Volume 5 Chapter 4 Distribution Of Divine Growth Points
The day after finishing shopping with Cosmos.
As a Nurturer, I was diligently helping novice adventurers as usual.
"Monet, cover me!"
"Hmmm, Anette is so impatient."
Two girls are facing a flock of Flare Bambi in the forest near Hyamars town.
One is a lively girl with medium pink hair.
The other is a sleepy girl with medium light blue hair.
Their names are Anette and Monet.
They are 12-year-old twin sisters who visited the Nurturer about a week ago.
They said their mother, who was an adventurer, had to retire due to an injury, and now they want to support their mother, raising her alone, by becoming adventurers themselves.
"Anette, I'm going to get some water!"
"Please do, Monet!"
These 2 girls possess a somewhat rare job class.
Anette's job class is 'Kick Fighter'.
This job class has a skill called 'Kick Technique' which doubles the power of divine blessing applied only to her legs on top of her base physical abilities.
As a result, it is a rare close-combat job class that focuses on kicking techniques.
On the other hand, Monet's job class is 'Ritual Magician'.
This magic-type job class can use various magic by offering some possession as a sacrifice.
The higher the value of the offered item, the more powerful the magic that can be used.
Apparently, when you consume valuable jewels as offerings, you can use magic that is comparable to that of a Rank 2 adventurer at this stage.
"That's it"
Monet took out a blue scale about the size of her fist from her pocket.
Scale material collected from a fish-type sea creature monster.
Materials taken from monsters can also be offered as offerings, and have a certain value.
When she offered it as an offering, the scales disappeared from Monet's hand, and instead a mass of water appeared above her head.
The water flies straight towards Flare Bambi, who is at the front of the pack, and crashes into her violently.
With that impact, Flare Bambi was launched into the air, and immediately, Anette jumped out.
"Hah!"
Delivering a fierce kick to the defenseless Flare Bambi, who was thrown into the air.
Though Flare Bambi was slammed into the ground by that one blow, it didn't go down completely and staggered to its feet.
I pointed my hand at the two as I watched that.
"[Boost], [Enhance]"
I cast Boost support magic on Anette and Enhance support magic on Monet.
Realizing what I was doing, the two exchanged glances and attacked Flare Bambi again with the same coordination.
This time, they were able to take it down with a single blow, and Anette and Monet froze in surprise for a moment.
They quickly regained their composure and took down the remaining Flare Bambis in the same manner, bringing silence to the area.
I offered words of praise to the two who had safely finished the battle.
"Great job, both of you. That was excellent teamwork. You remembered Flare Bambi's weaknesses well too!"
"Yes, thank you, Mister Roezé!"
"Thanks, Mister Roezé!"
The two similar-looking girls rushed over with a patter.
Anette and Monet called me "Mister Roezé (teacher)."
I felt a bit embarrassed at first, but I got used to it as I heard them and it became completely established.
"Mister Roezé's support magic is really amazing! It's making me feel more and more powerful!"
"Thanks to you, we were able to take them down easily!"
Although there is a difference in their feelings towards each other, Anette and Monet seem to be happy when they talk about it.
Because they are twins, they look exactly alike, so the only things I can tell them apart are their hair color and the way they talk.
By the way, Anette is the older sister and Monet is the younger sister.
"At this rate, I think I'll be strong enough to take the next Rank 4 promotion exam."
"Yes! I'll definitely get to Rank 4 in the next test! "
"More and more~"
The two of them look very motivated.
Their abilities should be enough to pass the test, and if they succeed, they will reach Rank 4 at a younger age than Rose.
As I walked back to town, feeling happy to see the young buds growing right in front of me, Anette suddenly asked.
"By the way, didn't Mister Roezé level up too? Since you helped us with support magic, I'm sure Mister Roezé must have received some divine growth points when we defeated Flare Bambi!"
"Oh, you seem to remember about the divine growth points too. Good job, Anette!"
Anette is happy to be praised childishly with a giggle of 'ehehe'.
It seemed the two of them were novice adventurers and didn't know much about divine growth points, so I had taught them before.
"It's true that I've been given a certain amount of divine growth points, but I've already hit my level limit. So I can't level up any further."
"Oh, I see!"
As I explained that again, I decided to teach them one more thing for their future knowledge.
"And just to add, the divine growth points from defeating Flare Bambi should mostly have been absorbed by Anette and Monet."
"Mostly? Why hasn't Mister Roezé received any divine growth points at all? I thought the person who contributed the most in battle was supposed to get a lot of divine growth points, right?"
"Yes. After all, Mister Roezé's support magic... the one who contributed the most..."
Anette and Monet tilted their heads, looking puzzled.
It seems they remember that part well too.
While secretly impressed, I began to explain in detail.
"As your sister said, more divine growth points are given to those who make a great contribution to the battle. But my support magic is a bit special, so it doesn't seem to be seen as a big contribution."
"Oh, is that so? Maybe God hates you..."
"That's not the case though"
But that may be a good way to put it.
The divine growth point is something given by the gods in celebration of monster subjugation, so depending on how you look at it, it could also be perceived as being disliked by the gods.
To put it more accurately...
"My job class is 'a job class that helps people grow,' you see. I think it's probably designed so that support magic doesn't seem that impressive, so that I don't take too many divine growth points from others."
"Is that so! If it were otherwise, people would just think that Monet and I were helped solely by great support magic, and we wouldn't receive many divine growth points from the gods."
"What does that mean, Anette~?"
Compared to Anette, the slightly laid-back Monet seemed confused about what I meant and furrowed her brows.
Seeing this, Anette said, 'Well, there's no helping it,' and began to patiently explain to the sleepy Monet.
Eventually, when that was over, Monet nodded with a drawn-out voice saying, 'I see how it is~,' and then turned to face us.
"Is that related to what Mister Roezé said before about 'roles'?"
