Volume 5 Chapter 4 New Class
Shakariki said, "The new class will be announced in a few days," but it was actually revealed the day after the explanation.
As soon as Shakariki entered the classroom, he acted like he forgot all about yesterday's explanation.
"Hey, the new class assignments are done, so check the bulletin board in the central square this afternoon. And starting this afternoon, classes will begin in the new classrooms~~~."
It was so sudden.
Even Elk and the others were speechless. The students were amazed at their teacher Shakariki's casualness.
That afternoon, Elk and the others headed to the central square.
The new students from the Skill Department were gathering in the central square.
"A new class, huh... it feels kind of unreal."
Elk said, and Gambo replied,
"Who cares? It's just a different place to study."
"Well, that's true."
Looking next to him, he saw Yato and Fine.
Yato seemed indifferent, while Fine was excitedly looking at the huge bulletin board in the central square.
"Hey, Yato. I hope we can be in the same class!"
"...I guess so."
Yato yawned.
Then, a female teacher appeared in front of the huge bulletin board.
The female teacher used magic on her throat and spoke in a voice that echoed through the square.
"Now, I will announce the new classes. After checking, please move quickly to your assigned class!"
When the female teacher touched the bulletin board, it glowed softly, and letters began to appear.
Students were assigned to classes A to F.
Elk quickly searched for his name and───.
"Hey, I found it."
Class A, attendance number 1.
Since his name was at the very top, he found it in just 2 seconds.
Even more surprisingly,
"...Me too."
"Ah!! Me too!!"
"...Hmm."
"Me too."
Surprisingly, Gambo, Fine, Yato, and Merry were together.
Fine happily hugged Yato.
"Yay!! We're together, Yato!!"
"Yeah. But don't hug me, it's too hot."
"Elk, Gambo too!! Please take care of me!!"
"Ah, me too."
"...Ah."
The 4 checked the bulletin board again and headed to the A-class classroom together.
As Elk walked toward the classroom, he glanced back at the bulletin board.
"..."
"Hm, Elk, what's wrong?"
"Uh..."
Somehow, Elk felt like there was a meaning behind this class division...
He thought he saw Poseidon's face smiling mischievously on the bulletin board.

When they entered Class A, they immediately attracted attention.
"...Heh."
"Hm, what's up, Yato?"
"Don't you notice?"
"...???"
Elk tilted his head at Yato's words.
Then Gambo spoke up.
"Don't you get it? The people here are strong."
"What? How would I know that right away?"
"Most of the faces here are ones I haven't seen in individual or team battles. Hmph... They must not want to show off their skills in front of a crowd. Pathetic."
As Gambo snorted, hostile glares came from inside the classroom.
Yato and Gambo didn't care at all.
But Elk and Fine leaned in to talk.
"Do you understand, Fine?"
"I don't get it. How can you tell if someone is 'strong' just by looking?"
"Well, I don't know either..."
For now, it seemed like seating was free, so the 4 of them sat down together... and Elk noticed.
"Ah."
"...Hey."
Elk was sitting in front of Crown Prince Elwood.
He looked a bit worn out.
Elwood turned to Elk and said quietly.
"I'm sorry..."
"Yes?"
"Rosho, Sarissa... I couldn't protect them."
"Uh, oh, okay."
"Ugh... I couldn't do anything."
"Um..."
Elk finally remembered. Rosho and Sarissa had been kidnapped by the Goddess Holy Church.
There hadn't been any news from the Duke Kinesis family, and he had been too happy about getting a new dorm to remember until now.
Elwood said.
"I sent a letter to the Duke Kinesis family through the royal family. About the kidnapping of Rosho and Sarissa, and also about you."
"Uh-huh."
"I haven't received a reply yet. But I promise to let you know as soon as I do."
"Th-thank you."
He didn't really understand, but it felt lucky.
He could find out what the Duke Kinesis family was doing. Also, if they replied through the royal family, it would be harder for them to take action against Elk.
Just as he thought that, the classroom door opened.
"Okay! Let's start homeroom now!"
In came Shakariki.
Shakariki stood in front of the podium, grinning and bowing.
"I'm Shakariki, the teacher for Class A. Hehe, nice to meet you all!"
The homeroom teacher was surprisingly Shakariki.

"Well, since it's the first day, we usually do introductions, but doing it again feels weird, so please do it on your own time... Anyway, 'Dungeon Practice' will start the day after tomorrow."
Shakariki said while scratching his head.
A class has an attitude that makes it hard to tell if they are motivated or not.
"Tomorrow, a senior adventurer will come to give a lecture about dungeons. Then the day after tomorrow, we will actually enter a dungeon and experience what adventurers do. Everyone, please check your combat outfits and gear by tomorrow. Also, the teams entering the dungeon will have 5 members each, and today we will form 5-member groups... Ah, it's a hassle, so we'll decide by drawing lots. Ummm... here we go."
Shakariki took out a box of lots from the teacher's desk.
Inside were small colored sticks, and he shook the box.
"Okay, please line up and draw one at random. After you draw, split into your teams and introduce yourselves."
Elk and the others lined up at the teacher's desk.
Then it was Elk's turn. Shakariki looked at Elk and smiled widely.
"Hey, 'Scarecrow'! I don't plan to favor you, but personally, I'm looking forward to your performance."
"Um, please don't call me that..."
"Oh really? It suits you... hehehe."
"......"
Elk ignored him and drew a lot.
The color of the stick was black.
"Hmm, that's a fitting color for you."
Elk ignored Shakariki and went to the group with the black stick.
The group had one guy and 3 girls.
The guy was Elwood, and the girls... were all strangers.
"Hey, Elk."
"Ah, hello."
He called Elk by his first name.
They weren't close. In fact, he was someone Elk had beaten in a one-on-one match. They weren't on friendly terms to be calling each other by name with a smile.
Elk looked at the girls.
One was sending a passionate gaze at Elwood, one was blankly staring with her mouth open, and the last one... was looking at Elk.
Especially the last one.
"......"
"Um, is something wrong?"
"......Not really."
She was a girl with long black hair.
She had a vibe similar to Yato. Elk couldn't help but look at Yato in the red stick team again, then back at the black-haired girl.
"She's not a relative. Black hair, black eyes, and her features... it seems like you really struggle to tell apart people from Yamato."
"Oh, no."
"I'm just interested in you, the one who defeated the 'Man-Slaying Yasha Princess.'"
"Yasha Princess?"
"...Hmph."
After saying that, the girl turned away.
Then, Elwood clapped his hands.
"Everyone. Let's start with introductions. I'm Elwood."
"I'm Elk, nice to meet you."
When Elk said this, the girl who had been giving Elwood a hot gaze glared at Elk.
"I'm Janet. Ah, Sir Elwood... pleased to meet you."
Then, a spaced-out girl suddenly came to her senses and said,
"...Soara. I'm hungry."
Finally, the black-haired girl said, sounding bored,
"Shigaraki Kaya... Kaya Shigaraki."
Elwood, Elk, Janet, Soara, Kaya.
The 5-member team was ready to take on the dungeon practice.
