Volume 3 Chapter 39 Twisted Love

Volume 3 Chapter 39 Twisted Love

'This guy doesn't have a job class!'

'That means he's been abandoned by the gods!'

'You're thinking of something bad, aren't you!'

Looking back, he feels like he's been all alone since he was young.

He was often teased for not having a job class, and because he lacked confidence, he became a target for bullying.

So, he doesn't remember having anyone he could call a friend, and he feels like that has only added to his current lack of confidence.

He's just a loser who can't even make one friend.

His parents seemed really sorry for him, feeling bad for giving birth to someone without a job class, but what he truly wanted wasn't a job class...

Suisen, who had been dreaming of those old days, slowly began to wake up.

Still feeling dazed, he looked around with hazy eyes.

First, he realized he was sitting on a simple wooden chair.

There was a slight gap in the backrest, and his wrists were tied behind his back.

He couldn't see why he was tied up, but he could imagine that his ankles were tied to the legs of the chair with the same rope.

In a state where he could hardly move, Suisen found himself in an unfamiliar wooden building.

 "Where... is this...?"

 It was dusty and dim.

The only light source was a small lamp hanging right above him.

Relying on that faint light, he looked around and saw half-destroyed chairs and tables scattered everywhere.

As he shifted his gaze a little, he spotted what seemed to be a counter nearby.

The presence of bottles and barrels mixed in with the chairs and tables suggested that this place was...

"An abandoned tavern in the East District."

 "...!?"

He heard a familiar voice from somewhere, causing Suisen to flinch.

When he turned his gaze in that direction, he saw a shadowy figure sitting on a chair in the dim light.

As the person slowly stood up and approached him, their figure became clearer in the light.

A woman with purple curly hair and a graceful appearance is wearing a dress apron that seems out of place in this rough setting.

"Right now, it's an empty house, and no one is coming, so there's no point in raising your voice."

 "Ms. Sianna Navis...!"

In that moment, Suisen recalled the events in the guest room.

How Sianna had caught him off guard from behind, and that defiant smile of hers.

"W-What on earth is going on...!? What is your purpose in doing this...!?"

Suisen moved his hands and feet in a shaky manner, trying to express that he was tied up.

He had no idea what Sianna's intentions were.

Why had Sianna put him to sleep, brought him to this place, and tied him up? After a while of struggling, Suisen was out of breath, and his breathing echoed in the room.

Suddenly, Sianna lowered her face and spoke in a voice so cold it seemed uncharacteristic of her.

 "...It's Mr. Suisen's fault."

 "Huh?"

"Even though I care for you so much, you didn't respond to my feelings."

When Sianna finally raised her face, intense anger was evident on her features.

Was she angry because Suisen had rejected her confession? Was this some sort of revenge for that? As Suisen pondered this, Sianna began to lose her graceful demeanor and spoke in a careless tone.

"Ah, what a shame. I went through all this trouble to create such a beautiful scenario, and now it's all ruined."

 "Si, Sianna...?"

Sianna began to speak as if she were putting on a grand performance, twirling and dancing.

"The adventurer Suisen Pride, with a devilish beauty that charms many women. Countless women fall for his beauty, and receiving love confessions has become a daily occurrence."

Then, Sianna placed her hand on her chest and closed her eyes as if lamenting.

"However, one day, rumors about his scandalous behavior began to spread within the guild. From that point on, he was harshly rejected by adventurers and many others, leading to a life of loneliness."

Sianna suddenly reached for the light above Suisen's head, creating an emotional scene.

"Amidst this, a female adventurer who had once rejected his feelings extended her hand to him, who was gasping in loneliness."

 "A woman, an adventurer...?"

"No matter how much bad reputation circulated, the female adventurer continued to love Suisen Pride, and he was moved by her unwavering feelings. He took her hand once more. Then, the two made a vow and lived happily ever after... and they lived happily ever after."

 "..."

Hearing Sianna's story, Suisen was left speechless.

He realized that the female adventurer referred to was the "Sianna" right in front of him.

He had once rejected her feelings, yet she continued to care for him, and just moments ago, she had once again confessed her unwavering feelings.

At the very moment he was suffering in loneliness, she had reached out to him as if to light a path.

But the way she spoke made it seem like...

 "No way...!"

A chill ran down his spine.

Suisen, recalling the many misfortunes he had faced, looked at Sianna with disbelief.

