Volume 2 Chapter 13 Sagaemon Development Plan (Also Known as Human Experimentation)
*Takeru's Perspective
"So... uh, what should I do?"
Yep. We were currently getting our butts handed to us by the Goblin Knight standing in front of us.
"Gugya! Gugya! Gugyaaaa!!!"
Oh great, screaming goblin noises. Very comforting.
And it wasn't just one—there were two of them. TWO. And we were losing. Yeah... not exactly a confidence booster.
(Man, this is beyond annoying!)
Honestly? I was about this close to losing it.
(Seriously!? This little green dude thinks he's hot stuff!?)
I thought about just flipping the switch on 'Body Awakening (Extreme)' and obliterating him in one hit. Easy-peasy.
And then—bam. Inspiration struck.
(Wait a sec... genius idea incoming.)
If I powered up Sagawa, then if I messed up... he'd look like the idiot instead of me! Absolutely foolproof!
Divine revelation achieved.
So, how do I make him stronger?
Oh yeah. I had just the thing.
"Otherworldly item... Trans Potion~!"
"HUH!? W-what's with the weird voice all of a sudden!?"
...Oops. Slipped into that 'robot cat from the future' voice again. Dang nostalgia.
Eh, no biggie. I just said "otherworldly item." Totally normal battle talk, right?
"…Sagawa."
"What now!? Focus, dude! We're literally dying here!"
"Do you want power?"
"Huh?"
* * *
*Sagawa's Perspective
"Do you want power?"
He just... suddenly dropped that on me. Mid-battle. Like it was a casual conversation over coffee or something.
Creepy.
Dude, we're kinda in the middle of being goblin roadkill! Priorities!?
"Do you want power?"
Oh come on—he asked again!?
At this point, humoring him seemed faster than dealing with whatever crisis was happening in his head.
And—OW!? Why is the Goblin Knight targeting me!? Hello!? Open target right there! Hit HIM!
While dodging death (barely), I muttered, "Okay, okay! Yes! I want it! Happy now!?"
And that, dear reader, was my biggest mistake.
"If you want power... I'll grant it to you."
"...Wait—what—mmph!?"
Next thing I know, Takeru's behind me like some villain in a drama, locking me in a surprise hug.
"Aight, bottoms up!"
"Wha—OH NO—!"
Glug glug glug. I was force-fed a sketchy-looking green liquid.
"BUH-haa!? WHAT WAS THAT!?"
"Oh good, you drank it all! Nice job, champ!"
...What character is this guy roleplaying now!? Wait—focus!
"W-what did you just make me drink!?"
Also... why is the Goblin Knight just watching us? Bro, you were just attacking me—don't just stand there like this is a soap opera!

*Takeru's Perspective
I smoothly moved behind Sagawa (stealth level: pro), grabbed him, and activated 'Body Awakening (Extreme).' Then, while he was busy panicking, I sneakily pulled the 'Trans Potion' out of 'Storage.'
Mission: Make him chug it.
Result: Success.
"BUH-haa!?"
"Good job! All gone! So proud of you."
...Man, I sound like a parent who just got their kid to take cough syrup.
Oh? The Goblin Knight's charging? Yeah, buddy, not now. Busy doing character development over here.
Activating weak Intimidation, I mentally told the goblin: (Hey, sit. Stay. Good boy.)
"Guh!? Ggeeeh..."
Nice. That worked. Crisis postponed. Sagawa didn't even notice—10/10 stealth.
By the way, if I'd used regular Intimidation with 'Body Awakening (Extreme)' active, this goblin would've straight-up died of shock. So... yay for restraint?
"W-what was that just now!? WHAT did you make me drink!?"
"Oh?"
Right on cue—Sagawa's body started trembling. Awakening sequence: initiated.
This... is gonna be great. Probably.
Wait, you're asking if the Trans Potion is dangerous? Pfft—relax!
…Okay, okay, fine—quick explanation:
The Trans Potion boosts physical ability anywhere from three times to ten.
...Yes, that's a big range. No, I don't know why. Science is weird, okay?
But is it dangerous?
Who knooows~? I mean, there are rumors about side effects. Like, occasional ones. Rare, really. Probably.
Have I taken it? Ha! Absolutely not! That stuff's terrifying! What do I look like, a maniac?
...Wait. I just made Sagawa drink it.
Oops.
It's fine! Totally fine! I believe in Sagawa.
He'll be fine. Probably.
Go get 'em, buddy!
