Volume 2 Chapter 47 Messenger from the Fairyland
One day, I received word from the fire dragon that there was trouble in the forest.
'It's been ages since I went out with you, big bro! I'm so excited!'
"Yeah, I've been busy with all sorts of things lately. Maybe we should go somewhere fun with everyone next time."
'Yay! I can't wait!'
'I am looking forward to it as well!'
On my shoulder, the fairy librarian Lilinne was perched.
"You don't have to follow me if you don't want to."
'Don't worry, I've been ordered by His Majesty the Emperor Anti to assist Sir Zeke!'
Well, it's fine if she wants to tag along.
'We're almost there! Big bro!'
There were several men in the forest.
I dismounted from the fire dragon and landed.
"What are you guys doing here? In a place like this?"
The rough-looking men were attacking a carriage.
The elf man serving as the driver was lying on the ground, covered in blood.
"What the hell are you!"
The leader of the group glared at me.
But I remained completely unfazed, focusing on the situation around me.
The men had something resembling a birdcage in their hands.
Inside, there was a fairy.
"Are you thieves? Planning to capture and sell fairies?"
"So what if we are! It's none of your business!"
"Ah. However, I cannot overlook someone trying to take someone away without consent. Leave that child and disappear."
The fairy inside the cage looked at me and exclaimed, "You are...! Could it be!" with wide eyes.
"Shut up! You guys! Kill this arrogant man!"
"Hah..."
I glared at them for just a moment.
With that alone, the thugs foamed at the mouth and fainted.
"Higii! Hiiiii! W-What the hell... who are you!"
'As expected of Sir Zeke! You can scare them just by glaring without even using skills! Amazing! An overwhelming powerhouse! Yes, the world's strongest Demon Lord!'
This fairy is quite the charmer.
After that, I captured the thieves, treated the injured, and freed the fairy from the birdcage.
'Thank you for saving me!'
The fairy boy bowed repeatedly.
"Don't mention it. By the way, what were you fairies doing here?"
'I was searching for my long-lost sister.'
"Your sister? What do you mean by that?"
The fairy glanced at me──or rather, at Lilinne sitting on my shoulder.
"I finally found you, Sister!"
'Geh, Reiss...'
Lilinne frowned awkwardly.
"So the sister you were searching for was you? You're family, so just talk to her already."
'N-no way, what a surprise! I completely didn't notice. It's not like I thought it'd be trouble or a hassle if I got found, or tried to pretend not to see and escape or anything!'
This girl...
'Now, Sister, let's go home! Her Majesty the Queen, our mother, awaits your return.'
Her Majesty?
Mother?
"Wait a second... Lilinne, are you royalty?"
'Apologies for the late introduction. I am Reiss Von Herschel, First Prince of the Fairy Kingdom. And this disgraceful sister here is the First Princess of the Fairy Kingdom.'