"Ms. Sianna Navis's fans were the ones who persistently spread my bad reputation..."

He remembered being attacked by Sianna Navis's fans.

"They even threatened Roezé and Ms. Cosmos on the night road to keep them away from me..."

He once again felt the loneliness he had experienced in the guild.

"Was it all a scheme by Ms. Sianna Navis to isolate me in the guild...?!"

He hoped it was a lie.

With that feeling, Suisen, his head pounding intensely, questioned Sianna.

Then, Sianna, gazing at him with gentle eyes, suddenly opened her mouth wide.

 "Hahaha!!!"

In the desolate remains of the tavern, Sianna's eerie laughter echoed.

It clearly indicated that Sianna Navis was the true culprit behind the series of events.

"To think you only just realized it now, Sir Suisen, you really are a dull yet adorable person!"

Sianna had completely abandoned her previously demure demeanor, continuing to let out her high-pitched laughter.

With a delightfully mischievous smile, she walked over to the bound Suisen, petting his head persistently like a master would with a beloved pet.

"Did you really think it was just the fans going wild? How pure and adorable you are! They are indeed my fans, and with just a word from me, I can control them completely."

"...So, what about your claim that you would persuade the fans to stop their excessive behavior?"

"Haha! There's no way I would do that! Instead, I've been sweet-talking the fans to isolate you even more!"

 "..."

A mix of frustration and anger surged within him.

Realizing that all the loneliness he had felt was due to Sianna standing before him, Suisen bit his lip.

The countless whispers he had grown tired of hearing and the trouble he had caused to those around him──all of it was orchestrated by Sianna to isolate him and make herself out to be a savior.

 "And yet..."

Suddenly, Sianna twisted her previously demure expression, grabbing the shoulder of the chair he was sitting in with a 'Gah!'.

"Not only do you not respond to my feelings! You've gone and given your heart to another woman! What on earth are you thinking!?"

 "..."

As his shoulders were shaken violently, the chair made a frantic 'clutter, clutter!' sound.

Dust swirled up from the floor, illuminated by the light, flickering in his vision.

In the midst of it all, Sianna lets out a hoarse voice, tinged with frustration.

"Why is it not me...!? Why are you so captivated by just a guild staff member!?"

 A perfectly crafted plan.

Indeed, he almost fell right into Sianna's trap.

However, the one small miscalculation for Sianna threw a wrench in this plan.

It was the presence of the guild receptionist, Alium Groke.

"...Don't worry about what others think."

 "Excuse me?"

"I'm a man who lacks confidence more than everyone thinks. It's my weakness that makes me overly concerned about others' opinions."

Recalling the words Alium had said to him, Suisen continues with deep emotion.

"Ms. Alium said those words to me. I'm truly saved from the bottom of my heart by them. They felt like a reprimand directed at my foolish self until now."

He still can't forget that awakening sensation.

The benefactor who reached out to him when he was suffering alone.

She saw through his weakness at a glance and offered words of comfort that felt unparalleled.

And she was the one who taught him the feeling of "like" for the first time.

A person so straightforward, radiating confidence as if reflecting his own weakness.

"That's why I like Ms. Alium."

 "..."

As he says this, rejecting Sianna's feelings once more, she opens her purple eyes wide in surprise.

Then, she stumbles back, standing there in shock.

It might have been better to pretend to have feelings for Sianna, even if it was a lie.

That way, he could have at least gotten through this situation, but he felt he could never give up on this feeling.

No matter what happens to him afterward.

With that resolve, he expresses his feelings, and Sianna, who had been standing still, begins to quietly chuckle.

"Heh... heh heh... I understand now. Just how strong Sir Suisen's feelings are."

Eventually, she leaned forward to peek into his face, bringing her own closer and spilling out an unsettling line.

"Then, please 'prove' it. No matter what happens, that your feelings will not crumble."

 "Prove, it...?"

As she said this, Sianna raised her right hand and suddenly 'snap!' her fingers.

At that moment, a lamp lit up beside them.

Under the light, there was a makeshift platform made of wooden desks, and on it was... An unbelievable "thing"...

 no, an unbelievable "person.".

 "Ah, Ms. Alium!?"

A woman with striking blue hair and a well-defined face.

The familiar outfit was indeed that of the guild's receptionist.

Alium Groke, Suisen's unrequited love, was lying on the platform with her hands and feet bound.
