Volume 12 Chapter 14 The Day My Name Was Called
Renril's first memory was of being on the outskirts of Nilfheim, carrying a heavy load for some villagers who were Demons.
At that time, Renril had a young man's body, just like now, but that was all. No memories, no knowledge, no magic――nothing.
So, Renril didn't even know his own name, and was carrying the load.
Renril wondered why he had to carry the load, but when he tried to stop, the villagers would hit him. So, to avoid getting hit, Renril continued to carry the load.
The place he was taken to was a small, cold village with only a few inhabitants.
Inside the house, some demons were laughing and eating, while others were left outside, frozen.
Among them, Rollo stood out.
With all 4 limbs cut off, n*ked, and in a state that would make even demons speechless, Rollo was tied to a tree, left outside in the snow.
Her face was swollen, and her original appearance was unrecognizable. The limbs that were cut off were not the only injuries――there were many bruises, and her lower abdomen was filthy.
Renril was taken aback by this sight. It was a horrific state, but Renril couldn't look away.
Rollo noticed Renril. When Rollo barely lifted her face, Renril realized she was still alive.
So, when Rollo spoke, Renril froze.
'...Eniu...?'
Now he can understand. With a swollen face and bloodied tongue, Rollo called out "Fenrir?" But Renril didn't know anything back then and couldn't read the situation like that.
'...Did you say Renril?'
'...'
Renril's expression made Rollo shut her mouth. Renril approached Rollo, undeterred.
The villager demon shouted "Hey! Where are you going!" but Renril didn't listen, grabbing Rollo's shoulder.
'Do you know me? Who am I? Why am I here? What's my name? What's your name? What should I do?'
The rapid-fire questions were stopped when the villager demon knocked Renril down. After that, Renril was beaten up multiple times, had his limbs chopped off except for being treated similarly to Rollo, and was tied up outside.
Seeing Renril like that, Rollo chuckled to the side and said:
'Haha, you're an idiot... If you had just listened to what they said, it wouldn't have turned out like this...'
Renril couldn't help but laugh at how Rollo could still make light of the situation. Then Renril said to Rollo:
'Hey, even though I don't understand, are you my family or something? Then, I'm definitely your brother, right?'
Rollo laughed so hard she was on the verge of hyperventilating. She laughed so much her eyes rolled back, and in the end, she got her head chopped off and died.
So, after Rollo revived and finally took on a decent form, she said to Renril, who was still battered and bruised.
'Yeah, that's right~! Well, nice to meet you, big brother ♡.'
After that, Renril and Rollo suffered through numerous brutal ordeals in that village. Even when they tried to escape, they'd end up facing similar hardships in the next place they fled to.
Each time, Renril and Rollo would suffer together, side by side. They were extremely weak, powerless demons, after all.
Still, they didn't give up on each other and believed that sticking together through thick and thin was what family bonds were all about.
Renril's plan was quite impressive, if he does say so himself.
"Those 3, you know? Leader Kyrie is stronger than I thought, but the others are basically pushovers. Let's set a trap and get ahead of them by taking out their decoys first."
"Yeah, that's right! With your current magic, big brother, it should be a piece of cake. Take care of them, then~!"
It wasn't that hard to put the plan into action.
Their target, Klainatzirks, was essentially Kyrie's one-man team in terms of combat power.
Kyrie was strong. If they let their guard down, they'd be killed in an instant, no question. He had sorcery that was that powerful.
However, on the other hand, Kyrie was absolutely weak against Rollo. As long as Rollo was around, Kyrie would be forced to retreat from the scene.

Renril would wait for an opening, catch the beastman demon Lillu with Gleipnir, and Rollo would hold off Kyrie when they came to rescue her.
All Renril had to do was stall until he was done, and Rollo would take care of the rest. Kyrie would be sealed away, and the giant Gand would be dealt with in the same way.
The power to turn the tables, Sirina the left general, is already gone. Klainatzirks alone wouldn't be a match for Kyrie even if they paid attention.
So Renril pretended to scatter and retreated to the rooftop of the building, chasing after them and then ambushed them when they let their guard down.

With Gleipnir, Renril grabbed Lillu's leg and lifted her up, hanging her on the wall. Then Kyrie and Gand stopped in their tracks, eyes wide open.
"Lillu! We'll help her now!" "No way, it's impossible♡ Lillu-neechan can't be saved!"
Just as Kyrie was about to rush in to rescue her, Rollo suddenly appeared and restrained them. With just a slight movement of his fingers, they sensed danger and escaped.
And so, the capture of Lillu, the beast girl and one of Klainatzirks, was complete. All that was left was to eat while being watched by Rollo.
"Well, Renril-nii can take his time eating. I'll keep an eye on the movements of the remaining 2."
