Volume 6 Chapter 14-2 Well, She's a Noble Lady
Recently, the Count family has been thriving due to their business.
Not long ago, a proposal arrived from another Count family to Hartfield.
──"How about my son as Miss *Cecilia's fiancé*?"
"Does Miss Cecilia know about this?"
"No. It seems the Count is troubled by it too."
As Luke said, she had just recently broken off her engagement.
Therefore, the Count couple wishes to let her be free, at least while she is still a student.
Additionally, the Count couple is aware of Cecilia's tender feelings towards Luke.
However, nobles cannot easily accept everything.
"For now, they seem to plan to introduce her and gauge their compatibility..."
Randy patted Luke's back, saying, "Hang in there."
Yet, it's true that the situation is grim.
Considering the need to keep the [Pilgrim of Truth] at bay, having more allies nearby is not a bad strategy for the Count.
If Cecilia's engagement leads to relations with another territory, assistance may be expected in times of need.
The other Count hails from a family renowned in the martial realm.
The current Count family has been struggling for a long time and lacks sufficient military power to pose a threat, unlike the Braubelg navy and Waldner's knight order.
After all, the opposing side is an international group.
Relying on Victor in this particular instance would also be difficult.
When Hartfield was attacked, it could not be guaranteed that Victor remained unaffected.
Knowing this, Randy glanced back at the cheerful Cecilia, pondering what to do.
The Count is likely troubled too, but these are challenging circumstances.
Having been a noble for 17 years, even at the lower ranks, he understands.
The opposing Count family is quite serious about this.
Without Luke, there might even be a chance for things to progress smoothly.
However, it is also true that he has a long-standing friendship with Luke.
Thus, Randy chose to prioritize his position as a friend over that of a noble.
"Luke, it's *your turn*. You have been too inconspicuous."
With Randy's words and the meaning of his rallying cry, Luke tightened his face and nodded, saying, "I get it."
This trip was a critical moment for Luke and Cecilia.
(As a knight, marrying a lady... I'll need quite an achievement.)
Whether aware of Randy's wry smile or not, Cecilia waved at Luke.
"Well then, shall we head back?"
Concluding his conversation with Liz, Luke nodded with his usual smile at Cecilia, who was smiling back.
"Well then, everyone, see you in the new semester──"
To Cecilia's graceful curtsy, Liz waved and said, "I'll write you a letter."
As the two waved at everyone, each embarked on their respective spring break.
"Well, I have my duties as a Saint to attend to."
"E-everyone, see you in the new semester──"
Catherine waved lightly, while Annabelle bowed deeply.
Leon, who was escorting the two, gave a polite nod before the 3 followed Luke and his friends out of the courtyard.
"Now then... what about Cory? How about *tomorrow morning*?"
"That sounds good... I'm ready, but I also want to talk to Anna, so is tomorrow okay?"
Cory tilted his head, and with a pure smile expressing his desire to talk to Annabelle, Randy covered his face with both hands, saying, "Sounds good."
"Senior, why are you hiding your face?"
"Well... you all are just too precious."
As Randy hid his face, Cory, puzzled, said, "Well then, tomorrow I'll visit the Marquis residence," and chased after the small back of Annabelle who had bowed low.
During this spring break, Cory was invited by Randy to serve as a mentor for beasts in Victor Territory.
As guests, they would be hosted by the Victor family.
Cory's deep understanding of beasts would astonish even Randy, who knows the Beast Forest inside and out.
With spring approaching, a few Knight apprentices are set to join.
Yet, Randy wants to be involved in the development of the new town.
This means Cory is stepping in for Randy, who usually serves as the instructor.
In fact, those from the Knight Brigade who know Cory have reportedly welcomed him with open arms.
"Now we can focus on the new town without any worries."
"Yes. I'm looking forward to it... but Randy seems to be worried about something?"
Randy shook his head, saying, "No, it's nothing," as Liz noticed his unease.
He hesitated to tell Liz about the potential engagement with someone even Cecilia didn't know.
"I'm just wondering what kind of town we should create..."
"Let's do our best!"
Liz clenched her fists in front of her chest, and Randy smiled, saying, "Yeah, I need to do my best too."
"Well then, Principal. Until the new semester──"
"Indeed. I will inform each household about the schedule change for the opening ceremony."
After bidding farewell to the Principal, Randy and Liz began to walk, following the backs of their already vanished companions.
The brightest star in the sky watched over the path they had just begun to tread.
