Volume 11 Chapter 8 Conclusion?

Volume 11 Chapter 8 Conclusion?

The next evening, Al used the teleportation magic tool to return to the research tower. When he teleported back to the private room he had prepared, he was surprised to find Ruella waiting for him, even though he thought no one would be there.

 "Teleportation isn't instant, huh?"

Al nodded reluctantly at her words. It might be a special feature of this magic tool, but teleportation actually takes about ten seconds from start to finish. During that time, he couldn't move at all. If he encountered an enemy while teleporting, he could easily be killed. This was a weakness he didn't want many people to know about.

"I see. That's why it's dangerous to use it outdoors."

"Yes. So, you need someone to protect the area and other conditions too."

Ruella nodded in agreement. But what was she doing in this room?

"I'm sorry. I wanted to see what the teleportation spell was like. I thought if I came early, I might catch it... It was close. If I had come a little later, I would have missed it. I would have liked to try it myself, but it seems impossible right now, so I'll pass."

Saying this, Ruella chuckled softly. She seemed surprisingly curious. However, as she mentioned, the current teleportation destination included the Tempest grave, so it wasn't something she could try out.

"Got it, I'll remember that. If there's a chance for you to try it, I'll let you know. Sorry for now."

Al said apologetically. Ruella shook her head, telling him not to worry about it.

"Well, it seems like everything is ready for you to take. My father proudly said that he prepared over 30 types of plants and even wrote down how to plant them. Also, the wyvern is in such good condition that it should sell for a high price."

While Al discussed with Malachi the golem, they figured the most valuable items would be the metals and the animals. Since they really needed the metals, the price of the wyvern would determine how many animals they could buy.

They decided on a maximum of 6 sheep, 6 pigs, and 20 chickens. The sheep would provide wool and milk, the pigs breed quickly, and the chickens lay eggs. Having more would be better, but they had limited land for livestock, and too many animals would mean too much feed. So, they agreed that this number and variety were just right.

If the wyvern didn't sell, Al had only about 30 gold coins, making it hard to gather that many animals. But now, he felt relieved to have some extra money.

 "Are they ready then?"

"Yeah, I already put the supplies in the magic bag, and the livestock are in cages in the courtyard, away from people."

At Ruella's words, Al smiled brightly. The two of them headed to the courtyard. There, Guildmaster Levy and Barbara were waiting.

"Al, have you heard from Ruella? When I showed the wyvern's body to the butcher, he praised its excellent condition. It looks like we can get a lot of blood and meat from it. There's a legend that wyvern meat has rejuvenating effects. They say the blood might have strength-boosting effects too, so it should sell for a high price."

 "Is it delicious?"

Since it has such a good reputation, it must be quite promising.

"Yeah, I haven't eaten it yet, but the butcher said it's plain but really tasty with a happy face. I had them cut some, so you can take it home."

That's great! He'll take it home and eat it for dinner with Patricia and the others.

"Because of that, I prepared the necessary items that you told me about, Al, and it seems like I can make a good profit, so I put 50 gold coins in the magic bag along with the materials. I hope for even more profit."

Guildmaster Levy said this and handed the magic bag to Al. All the materials Al requested should be inside. It has been really useful, and he wants to return this magic bag someday, but it seems he can't do that yet. Al started putting the animals from the cages in the courtyard into the magic bag one by one.

"Thank you. I'll head back now."

 "Al!"

Ruella called out to Al just as he was about to teleport.

"If you have time, could you stop by Naresh's place? He's really worried about you. He wrote that he felt terrible for not being able to help with Lady Patricia and just left everything to you. He's been busy with the refugees from Count Senet and hasn't even gone to Advanced School since summer break..."

Al had heard that Naresh was gaining fame in the border city of Parker, but things might be tough for him. He had also sent Orson to Channing Village to create an alibi, and Orson should be arriving soon. After transporting the materials, it might be a good idea to discuss what to do next with Patricia and Joanna.

"I understand. If possible... I'll try to show up then. Guildmaster Levy, Ms. Barbara, I hope you're doing well."

Al said this as he activated the teleportation magic tool. For now, he registered the courtyard as his teleportation destination. Ruella had told him that people should avoid entering the courtyard at night for a while. She also mentioned that she would adjust the 'Magic Sense' security devices.

 "Come back again!"

Ruella waved her hand cheerfully. Behind her, Guildmaster Levy and Barbara were also smiling. Soon, the surrounding scenery changed to that of the research tower.

* * *

 "Welcome back! How was it?"

Patricia approached Al, looking worried. She took his hand, eager for his response, and peered into his face. Next to her was Joanna, who seemed to have been waiting for Al's return too. They hadn't talked about when he would be back, but both had clearly been waiting for him. Patricia's face was so close that Al blushed and scratched his head shyly.

"Ah... it seems like the Levy merchant guild people are okay. Mr. Sanjay and His Excellency Viscount Eugene gave up on finding Patricia and returned to the capital. For now, we can relax a bit."

"That's good... What about Aunt Tara?"

Al hesitated on how to answer. He thought that if he told Viscountess Tara that Patricia was alive, it would quickly spread to others, so he decided not to tell her. But he wondered how much of his thoughts he should share.

"Um, I haven't told Viscountess Tara that Patricia is alive. I talked with Guildmaster Levy and thought it would be better not to say anything... She was wearing black clothes and had a sad expression..."

When Patricia heard this, she looked a bit confused and sad.

"That's true... But Aunt Tara has always acted a bit strangely, yet she was kind to me. I want to tell her at some point."

As she said this, Joanna gently placed her hand on Patricia's shoulder.

"Princess, now is not the right time. At this moment, the decisions of Lord Al and Guildmaster Levy are unavoidable. Once the fighting in the Tempest Kingdom calms down a bit, we will have another chance to meet."

Patricia nodded with a slightly gloomy expression. Seeing her face, Al forced a smile and raised his voice cheerfully.

"Patricia. Have you ever eaten wyvern meat? I heard it's really delicious. I brought some, so let's all eat together."

"Really? I've never tried it. What does it taste like?"

"Alright, let's go to the tower. I'm sure the high-rank worker golem on the 8th floor will cook it well. We can talk more while we eat."

Saying that, Al started to run.

"Wait a minute, Mr. Al, livestock! Livestock!"

Joanna hurriedly chased after him. Patricia also started running after them.
