Volume 8 Chapter 29 The Devil's Act
The next morning, after receiving an order from the council, I gave the villagers a command.
The content was to 'offer their magic to summon the evil god,' as explained in the council. Of course, I wouldn't do it. I would only make them do it.
I drew a magic circle-like pattern in the center of the village and formed a circle around it with the villagers. Then, they chanted.
I didn't understand the chant very well. When I asked Sur, he said it was a demonic language devised by demons so that humans couldn't understand it. Demons seem to want to outsmart us that much.
"But."
I muttered, sitting down a little distance from the magic circle. I was casually watching the villagers chant without a doubt.
"Demons, they're all about deceiving others, and they never think about being deceived themselves."
Well, it's fun to be deceived too. Still, they have a very aggressive way of thinking.
"What do you mean?"
Sandra, who was standing next to me, asked, and I shrugged.
"I'm saying that this sorcery of 'offering magic' isn't just that, right?"
A scream went up.
It was the scream of the demons who were surrounding the magic circle and offering their magic. They were drained of their magic until their bodies were completely withered, and one by one, they fell down.

We all got on the giant ice bird that Ice had prepared. We're going to fly straight to our destination.
But then, the siblings who had come to us first in this village appeared. "Master!" "Master~!?" They called out to us loudly.
"Where, where are you going!? Like yesterday, I need treatment and...!"
"Yeah, yeah! Besides, my magic's completely empty, so can you take me hunting for food?"
I grinned and replied.
"Don't worry! By the time we're done, I'll bring back over a thousand sl*ves!"

"Yay! Master's amazing! I don't really get it, but I totally agree that there should be more sl*ves lower than Rollo!"
The demon siblings don't really understand my words but they're happy anyway. Seeing them like this, demons are so innocent, aren't they? They betray you innocently, but I still don't hate them.
The ice bird flapped its wings. "Let's... go...!" With Ice's voice, the ice bird took off.
Riding on an ice giant bird that can carry 2 people, we flew through the sky. Catching an updraft and turning, we were already flying high above the village.
"Ice, it's over there. The village beyond that forest. There's a village where an evil god is about to be revived."
"Then, let's go straight from here, okay...!"
The ice bird glided swiftly. It crossed the forest in one breath and descended, catching the wind.
"Hey! They're doing it!"
Looking, a very large and intricate magic circle was drawn in the big village square. But that's just for me and Mudi who can see it with our Ajna Chakra. Toxy muttered, "Huh? What?"
"I see. So that magic circle is woven with magic power."
In the center of the magic circle, several blindfolded and gagged women and children were lying. A simple barrier was set up so that it couldn't be seen from the village entrance.
Meanwhile, at the entrance, a demon who seemed to be Bael's servant was standing with Bael's familiar for some reason.
"Looks like they're having a fight."
Clay said. I send my Ajna Chakra to the scene to check what kind of exchange is taking place.
'As I announced the other day, I've come to collect a 20% tax. Pay up immediately or I'll execute you one by one.'
'W-wait a moment...! I'll prepare it right now...! H-here! Hurry up, you guys!'

Apparently, the servant was in charge of collecting taxes, and the familiar was a watchdog. And the one they were dealing with was the chairman of the council. The village head's act of being oppressed was too good.
Of course, what the chairman was pushing for wasn't the preparation of various offerings as taxes. The villagers were raising their blades at the women and children who had been rolled into the center of the magic circle as sacrifices.

Ordered by Bael through the familiar, the demon servant killed the chairman. The chairman's head fell off easily. "Now then, let's collect taxes and move on to the next village." "Yes, Bael-sama," the 2 of them advanced.
And then, magical power circulated in the magic circle.
A black light appeared from among the sacrifices. For a moment, I thought I saw a strange black blinking, and then the sacrifices exploded.
In the center of that flesh and blood, the man stood.
Standing in the center of the spreading magic circle of flesh and blood, the man exuded a distorted presence. His skin was as white as a corpse, and so was his hair. His luxurious clothes were faded in an unnatural way. At his waist was a huge horn.
"Wade, take a good look."
Looking down at the scene, Mudi said.
"That's the evil god. A fallen god, sacrificed for evil rituals and selfish desires. His divinity has been inverted, and he's become like a ghost. But, even so, he is a god."
Bael's followers who had invaded the village thus confronted the evil god. "Hm...? There's a strange fellow. Well, whatever. Collect from him," Bael ordered, and his follower replied, "Yes!"
In response, or not, the evil god took the horn and put it to his mouth. He took a deep breath.
And then, he blew it loudly.
"Ugh!"
It was a huge, majestic, and distorted sound that made me involuntarily tremble. I could clearly tell that something bad was about to begin. It was a sound that made that clear.
'Guuuu...!? Ah! Have you changed your mind? Kill him!'
'Ahh'
Following Bael's orders, the servant approached the evil god. Immediately after, the servant was easily defeated. ...What did he do?
'Wh...!? What, what are you?! Ah! I see! So this is the real aim of the fools! Summon this! And destroy me, right?!'
'Hahahaha! It's too late to realize this now, you damn lord! Come on, evil god! Destroy him!'
The villager who ordered the evil god with a loud laugh was defeated like Bael's servant. He was scattered into pieces of meat. But even so, the evil god took a step towards Bael Castle.
'――――Hah! You think you're so tough, huh? You're a demon god or something! Well, bring it on! I'll take you on with all my might! With my powerful magic artillery, I'll blast you to pieces!'
"Now is the time. Clay, let's take the first shot."
"Leave it to me, Wade-kun."
Clay jumps off the ice bird and lands with Typhon.
Boom.
The rumbling sound of the giant Typhon's landing shook the village. The ground was shaken up, the soil peeled off, houses collapsed, and people collapsed, unable to bear it.
"Come on! We'll follow Clay!"
I used gravity magic on everyone to make their landing safe, and then jumped off the bird. One after another, each of us fell from a high place. We cut through the air and approached the ground, We landed gently from a few meters above the ground.
The surroundings were a mess. Clay's Typhon turned everything upside down. It was so funny to me.
"What's going on?! What's happening now?! You guys are... the Demon King's Investigation Team?!"
"Ouch!" "What?!" "Who!?" "I don't know!" "Who is it?" "Do you know the damn lord?" "Who is it?" "Who are you?"
Bael was shaken through his familiar. None of the villagers knew us, so they were confused and asking, "Who are you?" I chuckled and glared at him, "Hey, Bael..."
I ignored all the questions and doubts from the demons. We would do what we wanted to do. In other words, we would destroy them. All our plans and schemes, We will crush all the pleasure and pain.
First, kill everyone who's in your way or annoying you.
I gave orders.
"Let's go everyone! We'll have 2 squads! The squad against the evil god is me, Mudi, Ice, and Toxy! The squad against Bael is Clay, Sandra, Philia, and Sur!"
We'll split into 4 groups for each major boss. The devil and the evil god. As the first enemies of equal rank to face in hell, it's perfect for a preliminary battle against the Demon King.
After a breath, I spoke.
"Kill them all! Use all your strength from above to crush them and break their hearts! Kill the strong ones mercilessly! Instill fear in the weak demons!"
'Got it!'
All of our allies got into battle mode. Bael's familiar said, "Damn! I don't really get it, but if you come at me, I'll just crush you guys!", The evil god silently puts his mouth on the horn again.
A great melee battle has begun on the outskirts of Nilfheim.
