he adventurer named Bob grinned widely.
Then, as if to show off his well-trained biceps, he flexed his arm.
"Alright, rookies. Let's get this class started!"

"...yawn"
"...Nice to meet you."
Elk, Elwood, and Janet bowed their heads, Soara yawned, and Kaya replied in a small voice.
Bob grinned again and, for some reason, gave a thumbs up.
"You guys are lucky to have me as your instructor. I'm the best among the instructors, and I'll teach you the basics of being an adventurer!!"
"Thank you!! Looking forward to it!!"
Elwood bowed deeply, his eyes shining with excitement.
Bob nodded... Elk thought, 'He seems like a bit of a hassle.' Janet looked at Bob with a similar expression as Elk.
Bob immediately started talking.
"Adventurers. So, what is an adventurer?"
"Is that where we start?"
Janet made a face that clearly showed her dislike.
However, Elwood answered.
"An adventurer is someone who investigates dungeons found all over the world, a dungeon explorer."
"Correct. There are countless dungeons in this world, and they contain treasures, weapons called artifacts, and even magic that can easily destroy a whole country. Bringing back such dangerous items is also an important job."
"I see..."
Elk nodded without thinking. Then, Janet looked at Elk as if he were foolish. Apparently, this was common knowledge.
"Now, what is required for dungeon exploration?"
"Of course, 'strength'!"
"Correct."
Janet answered without hesitation. Bob smiled with satisfaction.
"Dungeons are full of creatures called 'monsters.' To protect ourselves from them, we have to fight. Having strength is a must. Also, it's important to have 'equipment' that helps with strength and 'knowledge' about the monsters!"
Bob's lecture continues.
He talks about the types of dungeons, the tools needed for exploration, and the characteristics of dungeons.
Elk listens to Bob, but Janet looks bored and says,
"These are all obvious things... so boring."
"Haha, that's true. What I just said is something you should already know, well... it's just a check for your mental energy."
"...Haha."
Elk gives a vague smile.
Honestly, Elk felt relieved to hear everything Bob just said again.

"Now, starting tomorrow, we will enter the dungeon... but I want to see how well you can move."
Bob opens his right hand.
He has several rings on his fingers. He commands one of them.

As he says this, several small bipedal lizards appear in front of Bob.

Elk and the others become cautious at the sudden appearance of the monsters.
However, Bob keeps smiling.
"This one is called 'Scavenger.' It's the lowest class of monster that lives in dungeons and appears all over the place. It's also the monster that rookies hunt the most."
"Um, how did you summon the monster just now?"

Bob nods and sends the Scavenger forward.

Two scavengers swung their iron swords as they approached Elwood.

Elwood's figure vanished───in the next moment, the scavengers were sliced into pieces.
The scavengers' bodies burned with blue flames and disappeared without a trace.
"Wow, a sword technique combining 2 skills."
"Yes. It's still not complete, though..."
"Yeah, yeah. If we dive into the dungeon, we'll grow whether we like it or not."
When a monster in the dungeon is defeated, it is wrapped in blue flames and disappears.
As Elk was amazed by this strange sight, Janet stepped forward next.
"Next, go ahead."
"Oh, you're eager. Then───let's start!!"
Two scavengers appeared.
The scavengers ran towards Janet.
Janet unfolded the folding bow she had on her back. She pulled out 2 arrows from her waist and shot them almost at the same time.
The arrows pierced the scavengers' heads... and the scavengers vanished.
"Is that all?"
"Yeah, nice aim... okay, next."
"Oh, I'll go."
Elk raised his hand.
Wearing a new eye patch mask and a hood, he raised both hands horizontally.
He looked like a creepy black scarecrow, or a crow with its wings spread.
"Then, let's begin!!"
Two scavengers rushed towards Elk.
Elk unfolded the blades in both hands, and at the same time, pointed both hands at the two scavengers, causing their movements to freeze.
Then, as if being pulled, they flew straight towards Elk.
Elk simultaneously stabbed the throat of the scavenger flying at him with both blades. Then, the scavenger was engulfed in blue flames and disappeared.
"Oh, the blades aren't covered in blood... Do dungeon monsters not bleed?"
Elk had a strange curiosity.
Just then, Kaya pushed him aside and readied her naginata.
"My turn!"
"Alright. Let's go!!"
The scavenger was summoned again.Kaya held her naginata above her head, spun it around, and swept it sideways. The scavenger's body was cleanly sliced in half, even though it was still a few meters away.
Skill... Elk thought. Then he said,
"Just wind pressure. But to cut so cleanly like that is impressive."
"Hmm. That's quite a good cut──now it's my turn."
Next was Soara's turn.
But Soara shook her head and leaned close to Bob to whisper.
Bob looked surprised and nodded at Soara.
"I see. You don't need to show your strength."
"Yeah..."
It was unclear what they talked about, but Soara didn't fight.
After all the battles were over, Bob nodded in satisfaction.
"Yeah, everyone is really strong. I can't believe you're all rookies... I'm looking forward to tomorrow's practice."
Tomorrow was dungeon practice. Elk felt excited but, for some reason, also a little anxious.
