Volume 8 Chapter 32 Siege Of Devil Bael - Aftermath
The 3 of them, Sandra, Philia, and Sur, who were tossed by Typhoon, were flying through the air with incredible force.
"――――――."
Sur, with her eyes completely white, flew beside Sandra. With no other choice, Sandra grabbed Sur's waist to secure him, then called out to Philia.
"Hey, Philia. I can't kill the momentum of our landing, so help me out."
"Hahahah! Your calmness in this situation is impressive! So, close your eyes?"
"No way. I'll watch."
"No can do. Nyurunyuru~."
Something quickly covered Sandra's eyes. Then, it fixed Sandra's entire body, as well as Sur's.
"Three, two, one... Landing confirmed!"
"...?"
Sandra realized that the intense force that had been surrounding them had suddenly disappeared. Then, Philia removed the blindfold from Sandra's eyes and said, "We've landed."
They found themselves on top of the castle walls of Bael Castle. When Sandra had peeked using Ajna Chakra, Bael was there, but now, not only was Bael gone, but even the gate was nonexistent.
"Bael seems to have hidden again."
"Do you know the location?"
"Hmm... The reception room where we first met."
"Ah, it's quite far from here. No choice, let's move forward with all our might."
Sandra slapped Sur's cheek to wake him up, saying, "Hey, wake up." Sur returned to his senses, saying, "Hah, where are we?" and Sandra released him.
"Then, let's head straight to Bael's location. If Clay catches up, we'll leave it to Clay's breaking power. But since Typhoon's speed is insufficient, we'll try to weaken it as much as possible on our side."
"Understood, Sandra-chan."
"Understood, Sandra-sama."
"Then, let's go. ―――Thunderbolt Burst Out."
Sandra summoned a lightning bolt and blasted it. The stone castle walls crumbled, exposing the corridor inside. As Sandra entered, the 2 of them followed, saying, "Let's do it" and "It's strong to be able to change the terrain."
As they advanced down the corridor, the Demon servants attacked them.
But Sandra wasn't intimidated at all. In fact, the power difference was so huge that she didn't even need to use a single speck of magic to take them down.
After a while, the 3 of them stood in front of the audience chamber door. "Here," Sandra said, and the other 2 nodded.
"Alright, let's go. Spark Burst Out!"
As Sandra destroyed the door with her lightning magic, a massive cannonball was fired from the other side.
However, the cannonball was caught in the door's destruction and shattered into pieces. A frustrated voice rose from the other side, "Tch! How annoying!"
The ones standing in the room were the 3 members of the devil Bael family.
Lord Bael stood in the center, with Cabby the cat standing beside him, arms crossed, and El, a girl who looked like an amulet, standing on the palm of Bael's hand.
Bael roared.
"I never thought you people would dare to defy me, Investigation Team! After receiving my hospitality...!"
"The servant's cannon fire was a bit much. You should treasure your own people."
"Shut up! You people are going to be executed by us for your crimes !Come on, my dear children! Show them your power!"
"Leave it to me, Father. I'll pull out their roots!"
"I'll toy with them using my mist."
Cabby extended his claws, and El began to sing. The room started to fill with mist.
"When our family of 3 is together, we're unbeatable!"
Bael laughed, his eyes gleaming.
"I'll teach you the meaning of that with your own body."
Bael raised his hand, and simultaneously, countless small cannons covered the entire floor, walls, and ceiling of the room.
"Load, construct"
"Hey, Sandra-chan, isn't this a bit dull? It feels like a saturation attack!"
"There's a possibility we can't handle this. What do we do?"
As Sandra was asked for her opinion, she thought, "This is the kind of pressure Wade always carries on his back, huh?"
Then, thinking "I'm still better off free," Sandra said,
"If we can mix it up, let's mix it up. I'm not a problem."
"Got it, Sandra-chan. I'll protect Sur-chan for you."
"Huh?!"
Philia did something to Sur behind Sandra's back. Right after that, Bael swung his hand down.
"Fire―――!"
"'Indra'!"
Sandra activated her Swadhisthana Chakra. The red child of her Chakra awakened. From that moment on, Sandra was freed from all physical contact.
The cannons fired countless cannonballs.
A high-pitched metallic sound continued to ring out as Philia's armor was hit behind Sandra. But Sandra walked through the hail of bullets with ease, observing as she went.
"Are the bullets that got lost in the fog coming out from another fog?"
That's a pretty troublesome attack. If it was a human who tried to dodge it seriously, they'd be toyed with and killed by now.
"What the...?! Why did she disappear the moment I fired my cannons?!"
