Volume 1 Chapter 8 How To Raise A Rookie Warrior
After defeating the Flare Bambi.
Rose and I continued our stroll through the forest to hunt monsters.
We kept hunting until just before sunset, and in the end, Rose managed to take down 7 monsters.
One Flare Bambi, 4 Iron Feathers, and 3 Pin Rabbits.
It wasn't a long time, but for a newbie adventurer, that's pretty impressive.
The results showed in a flash of inspiration, and Rose was shaking with excitement as she looked down at the paper.

"I-I can't believe it...! Just today, my level has gone up this much..."
The level that took a whole year to increase by just 2 has jumped up by 4 in just one day.
It's no wonder she's shocked.
"T-This is the power of Mr. Roezé's support skill...! It's such a huge help!"
Hearing that made me genuinely happy.
But to be honest, this growth isn't just thanks to the support skill.
"Well, the effect of the support skill is definitely significant, but I think the divine growth points from our first monster hunts are what really fueled this rapid growth."
"Divine growth points?"
It seemed like an unfamiliar term to her, and Rose looked genuinely puzzled.
Since she's only been registered as an adventurer for a year, it's understandable she wouldn't know.
In fact, I think even seasoned adventurers know about it only a little.
"Divine growth points are the 'nourishment' given to us by the gods in the heavens based on our monster hunting achievements, right?"
"Y-Yes. That's what I've heard..."
"This 'monster hunting results' basically means 'how hard you worked to defeat monsters.' In other words, the more you impress the gods with your efforts, the more divine growth points you get."
"Taking them down in one hit," "defeating them without a scratch," or "using flashy teamwork" can also increase the amount of divine growth points you earn.
By the way, even though I was just helping Rose with support magic, I still got a tiny bit of divine growth points too.
With that in mind, let me explain about the initial hunting divine growth points.
"So, if the monster you defeated is from a species you haven't taken down before, the gods will give you more divine growth points as a way to celebrate your 'spirit of challenge.'."
"Is that why it's called 'initial hunting divine growth points'?"
"Exactly."
When you defeat a monster for the first time, you can earn more divine growth points than usual.
That's why it's called initial hunting divine growth points, and it's one of the reasons why beginner adventurers level up more easily.
And from what I heard from Rose, she has only defeated low-level monsters like slimes in this forest so far.
So today, since she took down 3 different types of monsters for the first time, and all of them benefited from her support skills, that's probably why her level shot up so fast.
As I explained this while heading toward the forest entrance, Rose smiled, looking impressed.
"Mr. Roezé, you're amazing. You know so much."
"Well, with my job class, I can't help but get familiar with this stuff."
It's a job class that helps others grow, so naturally, I ended up knowing a lot about divine growth points.
"Still, I thought Mr. Roezé was just someone who knew a lot about training adventurers. But to find out you're actually a Trainer job class and has the power to help others grow... wow!"
"Well, there aren't many job classes like this, so I didn't expect myself to have a specialized ability for training."
It seems Ms. Terra hadn't mentioned that much.
Rose heard about me from the guild receptionist, Ms. Terra, but it looks like she was told I was just someone knowledgeable about training.
If she was going to say that much, she might as well have revealed that he has the Trainer job class.
"If you have such an amazing job class, you must be in high demand from all the parties, right? Do you have any plans on which party you'll join next?"
"Huh? No, I'm not planning to team up with anyone..."
"Oh..."
Rose suddenly bowed her head, looking surprised.
"By the way, you mentioned that you've had a lot going on because of your job class. I'm sorry for saying something thoughtless."
"It's, it's fine. I'm not really bothered by it."
Now that I think about it, I had only mentioned that I had been through a lot because of my job class.
I seemed to have forgotten that part.
So, she apologized, looking a bit guilty, but honestly, I wasn't that concerned.
"Even though I said I've had a lot going on, I actually think it's better this way since I can live more freely now. I just want to cherish these peaceful days, so I don't want to join a party right now."
"I-I see."
It's not that I have trauma about forming parties.
I initially intended to, but now I simply don't want my calm life to be disturbed, so I doesn't want to team up.
So, there's no need to take it too seriously.
"...But still, I can't help but feel a bit sorry about it."
"Sorry? I'm not really bothered by it, though..."
"Oh, no, it's not about that. I just feel a bit bad for having Mr. Roezé help me grow like this."
"...?"
What does that mean?
"Well, it feels like I'm hogging Mr. Roezé all to myself, getting one-on-one help from someone who's needed at every party."
"..."
Caught off guard by her unexpected words, I found myself momentarily stunned.
Leaving me behind, Rose continued to express her gratitude.
"Once again, thank you, Mr. Roezé."
Seeing her smile made me want to thank her too.
The term "hogging" feels too much for me.
To respond to her words, I'll do my best to help her grow starting tomorrow.
We've been doing well with monster hunting so far, and I believe she'll be able to join the party she aims for soon.
But there's one thing that's bothering me.
After mentally saying "Excuse me," I used my skill, Divine Eye, to check Rose's status.
[Job Class] Rookie Warrior

[Skills] None yet
[Magic] None yet
[Divine Blessing]:
- Strength: E110
- Agility: F70
- Toughness: F95
- Magic: F18

Rose's level has definitely gone up.
But still, it feels like her growth is really slow.
In a year, she could only raise her level by 2, but today she managed to raise it by 4.
That sounds impressive, but I'm helping someone who isn't even level 10 yet.
With the divine growth points from defeating Flare Bambi and other monsters, plus the boost from the support skill, it seems like her growth rate should be better.
Even if her growth speed is lacking, I feel like she should be leveling up more.
Also, I've never heard of the job class "Apprentice Warrior," and the increase in her divine blessing stats is below average──what's up with that?
If her growth is this slow, she should either have some special skill or magic, or at least her divine blessing numbers should be higher to make it worth it.
Is it just that the "Apprentice Warrior" job class is weak?
"Hey? What's wrong, Mr. Roezé?"
"Oh, sorry. It's nothing."
I stopped for a moment, lost in thought, then hurried to catch up with Rose.
For now, I'll join the monster hunt again tomorrow and check my growth rate then.
Even with a slight feeling of unease, we finished our training for the day and headed back to town.
