Volume 2 Chapter 7 Negotiation with the Emperor
I had arrived at the Holy Empire.
I was here to meet with the emperor who ruled this nation and propose a negotiation.
In the audience chamber:
"Hmm... So, you wish to establish a non-aggression pact with us?" the emperor inquired.
"That's right, Emperor Gomidius. We want to coexist without interfering in each other's affairs. If you accept, I'll overlook the fact that you led your knights to attack us," I replied.
Emperor Gomidius seemed to ponder, humming in thought.
"I reject your proposal."
"Why?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.
The sound of clanking armor filled the room as knights surrounded me.
"Who do you think you are, you leader of beasts? How dare you, a mere commander of monsters, offer to spare the life of an emperor? Know your place!"
"Oh, come on..."
Why isn't anything going as planned?
"Please, we just want to live in peace. We have no intention of threatening your way of life. Can't you even allow us that?"
"Of course not! You monsters are evil just by existing. You're an eyesore. Am I right, my knights?"
The emperor addressed his men.
"Absolutely, Your Majesty!"
The knights behind the emperor chorused.He is a blond, delicate-looking man and he stepped forward, approaching me.
"And who might you be?"
"I am Eins of the Celestial Imperial Guard, one of the Thirteen Apostles!"
Now I remember, Gubetz mentioned something about a powerful knight.
"How dare a mere beast tamer order around His Majesty the Emperor! I shall teach you a lesson here and now!"
"Eins, show no mercy. Kill him!"
"I'll say this one last time. Leave us alone," I warned.
"Silence! Die!"
Eins reached for his sword, but I quickly closed the distance between us.
"Wha- How... So fast..."
"Paralyze!"
I shouted, activating my skill with a palm strike.
"Gyaaaahhhh!"
Eins cried out in pain, his body contorting into a 'C' shape and flying backward at high speed.
He collided with the wall and crumbled to the ground.
"Impossible... I, Eins of the Thirteen Apostles, can't move... What... is this...?"
"What are you doing?! Kill him now!"
The remaining 12 men also fell to the ground with a loud thud.
"What!? What did you just do!?"
"Nothing special, I just cast the Paralyze skill over a wide area."
The skill he had used on Eins was now spreading through the ground, affecting the remaining 12 as well.
"Wh-When did you... We couldn't even sense it... What... What strength..."
The knights surrounding me also collapsed, unable to stand.
Alone, I began walking towards the Emperor.
"Hey, you fools! Wake up! Get up and kill this Demon Lord! Kill him!"
"I... I can't move..."
"What? Even the strongest knights can't defeat this monster?"
I reached the Emperor.
"Eeek! If you kill me, something terrible will happen!"
"I won't kill you."
I created a sword with alchemy and thrust it into the ground in front of the Emperor.
"Aaaaaah!"
He fell off his chair, looking up at me with a terrified expression.
"I won't kill you this time. But if you point a sword at me again, I won't hold back. Make sure your subordinates and the higher-ups understand that."
I looked down at the Emperor and said,
"Next time, the Demon Lord will come to destroy your country."
"Ah... Oh..."
The Emperor fainted from sheer terror.
I turned on my heel and used teleportation magic to return to the Demon Lord's country.
"Big brother."
Cino, my sister, greeted me.
She hugged me tightly.
"I'm glad you're safe. Everyone was worried about you."
In the Demon Lord's chamber, the monsters gathered around.
"You're really embracing your role as the Demon Lord, brother."
"Please, stop. I'm not comfortable with this kind of attention."
"But standing up against evil for the sake of your people, that's the true king of monsters. You're amazing, as always, big brother."
