Volume 3 Chapter 30 Healing Wounds (Great Prosperity)
The day after the Ten Commandments' attack.
I, the Demon Lord, found myself at a quiet farm in the countryside.
"Hey there!"
"Oh! Doctor! That was some chaos the other day!"
The farmer—an old acquaintance—greeted me with a hearty laugh.
"Sorry if I scared you."
"Not at all! With the strongest Demon Lord around, I wasn't scared a bit!"
Hah! He was putting on a brave front. No one could stare down a horde of majin and feel nothing. But I let it slide.
"So, what brings you here? Not just here to shoot the breeze, right?"
"Hardly. I came to check if anyone got hurt during the battle. How are your cows?"
"They're fine. The barn, though... not so much."
We headed over. The structure was barely standing.
"Tch. What a mess. Alright, let's fix this."
With a flick of my wrist, my Right Hand of Divine Magic flared to life. In an instant, the barn was restored—good as new.
"Whoa... Doctor, you're amazing! That right hand of yours fixes anything! But at this point... you're way past being just a beast vet!"
"Yeah, can't argue with that."
I chuckled.
Then—
"Mister Zeke! You're here!"
A pack of kobolds dashed toward me, ears twitching with excitement.
"Did anyone get hurt? I can heal you if needed."
The kobolds perked up immediately.
"Doctor!"
"Yeah?"
"Ouch! My stomach suddenly hurts! Heal me!"
"Uh... sure?" I placed my hand on the kobold's belly.
"Ugh...! Wow! I feel better!"
"""Lucky!"""
Wait a second. I didn't actually heal anything... Even with my divine sight, this kobold was perfectly fine.
"Doctor! I think I have a headache!"
"Oww, my stomach hurts too!"
One after another, the kobolds rattled off their "ailments," practically bouncing in place.
The farmer chuckled. "They just want your attention. You've been so busy lately, they haven't gotten to talk to you."
"...I see. Sorry, everyone."
"""It's okay! But heal me anyway!"""
I let out a small sigh, then smiled.
These guys. My people. My responsibility.
I won't let a single one of them get hurt. I won't let fear or uncertainty creep into their hearts again.
To do that, I need to cut this problem off at its root.
The New Demon Lord Army...
I'm coming for you.
