"And," Mother said, her excitement palpable.
If Mother was this excited, it must truly be beautiful.
I headed towards the garden, the party venue, filled with anticipation.
"Wow..."
Even before stepping into the garden, both Rolus and I were left speechless.
The plants surrounding the garden were adorned with sparkling jewels, like a dazzling illumination.
Perhaps they would light up when it got dark.
And in the air, there were several jewel-like objects cut into the shape of flowers, floating gently.
Completely defying gravity.
As I pondered what they were, our teacher, standing next to Rolus, chuckled proudly and explained.
"Those are lamps I created, made from magic stones. They will glow once the sun sets."
That's amazing, Teacher!
My inner elementary school self cheered with joy.
With about an hour until sunset, those jewels would soon begin to shine.
And since the party was set to continue into the night, I would have plenty of time to observe the glowing flower-shaped jewels.
"They'll light up, Rolus! I can't wait!"
As I clung to Rolus's arm and said this, he returned my excitement with a smile.
Together, we stepped into the garden.
There, our friends greeted us with warm smiles.
Everyone was dressed in beautiful dresses and suits, like flowers blooming in the garden.
"Congratulations, Lady Elena!"
The first voice was from Ms. Natalia.
Inspired by her, voices of celebration echoed from everyone.
"A wedding party is such a joyous occasion, isn't it, Rolus?"
"Indeed, my...Elena."
I heard him almost say "Lady," but he added "my" in a very soft voice!
As Rolus and I took our seats, Father began his speech as the representative of the family.
Following him, our teacher gave a speech, and then Prince Sven, who had come as part of the official proceedings, also spoke.
By the way, Sven was quite serious during his official greeting, but when I smiled at him, he broke into a grin, looking adorably relaxed.
It was a bit cute.
The girl next to Sven looked at him with wide eyes, surprised, which was a bit amusing and cute.
Well, I probably couldn't tell the girl herself that she was cute.
That girl is probably Sven's sister, the princess of this country.
Once the greetings were done, the chatting time began.
Since we were the main characters, it wasn't exactly a peaceful chatting time; we were being jostled by our friends.
But that was happiness in its own way.
"Congratulations, Ms. Elena!"
"Thank you, Flora."
"Congratulations, Lady Elena!"
"Thank you, Ms. Parsley and Ms. Percella. And you too, Ms. Natalia."
"Lady Elena, congratulations!"
Ms. Natalia was in tears.
Seeing that, Ms. Parsley and Ms. Percella also had teary eyes, and even Flora started wiping her eyes.
"You two look so happy; it moved me too."
Flora said.
"D-Did we look happy?"
How embarrassing, I murmured, glancing next to me, only to find that Rolus had disappeared.
It seemed he was surrounded by Leve and the others.
"I saw it! I'm used to seeing you two together, but I've never seen you so close, smiling at each other like that!"
Ms. Natalia said excitedly.
"Hehe. Earlier, when we went to the temple, it seemed like Rolus was happy about this marriage too. I was so glad about that."
As I shyly admitted that, everyone let out cute little squeals.
After that, they asked about what happened at the temple, and we all started chattering away happily.
After a little while, the men started to flow in.
"Elena, congratulations!"
"Thank you, Leve."
I thought to myself how wonderful it was to receive congratulations from a childhood friend I had known since we were little, but that thought was fleeting.
"I heard that Rolus is happy too, Elena!"
Rudger burst in with enthusiasm.
"I heard it directly from him! And I'm happy too!"
"I was surprised to see Rolus, who never changed his expression when Elena was absent, smiling happily."
As Rudger laughed and said that, Rolus called out to him, asking him to stop.
"Even when I was around, my expression didn't change that much, you know, Rolus?"
At my words, everyone present burst into laughter.
Indeed, they said, while chuckling.
Surrounded by everyone's blessings and the sparkling light of the magic stone lamps, I was undoubtedly the happiest person in this world today.
"Now, I wonder who will be happy next?"
