Volume 6 Chapter 13-2 Spring Break, It Just Started... No Way
Charlotte grimaced grandly at the arrogant Ellie.
"Lady Charl. I want to hear you say thank you."
Ellie shot back with a sharp tone, "Huh?" as Charlotte furrowed her brows and leaned closer, asking, "What?"
The two stared at each other for a moment.
Even though Randy was well-versed in rough matters, catfights were not his specialty.
As Randy compared the two, wondering what to do, Ellie and Charlotte burst out laughing simultaneously.
"It's been a while since I felt this way. It really is Nora."
"Where's the element of doubt?"
Ellie, with a look of exasperation, heard Charlotte suddenly glance at Randy and say, "Well..."
"Nora brought a man in front of me."
Ellie blushed, her expression one of surprise, as she exclaimed, "N-no!"
"By the way, you are Nora's boyfriend?"
Ignoring the red-faced Ellie, Charlotte stared intently at Randy.
"You were the one who told Nora, 'I'll make you happy,' right?"
Charlotte's words likely referred to when she glimpsed Ellie's past in the [Tower of Time].
Randy nodded, recalling he indeed said something like that, replying, "Yeah."
Charlotte continued to gaze at Randy, then shifted her attention back to Ellie with a thoughtful, "Hmm."
"...Where did you catch him?"
"W-well, it's not like I caught him..."
"So you got caught, huh?"
Ellie turned her face away, blushing, and stammered, "I-I don't know."
"Oh, you don't know. Then, can I take him...?"
"You can't have him!"
Ellie shouted without thinking, prompting Charlotte to lean in with a smirk, saying, "Oh?"
Ellie, realizing the implications of her words, turned red again, looking down as Charlotte circled around her, grinning, "Oh, oh."
"Has spring finally come for little Nora?"
Ellie murmured softly, "..."
"Huh? What?"
"It's been a thousand years. I have grown up quite a bit."
Seeing Ellie with a red face, Charlotte and Randy exchanged glances and smiled at one another.
"I see, a thousand years have passed, indeed."
Charlotte continued with a thoughtful smile.
"Of course, I would just become a *lingering thought*."
Though Charlotte wore a sad smile, she quickly raised her palm and said, "But don't feel sorry for me."
"By now, my soul is probably being reborn somewhere, enjoying life."
Nodding in satisfaction, Charlotte blushed and said, "Surrounded by handsome men."
Everyone present thought, perhaps that would have already fallen apart by now.
But no one voiced it.
"So, I'm very satisfied that I got to speak with Nora at the end."
Smiling, Charlotte shifted her gaze to Ellie's crystal where her body slept and said, "Oh right, it was your body."
"......"
All eyes gathered on Charlotte, who was silently staring at the coffin, and then──
"Oops, sorry. I just made a little mistake."
Charlotte put her hands together in front of her face, recounting the tale of when she sealed the ancient king and how she was interfered with by him.
"I never expected that through that door, there would be a reverse sealing placed on this side."
Charlotte, smiling wryly, said that by following the time-transcending technique she applied to the door, Ellie's body, resting here, was sealed in reverse.
"To ensure the technique's consistency, I had to include the information about Nora's body..."
"So they targeted that instead?"
Ellie sighed and nodded, "No wonder the door's technique is so complex."
"It's an unconditioned sealing spell, but it's charged with the strongest lunar power during a solar eclipse."
"Does that mean we'll need to wait for a solar eclipse to break the seal?"
Looking up at the twinkling starry sky, Ellie heard Charlotte say "I'm sorry" again with her hands together.
"A solar eclipse, huh..."
With the skies involved, all Randy and the others could do was wait for that moment.
Besides, the duration of the eclipse wouldn't be long.
Once it began, they would teleport and proceed to release the seal immediately.
The biggest problem is whether Randy and the others can survive until then.
Just as everyone was about to let out sighs of resignation, Catherine raised her hand and said, "If it's a solar eclipse..."
"There'll be one soon. It should be around spring in 3 years──"
What Catherine meant was that Eleonora would fully resurrect during that solar eclipse in the game.
After that, Dukedom would gradually be eroded, and the scenario of the game dictates that Dukedom falls in the middle of the second semester.
Though the game's scenario has collapsed, the movements of the stars cannot be altered by humans.
This means that what Randy and the others are aiming for is the solar eclipse that will begin in one or 2 months.
"So, that's the first and last chance, huh?"
Randy pondered how to deliver the power of the solar eclipse to this place and how to return Ellie's soul to her body.
However, if this is the only timing available, then they have to go for it.
"If that's settled, then spring break will be busy."
"Speaking of which, it's still the very first day of spring break."
"It feels so packed that I already feel like it's ending."
Seeing everyone laughing, Charlotte whispered into Ellie's ear.
"You have good friends."
"Not to be outdone by you, though."
In front of Ellie, Charlotte began to fade away, still smiling...
"I'm sorry. I likely don't have much time left──"
"Don't worry. Just talking to you like this is enough."
Charlotte smiled at Ellie, who nodded.
'Someday, when you find me reborn──'
"Don't worry. You've already *met* me."
Ellie laughed, causing Charlotte to exclaim, "Huh?"
"Your soul is probably longing for me, and has flown in from another world or something."
Ellie, who was gazing at Catherine with a sidelong glance, met the eyes of Charlotte and Catherine.
""Me?""
The two people, whose voices were unintentionally in harmony, furrowed their brows.
""It's not me, okay?""
As they continued to harmonize, all of them burst into laughter.
'I feel like I've been stingy at the end'
"This line"
The two of them, with an indescribable atmosphere, turned their faces away, and Charlotte waved her hand at Ellie with a sigh.
'See you.'
"Yeah. Until next time..."
Before Ellie, who waved her hand, Charlotte vanished into particles of light.
Ellie stared into the void for a moment, but with a small "Hmph," she turned back to Randy and the others.
"For now, let's head home. It's a wait until the day to come."
With a smile, Ellie raised her staff, and Randy nodded, saying, "Right."
Ellie's teleportation enveloped everyone, and the room was once again shrouded in silence.
But it was a gentle silence, unlike when they arrived...
