Volume 6 Chapter 3 Daily Life - Daytime
The city was bustling with activity in the morning, and it seemed like everything was just as usual.
However, as we passed by the guild, we noticed Sword adventurers with unfamiliar faces gathering together. They were chatting amongst themselves, saying things like, "It's about time," and "Yeah, I agree." We entered the guild amidst their conversations.
"Oh, look over there... Ah, it's the Gold Party. In the end, we couldn't catch platinum sword adventurer 'Oath,' and the dungeon enthusiasts have all gone into the dungeon. We have to rely on them... Damn it... If only we had Nightfather with us, we could have disappeared into the shadows..."
Voices of mixed emotions could be heard from the surroundings -- envy, hatred, anticipation, fear, and awe.
Nai stood in front of the counter and said, "Hey, I've been waiting for you." She placed 2 accessories on the counter.
They were Gold Sword adventurer badges.
"Congratulations on defeating Nightfather! With this, our internal worries will disappear for now. The Lord is extremely grateful to all of you. Oh, by the way, Wade-san, your father..."
Nai curved her lips into a smile.
"It seems that everything will be decided by the Lord's guidance. I was told to just tell you that he won't do anything bad to him. Things are going to get busy from now on, so if you have something to say, let me know, okay?"
I shook my head.
"No, there's nothing. I can't judge my own family. That's why I locked him away in the jail. I'll leave it to the jurisdiction of this territory's justice system. If it's the death penalty, so be it. After finishing our conversation, we all took the Gold Sword adventurer badges. We added them to the adventurer's badges that we always wore around our necks. I had a gold sword, a silver bow, and a gold torch. Toxy had a gold sword, a gold bow, and a silver torch.

We exchanged a glance and smiled slightly. Then, Nai added something more.
"Oh, right. Before I forget, there's a designated mission, so I'll make sure to tell you, okay?"
She handed me a request slip. I looked at it and said, "Well, it seems I've become someone who receives such requests."
"That's fine. Wade, you're leading the way, and you're doing well, so I think."
"...I'll do my best, Toxy. Nai, is that everything?"
"Yeah, that's everything for now. So, let's enjoy the remaining vacation time."

I stood up straight, with Toxy by my side, and left the guild. The rough-looking people lining up to leave looked at us with interest.
As we walked down the main street, Toxy asked me,
"Is it shopping next? Where are we going today?"
"Magic tool shop. I made a reservation earlier for an order that's been waiting, so I thought I'd go pick it up."
"Hmm? Is it a weapon?"
"Toxy, don't you think I'm like a warrior?"
"No way?"
"Yeah..."
I looked at her with a scowl, displeased by her impertinence.
Toxy apologized with a bow and said, "Sorry, old news."
"But even so," she continued.
"Wade is a kind person, after all. You know that."
"...That's true, but it's still embarrassing to be spoken to like that."
"What do you mean? You're always complaining!"
"Sorry."
We bickered and laughed together, making silly faces. Toxy asked,
"So, what's the present? Hedging your words means that's what it is, right?"
"It's a surprise, so you'll have to wait and see!"

"That's what surprises are all about!"
"Heh, that's right. So, I'll wait with bated breath. It's a present from Wade, after all!"
While saying that, Toxy smoothly takes hold of my hand. I noticed and looked at Toxy, who had a slightly red face and was looking in the direction of the day after tomorrow.
"It's cute that you get embarrassed after doing it yourself."
"...Don't say embarrassing things."
"It's not my fault that Toxy, who's getting embarrassed, is cute."
"Aww~, saying things like that is forbidden~..."
Toxy protested with an embarrassed smile, which was adorable, so I changed our hand holding to a simple lover's grip, where our fingers crossed.

"I love you, Toxy."
"...I love you more."
Toxy looked up at me with a bright red face and, after checking the surroundings, gently kissed my cheek. When I asked, "Is it okay with just the cheek?" she turned away and called me an idiot.
We arrived at the magic item shop. As soon as we entered the store, Toxy considerately said, "I'll be looking around, so call me when you're done." and walked away.
I walked lightly and found the person I was looking for. "Hey, Drop," I called out.
"Yes! Oh, Wade. Is it the usual?"
"Yeah, it's the usual."
When I nodded, Drop said, "Oh wow, you're doing it too, huh? I was surprised when I received the order." while saying things like that, she guided me, saying, "This way."
Like when I bought the collar for Moruru before, I entered a private room with Drop. And as soon as we sat down, she handed me 3 boxes and said, "Here you go."
"Mm, thanks."
"You already paid for it before, so this is all you need to take. ...Seriously, it's a big improvement that I couldn't have imagined from the skinny dog you were a year ago."
Drop looked at me deeply and said. I shrugged my shoulders and just replied, "I've been fortunate."
"Fortunate...well, whatever. Ahh, I really regret not trying harder if I knew you would succeed this much."
"Drop?"
"What? There was a time when I liked you, you know?"
When I said that, Drop pouted and protested.
"But, the scary snow woman from your place threatened me, so I had to run for my life. Thanks to that, the only thing I have left is my adventurer's badge, safely kept in my room."
"Hahaha! Can't go against Ice, huh? Well, I'm also under her thumb. In the end, I can't go against her too."

Anyway, that's what Drop said.
"Don't make her cry. Don't make her sad. I know you're going to be busy from now on. But still, take care of her. Come back and see me again with Ice."
"Got it. Next time I'll come to buy baby supplies."
As I stood up while saying that, Drop let out a sigh with a tired expression on her face.
"Sigh... I wonder if I should find a good guy too. Do you know someone, Wade? Can you introduce me?"
"What about Frain? He's a jerk, but..."
"Oh, yeah. He's the next promising candidate after Wade. Both of your personalities are bad, so in that sense, it's not too bad. So, please."
"Hahaha. It might surprisingly go smoothly. Well then, after we're done..."
"Yes, that's right. After you're done."
I nodded at Drop, and I left the room. Then, while hiding 3 boxes from Toxy, we headed home.