Bael was shaken. Sandra was now in a state close to invisibility, and unless her opponent had an ability that could detect her, she was impossible to find.
"Don't worry, Father! I've got this!"
It was Cabby the cat who jumped out.
"I'll run around and tear them apart no matter who they are! It doesn't change a thing just because they can't be seen!"
Cabby ran around the room, dodging Bael's cannonballs with ease. It was as if he knew exactly where they were coming from.
But...
"Let's go! You're next! I'll crush you and send you to the underground room 'Spark Burst Out'" GYAAAAAAA!""
Just as Cabby was about to pass by, Sandra caught him and unleashed a lightning bolt. With that one hit, Cabby's entire body was carbonized and died.
Bael and the others were left breathless.
"―――! My child! My dear child! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! You killed my child Cabby right in front of me!"
"Ah! My beloved little brother What a cruel farewell...! I'll kill this girl for you, so we can talk about it when we meet again in a few hundred years!"
"Wow, what a wonderful family bond."
Sandra said with a half-closed eye, trying to get closer. But the frog-like El thickened the fog, stopping Sandra in her tracks with a "muh" sound.
"What should I do?"
"Hey, Sandra-chan, you seem to be in trouble, don't you?"
It was Philia, clad in full armor, who approached her. The sound of cannon fire was almost gone, and most of the cannonballs had lost their momentum, rolling on the ground.
"Second shot! Reload Construct...!"
Bael was ready to fire the next shot. But Philia said, without paying attention to that.
"Well, I'm not your direct teacher, but as your senior, I'll do my best. Sur-chan has also fainted."
"Sur is strong, but mentally weak. Lacking madness."
"Really? I think it's strange, but that's what I'm concerned about. Born in hell, but not as accustomed to hell as Sandra-chan and the others. Is there some secret?"
Leaving that conversation aside, Philia looked at Bael and the others.
"For now, let's not get too worked up, okay? I mean, El-chan, was it?"
Philia let out a short, dry laugh in her throat, then stretched out her arm.
"What you're doing in front of me is suicidal."
And then, she curled her finger.
Something moved beyond the fog that covered Bael and the others. It swiftly snatched El from Bael's hand and crushed it.
A short, pitiful cry and a small crushing sound echoed.
The fog cleared, revealing a stunned Bael and El, who had been killed with blood splattered all over Bael's hand. Whatever Philia had used was already gone.
"A...a...? Wh, what, what did you...?"
Bael was taken aback, his eyes fixed on something, and his spirit was completely crushed. His slightly trembling figure looked like the devilish Bael was cowering in fear.
Sandra was curious about Philia's true intentions, but in the end, she couldn't understand and gave up.
"Everyone, good job."
So Sandra said to Philia.
"This means our job is done."
"What!? You're saying I'm still remaining@ How dare you look down on me like that What an insult!"
Bael flew into a rage again. He raised his arm and shouted once more.
"Load up! Now!"
But before he could finish, Sandra said.
"There's none left. It's over."
Just then, a massive golem's hand burst through the wall behind Bael.
"What the...?! Ah, ah, ahhhhhhh!"
"Sorry to keep you waiting, everyone."
'It's our turn, finally! We're here!'
Bael shouted and resisted, but it was no use. He was caught by Typhon's hand and lifted into the air. Typhon easily broke through the castle wall with his other hand and poked his face out.
Clay lightly jumped down from Typhon's shoulder.
"I guess it all worked out in the end, huh?"
"Yeah, they were strong from a distance, but up close, they were weak."
"That's about right. We had a tough time getting close, and those cannon shots kept coming too."
The 2 of them exchanged words, completely victorious. Bael shouted, "You're kidding me! You're kidding me, aren't you?!"
Clay gave him a cold, cruel smile and ordered.
"Typhon, that's enough. Stop it."
'Yeaah...'
With a sickening crunch, Bael's life was extinguished in Typhon's massive hand. Sandra let out a tired yawn.
"Well, shall we head back?"
"Yeah, let's do that. Typhon, take us back too."
'Got it.'
Typhon held out his hand, the opposite of the one that had caught Bael, and carried him off in his mouth. Sandra and the others watched as the sound of crunching and chewing echoed through the air.
Philia, who was following behind, said with a hint of annoyance.
"...You guys are worse than devils, aren't you? Sandra-chan is pretty bad too, and what's with Clay-chan...?"
Sandra and Clay looked at each other, then turned to Philia and smiled.
"It's all an act."
Philia let out a "Scary..." as she was overcome by a cruel, harsh smile. She then pulled out Sur, who had fainted, from her armor.
