"Sure thing!"
Sagawa cheerfully pulled up his status window like it was no big deal.

His level jumped by two! Probably because he solo'd the Goblin Knight like it was an afternoon jog. But—
"...Huh? What's this? Feminine Berserk Mode?"
No freaking way.
So that's how the Trans Potion works—it turns side effects into actual skill techniques in this world.
Which means... even if someone gets cursed with a weird side effect... they still get stronger.
...Huh. Kind of a win-win.
If that's the case, I've got a couple more Trans Potions stashed away. I could totally experiment. Maybe prank someone—
"—HEY! Takeru!!"
"GUH—"
Suddenly, Rie-tan grabbed my collar like I owed her money, shaking me so hard my vision started buffering.
"I—cough—I CAN'T BREATHE—"
"SPILL IT! How the hell did Sagawa end up with that skill after fighting the Goblin Knight!?"
"I—wait—hang on! Let me explain!"
Deep breath. Time to channel my inner con artist.
"Okay, listen—what I'm about to tell you is... strictly confidential. Got it?"
""WHAT!?""
I straightened up, slapped on my serious face, and waited. Both of them instinctively stood at attention. Nice. I love when people play along.
"...It's about this."
I reached into my pocket and dramatically pulled out a small bottle.
Rie-tan blinked. "What's that?"
"Behold... the Trans Potion."
"...You named that on purpose, didn't you?"
"Focus! Anyway—this bad boy doesn't just taste like cough syrup—it boosts your physical abilities."
"Wh-What!?"
"You're telling me that little bottle does that!?"
"Yup. In fact—" pause for effect "—it multiplies your stats by at least three times. Maybe even ten if you're lucky."
""TEN TIMES!?""
They both practically backflipped. Honestly? Worth the dramatic reveal.
"I-I've never heard of a potion that boosts you like that!" Rie-tan was practically hyperventilating.
"Yeah... seriously, what kind of black-market nonsense is this!?" Sagawa added, still weirdly adorable with his lingering side effects.
Oh boy, if they ask where I got it from...
Time to pull out the ultimate trump card.
"Well... I got it from the guild master. Sakurako-sama."
"WHAAAT!?"
"Hold up—Sakurako-sama gave you that!?"
Hook. Line. Sinker.
"Yep. Right after the F-Class Seeker Registration Ceremony. Said it was, y'know... a 'special gift.' Maybe she saw potential in me. Or maybe she just likes my vibe." shrugs
"H-Huh...? Really...?" Rie-tan's suspicion wavered. Perfect.
Sagawa frowned. "Why you though?"
"I dunno, man! Maybe I've just got main character energy."
"...Wait." Rie-tan narrowed her eyes. "Did you drink it too, Takeru-kun?"
"...Eh? Uh... yeah! Totally did!" Bluff mode: ACTIVATED.
Her expression shifted into teacher's-pet-approved mode. "Oh! That explains your freakishly high stats despite your low level!"
"Y-Yeah... that's it!" Nailed it. I mean, sure—it was a misunderstanding, but I'll ride that wave.
"So how much did it boost you?"
Crap. Think fast. Can't go too high... but not too low either...
"Uh... like, four times?"
"Ooooh!"
They both nodded, completely buying it. Thank god.
"...By the way." Rie-tan shot me a sharp look. "What's up with Sagawa's 'Feminine' thing? That's part of the potion too, isn't it?"
And there it was—the million-rupee question.
