Volume 7 Chapter 3 Healing Emma
Elk went to a barbecue restaurant in the shopping mall with Scar.
Poseidon tried to join them, but Elshi grabbed him by the neck and dragged him away. Demiurge, Cagliostro, and Emilia seemed to be having a meeting to discuss future security plans.
Elk picked some meat from a big plate that looked like it had enough for 20 people and put it on the grill.
Scar was eating the clearly undercooked meat like it was the best thing ever.
"After sweating like this, meat tastes amazing! Hey Elk, eat more!"
"Y-yes. Um... is the meat cooked properly?"
"Hahaha!!"
Scar kept munching on the raw meat.
Only Elk was cooking the meat before eating it.
Scar finished his 15th glass of raw ale and ordered another.
"By the way, Elk. What's your skill? Is it a skill to stop people from moving and body enhancement?"
"No, it's Telekinesis."
"Telekinesis? Come on, you must be joking... but it doesn't seem like it. So, it's Telekinesis, huh?"
"Do you really believe me?"
"Of course! I know you're not the type to lie. Oh, waitress! More meat, please!!"
Elk enjoyed the nicely grilled meat.
He also ordered some vegetables and mushrooms, and drank cold barley tea.
"The Goddess Holy Church, huh... I could crush it if I wanted, but I have a lot to do myself. I just happened to come back today to collect some money, and then Poseidon's old man said, 'Can you help me out a bit?' So I came to the academy and found you here."
Elk grilled the meat and vegetables, eating a slightly burnt mushroom.
"Scar, are you going somewhere?"
"Ah. I'm going to crush the S-rank dangerous organization, the 'Premiere Knights.' Tch... What kind of knights are they? What they're doing is no different from a bunch of bandits."
"S-rank, huh... Just like the Goddess Holy Church."
"Yeah, it's one of the 4 S-rank dangerous organizations. Heh, tomorrow there will be 3 left."
Scar chewed on raw meat while downing his ale.
Then, he raised his empty glass to order a refill.
"Elk... that fight with you was a good challenge. Let's do it again when I get back."
"Sure. If there's a chance."
"Hahaha!! Come on, eat up!!"
Elk enjoyed the meal with Scar.

After parting ways with Scar, Elk left the shopping mall.
It seemed like the 4th period had just ended, as students were pouring out of the school building.
After a lunch break, there would be classes in the afternoon.
Elk headed to the commerce department classroom to meet Nickes and Emma.
Luckily, he happened to see Emma just as she was coming out of the classroom.
"Oh, Mr. Elk!"
"Hey, Emma. Are you going to lunch now?"
"Yes. Are you going too, Mr. Elk?"
"No, I just had yakiniku... but I could eat a bit more, so if you're going to the cafeteria, I can join you."
"Hehe. Then, let's go to the cafeteria... no, let's go to the shopping mall."
"Alright. Oh, what about Nickes... well, it's fine."
Sometimes, being alone with Emma isn't so bad.
Elk and Emma headed to the shopping mall.
It was crowded since it was lunchtime. Then, Emma took Elk's hand.
"This way. There's a recommended café over here."
"Really? Then I'll rely on you to guide me."
"Yes!"
As they walked through a narrow alley and made their way down a back street, they arrived at a cute little building.
A small sign with a coffee cup design was hanging outside.
Below it, it said 'Cafe Cup.' When they opened the door, there were no customers inside.
"Welcome! Oh, Emmy, you came again!"
"Hi, Auntie!"
"Oh my, is your boyfriend with you today?"
"No, no! It's not like that, Auntie!"
"Ahaha! Come on, sit down, sit down!"
He sat at a small table by the window, and Auntie brought them some water.
Emma ordered a sandwich set, and Elk ordered the same.
Elk looked around the shop and said.
"I didn't know there was a shop in this back alley..."
"I got lost in the shopping mall and found it by chance."
"Really...?"
"The school shopping mall is so big, so if you look around, there are lots of shops like this."
"It feels kind of special, like a place only I know!"
"──Ahaha! Well, I don't make much money here, though."
Auntie placed the sandwich sets in front of us.
Elk quickly reached out and took a bite. The crunchy lettuce, sweet tomato, salty ham, and crispy bread were all so delicious.
"Yummy...!!"
"Really, it's so good!! Auntie's sandwiches are the best!"
"You're overdoing it with the compliments!"
Auntie smiled happily.
She served them coffee after the meal. At this point, there were still no other customers.
Auntie was grinding coffee beans at the counter and said.
"There are many shops like mine in this back alley, where people like you run them without much business sense. Thanks to the school's support, I don't have to worry about starving, so it's more like a hobby for me."
"Is that so? But, is that really okay?"
"Yeah. Principal Poseidon gave us permission. That old man seems to really enjoy going to that little café in the back alley."
"I can understand that...!"
Emma nodded.
The atmosphere was definitely nice. The shops on the main street focused on being flashy and had a lot of seats to serve many customers. The back alley shop was small, but the service felt warm and welcoming.
After finishing their meal, they paid and stepped outside.
"I think I'll come here often."
"Hehe, that sounds good. Actually... I've only told Mr. Elk about this place."
"Oh, nice! Then let's make it our special spot, just me and Emma."
"...Yes!"
Emma smiled happily.
Just a little while ago, he was fighting against Scar, but now Elk felt calm as he prepared for the afternoon classes.