"Alright, I'm counting on you, Mung."
"Do your best!"
Mung thought to himself, "He's quite reliable," and Renril descended to the ground.
He cut the Gleipnir that was holding Lillu, and as she fell, he grabbed her neck and restrained her.
Then Lillu shouted.
"Leader! Leaderrrr!"
Her way of shouting was like a child who had lost its parent. Renril's eyes widened at her desperate cries.
"Help me! Help me! Leader! Leader aaaaahhh!"
With a pathological desperation, Lillu screams. Even though screaming won't change the situation, she doesn't understand that and just screams at full force.
"Leader! Leader! Help me! Hurry! Hurry and help me!"
Renril thinks to himself.
...What's with this guy, anyway?
"Shut up, it's noisy~. Brother, can you just eat already~?"
Rollo covers her ears, making a disgusted face. But Renril dislikes Lillu's noisy behavior even more.
He clenches his fist.
"Shut up, you're being too loud!"
He hits her. "Gyah!" Lillu lets out a short cry.
This is a common method to shut up a noisy opponent. Renril has done this many times before.
But Lillu doesn't shut up. She starts crying, but her voice remains unwavering.
"Ow! Ow! Leader! Leader!"
"...What's wrong with you?"
Again, he clenches his fist. He hits her. He hits her again and again until she's silent.
"...Uh, brother?"
Rollo looks at Renril with a puzzled expression. But Renril is too angry, and his hand won't stop.
And so, no matter how many times he hits her, Lillu won't stop crying and screaming. Her pitiful screams and pleas for help echo through a corner of the bazaar.
"Ow! Ow! Help me! Leader, help me!"
But even if she does this, no one comes to help. No one comes. That's the kind of place Nilfheim is. If someone cries out for help, they'll just close their doors and ignore it.
Kyrie must be the same. The more Lillu screams, the more they'll know that Lillu is safe. They must know that time is on their side. So, they're probably leaving quickly, one step at a time.
So, that's good. It's not him, Renril, who's being stupid, but rather Lillu, who doesn't understand the reality.
While punching, Renril says,
"You, why are you saying 'help me'? You guys are family, right? If you got caught, wouldn't you run away? Why do you want to involve your family? Don't you think about how they'll get caught too?"
"Help meeeee! Leader! Leaderrrr!"
"That's exactly what I mean."
Renril continues to punch with the same rhythm. "Agh!" Lillu cries out in pain.
"If you're family, you'd say 'run away.' You wouldn't say 'help me' even if your mouth was torn apart. You're just causing more harm, that's all. Or are you counting on someone else? You've never been helped by anyone else before, have you? No, no!"
"Leaderrr...! Help, me...!"
As Renril punches more, Lillu's voice grows smaller. But even so, Renril sneers at Lillu, who's still begging for help.
"...Is this really the last piece of peace I'll have? It's getting pretty pathetic..."
But whatever, it's fine now. he's not annoyed anymore. He's just eat.
Renril bites into Lillu's skull.
When he eats, the demon body becomes unnaturally soft. Or maybe his biting power just increases.
"No, stop, help, me? Ta...uu...? Ii..."
Renril crunches into Lillu's skull and eats away. He crushes the skull, sucks out the brain, and is satisfied as Lillu's screams fade away and disappear.
As he eat, he's recalling Lillu's memories. Renril is learning about how much Kyrie trusted her, how much Kyrie helped her, and the reasons behind it.
After finishing the meal, he licks the remaining blood from his lips, and then he mutter to himself.
"That's right... you were helped because you called out for help, didn't you?"
But this time, it didn't go that way. It didn't go that way at all. Kyrie didn't sacrifice herself to save Lillu.
That's how it ended this time.
"Big brother, are you done eating~?"
"Ah, sorry for taking too long."
"Aww, it's okay~! Big brother always does things at his own pace, and that's fine~!"
"You always say one too many things, Rollo."
Renril pinches Rollo's nose, and Rollo squirms. Satisfied with their usual exchange, Renril releases Rollo's nose.
"Well, off you go. It's almost time for our master to arrive. It's not good to meet them in this state."
"Okay! I'll leave it to you, big brother!"
Rollo runs off. After seeing him off, he turn around to find someone watching him from the top of the building.
"...I heard the screams and rushed over with all my might. I was a bit late, though."
"Isn't that Sandra-sama? You're the first to arrive. You're really like a cat, aren't you?"
He feels a surge of power building up inside him, like his body is about to burst. He sees, so this is what it means to be complete. If he can grasp this power and release it, can he return to his original form?
"Well, it looks like not many people are gathered over there."
He grasps the surging power and release it.
"It's okay, Sandra-sama is strong, so let's start with one shot, shall we?"
Renril's body suddenly expanded greatly from the inside out.
