After that, we spent about 2 hours browsing clothing stores in the East District.
As a result, Cosmos bought almost all the clothes that I thought suited her, looking very pleased.
Then, since we were tired from walking, she suggested we go into a cafe, and now we're waiting at our table for the drinks we ordered.
"I managed to get some pretty good shopping done. It's not so bad to go to clothing stores with someone else."
"I'm glad to see you're satisfied."
To be honest, I don't really feel like I did much for her.
Cosmos asked me whether the clothes looked good, and all I did was respond with "yes" or "no."
Since I felt that wasn't sufficient gratitude, I decided to carry all the bags and also pay for our drinks at the cafe.
But I really wonder if this is enough?
After everything we cooperated on to thwart the plans of the Forest King's Army and the Spirit King's Army.
As I was thinking that, it seemed Cosmos was reminded of the same thing, and she murmured while gazing out the cafe window at the town scenery.
"Still, it feels so peaceful. Just the other day, it feels like a dream that we were fighting to crush the plans of the Forest King Army and the Spirit King Army."
At that moment, the fruit juice with whipped cream that Cosmos ordered and the hot coffee I ordered were brought to our table.
Cosmos took a spoonful of whipped cream, closed her eyes, savored it, then turned her gaze back out the window while sipping her fruit juice through a straw.
"We really stopped the Demon Lord Army's plan, didn't we? Eating delicious sweets and looking at the usual town scenery makes me feel like I can't believe it's real."
"Well, we all worked hard to stop their plans, and that's why this town is at peace. In fact, the news that the Forest King's Army and the Spirit King's Army have been annihilated has been circulating, but the people of this town seem to think it's just a story from a faraway country."
The town of beginnings──it's thanks to Rose and Cosmos that the people of Hyamars are able to live their lives without feeling a sense of crisis.
So, the unchanged scenery of the town can be said to be proof of our efforts.
"It's a story from a distant country, huh? It resolved so peacefully that it's something we can be proud of."
"What's up? You seem a bit dissatisfied."
"It's not that I'm dissatisfied. It's just that everyone is acting as if nothing happened, so it feels unreal."
Cosmos has a point.
We defeated the Forest King Gálu and the spirit king Vamph, who reign over that monster.
Historically, that's a turning point, and it wouldn't be strange if the world were shaking because of it.
It wouldn't have been surprising for this town to have fallen victim to them as well.
Yet here, only the same scenery as always spreads around us.
It might feel like reality is thin.
"The battle took place at the far eastern edge of this central continent. It was 2 countries over; it's only natural that it hasn't caused a stir here, right? Besides, Rose and Cosmos have long been known in this town for their strength, so maybe everyone isn't that surprised."
"That's complicated, though. Wouldn't it be nice if people were a bit more surprised?"
That might be true.
Even if Rose and Cosmos are well-known for their abilities, they're still up against the Demon Lord army.
It wouldn't be strange if it remained a topic in the town for a while.
By the way, it seems Cosmos wanted everyone to praise her more, huh?
Not for any recognition, but to have the feeling that they had annihilated the Forest King's Army and the Spirit King's Army.
"Everyone expects Cosmos to do something even more amazing. I'm one of them. Or do you want to be surrounded by fans and praised like Rose?"
"I'm sorry about that"
Cosmos sipped the fruit juice with a look of genuine disgust on her face.
"It's painfully clear just watching that girl that becoming too famous isn't necessarily a good thing. It's unfortunate, but I'm really glad the title of 'Eastern Hero' ended up with Rose."
"It's really unfortunate, though."
Valkyrie Rose was awarded the title of 'Eastern Hero' in place of the former hero, Dahlia.
Originally, she was making remarkable progress in this area, and as her name became known, it really began to resonate especially loud once Rose became one of the heroes.
As she walks down the streets, the townspeople greet her, adventurers continuously invite her to parties, and the guild consistently assigns her a large number of requests.
I've heard that she even has quite a few fans.
Naturally, being admired in such a way is part of a hero's job, but in Rose's case, she became a hero at the youngest age and from a low rank, and is known for being diligent and straightforward, so it seems her number of fans is considerable.
In other towns, it has become common for her to be surrounded by fans, and recently she sometimes comes to Nurturer looking fatigued by the crowds.
It seems she doesn't really need that much admiration, as Cosmos was drinking juice with a grim expression.

With Rose becoming famous, it seems I've been somewhat affected as well.

Anyway, I thought it was going to get even busier, and I secretly felt a surge of motivation for work.
