Volume 2 Chapter 3 Entrance Ceremony
Elk eats a sandwich and head to the auditorium for the entrance ceremony.
The auditorium, which can hold thousands of people, is really big.
Since the seats are free, he sits next to Emma, Nickes, and Merry.
Then, he looks around.
"What's wrong?"
"Uh, nothing..."
Nickes tilts his head.
Elk is looking for Rosho and Sarissa.
The last time they met was when they were 10. It's been 6 years, so they probably won't recognize him right away.
They must think Elk is dead.

"Mr. Elk..."

About ten minutes pass. The auditorium fills up with new students.

The other was a girl with long black hair in a ponytail, named Yato.

When Elk asked Emma, she just tilted her head.
Elk thought, "Maybe Rosho or Sarissa will come out," but he was wrong. The world was indeed vast. Being a new student representative definitely meant they were outstanding.
Then, Nickes whispered.
"I don't know about that girl Yato, but I know the guy... Crown Prince Elwood of the Garway Kingdom. A genius with 3 skills... a triple skill genius."
"Crown Prince, really?"

Nickes sighed.
When he looked at Merry, she seemed to be gazing at something in admiration.
Nickes continued.
"That black-haired girl, Yato, right? Black hair is a sign of being from the island nation 'Yamato'... I think there were guests from Yamato in the past."

She had silky black hair tied in a ponytail. If Elk looked closely, the hair was tied with a red braided ribbon, and a small silver bell was attached, making a soft jingle.
Standing on the stage with a sharp expression, she looked really cool. Elk thought so.
Merry said quietly.
"That girl is super strong..."
"Oh, Merry is interested. This could get interesting."
"Don't tease me, big brother. Seriously... You can tell just by watching. It's like her movements are so precise, or rather, her beautiful swordsmanship has taken human form..."
"...What does that even mean?"
"Anyway, that girl is strong. I want to have a match with her."
Merry grinned.
She was saying formal things like the new students' mindset and how she would do her best.
Elk was getting bored.
"Yawn... I'm sleepy."

"Yeah, yeah. Hey, Emma... Is today just the entrance ceremony?"

Finally found them.

Elk smiled at Nickes.

He seemed a bit excited.

These 2, and... Duke Kinesis. Elk's father.
"Just watch me..."
Elk could no longer hear the new student representative's speech.
