Volume 1 Chapter 38 The King, His Capital Destroyed by the Frost Dragon
Zeke was scouted from the High Elf Kingdom, meanwhile.
The king mutters in his room with a desperate expression.
"Damn adventurers...! How dare they ignore the king's orders! Damn it!"
The quest for adventurers has been canceled.
The riot of magic beasts protecting the kingdom is being handled by the knights without rest.
But their fatigue is piling up, and collapse is imminent.
"But they are still holding the line. Yes, we can just push the knights harder without relying on anyone else!"
This desperate thought was nothing short of foolishness.
"They also became knights to protect the kingdom; surely they will be fulfilled by working hard for it."

"Y-Your Majesty! It's terrible!"
"What is it, prime minister? You're so loud."
Gasping for breath, the prime minister collapses before the king.
"The Frost Dragon is attacking the royal capital!"
"W-what?!"
The king and prime minister rush out of the castle.
And then he was at a loss for words.
"W-Wait! It's snowing!?"
Even though it is autumn, light snow is falling from the sky.
And above the castle, a giant dragon made of ice was circling.
"Wh-Wh-What the hell is that monster?!"
The king was so shocked by its size that he lost his nerve.
"Why is such a monster here!?"
"Well, well...?"
Frost Dragon.
A type of ancient dragon whose entire body is made of ice.
The reason why a dragon, who rarely comes down to a human settlement, is here is...
'Please forgive my sudden rudeness, humans. I mean you no harm! I hear you have the best beast veterinarian in the world! Please, please help me!'
Simple.
The Frost Dragon came down to the village seeking help.
More specifically, it came to see Zeke.
But....
"Roooaaaarrr!"
The words of magic beasts are inaudible to humans.
If Zeke were here, he could hear the silent voice of the Frost Dragon and heal it.
But Zeke is not here.
In fact, only the foolish king is present.

"Alright, it's wavering! Kill it! Kill it, kill it!"
At the king's command, the court magician and soldiers launch a full attack on the Frost Dragon.
She endured it.
Understanding her position, she desperately held on.
But even that reached its limit.
'Enough already! You fooools!'
The Frost Dragon tilts her head back and exhales an ice breath.
The king's castle, the royal capital, were frozen in an instant.
"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! "
Even though they were hit by the ice breath, the humans were not harmed.
The dragon used her reason to make adjustments so that this would happen.
Spreading her wings, the dragon sits atop the royal castle.
'Bring me the beast veterinarian! Now!'
The kings could only tremble in fear at the great power of the ancient dragon.
Then suddenly, the sky was enveloped in thick clouds and a large amount of snow began to fall.
Even though there are no deaths, the town is covered in ice and it's so cold.
And there's a magic beast running wild outside...
"Y-Your Majesty...what shall we do..."
A dragon has taken residence in the castle, but there are no reliable knights or adventurers.
The soldiers are exhausted; defeating the dragon is simply impossible.
"I-I'm not at fault...! I'm not, you know!"
Though the Frost Dragon couldn't speak, she showed no intention to fight.
If she truly wanted to attack humans, they would have been wiped out by now.
If Zeke were here... No, if only the king understood that magic beasts have hearts...
Such a tragic situation wouldn't have occurred.
But it is too late now.
Zeke is not in this country.
