Volume 7 Chapter 7 On the Traveling - A Gift to Moruru and 'Oath'

Volume 7 Chapter 7 On The Traveling - A Gift To Moruru And 'Oath'

Roman had just finished playing with Geas.

"That was a really simple Geas. You make a promise to a god, and in return, you get power. But this time, we didn't ask for power, so we only got a light punishment."

"It's easy to understand once you try it."

What I realized was that it's surprisingly easy to make a Geas with someone else. As long as you're the target, you can involve everyone present.

In other words, Geas can be used as a buff for myself, or as a debuff to bind others, and it can even be used as a divine punishment attack. If you master it, it's incredibly powerful, I quickly realized.

―――After playing with Geas a few times, everyone dispersed and started doing their own things. Outside the carriage, the sun had already begun to set.

Moruru had been taken to the lead carriage by Ridge, and the siblings were engaged in a specialized discussion about blacksmithing.

Windy had gone off to hunt for tonight's dinner ingredients using wind magic, saying they'd be back soon. It seemed like everyone had relaxed and returned to their natural states.

I was also analyzing Roman and 'Oath', thinking to myself, and verifying it.

"Can 'Oath' really master this Geas?"

"Yes. As a druid magician, I've met him before, but he's a terrifying user."

Roman looked down, speaking in a low voice.

"Vision, internal organs, sleep itself, and several family members..."

I widened my eyes. Roman continued.

"He made a promise to a god, sealed it, and gained power. There aren't many people who can continue to offer such a great sacrifice to a god for years."

 "...How strong is he?"

"The phrase 'nothing can stop him' perfectly describes his raw strength."

Roman shot me a straight, piercing gaze.

"If he swings a sword, it will cut; if one tries to deflect it, it will lose its meaning. He doesn't have the strength to sweep a wide area like commander-in-chief, but he has the power to be unstoppable and unbeatable."

"And on top of that, Geas is binding other."

"Yeah. That's why the king didn't allow the Commander-in-chief to engage in combat with 'Oath'. The Commander-in-chief has a strong physical body, so he doesn't defend much. But 'Oath's blade can cut down the Commander-in-chief."

That makes sense. It's clear that Sieg and 'Oath' don't get along. Sieg can attack with just wind pressure, but that won't work against an opponent with a certain level of power.

Besides, Sieg will probably act without worrying about Geas. It's easy to see him getting caught in a trap. Alex's judgment is correct.

"On the other hand, if it were me, I'd have an eye on it."

"A simple attack wouldn't work on Wade-kun. You have a top-level, immortal physical body, so."

It seems that getting cut down is a given. Alex will complain about it when they meet next.

But, hmm. How effective would an attack from my side be? For example, if I could use direct gravity magic, I could gain the upper hand at that point.

"Let's try to investigate a bit."

 "Yes?"

I used my second eye, Ajna Chakra, to try to use clairvoyance with the information I have now. I closed my right eye with my middle finger and opened my Chakra, relying on the information to search for shadows.

Under my middle finger, under my eyelid, my eyeball is moving around. The Ajna Chakra in me is selecting and filtering out countless pieces of information.

I did something similar when I helped Frain against the Puppet Master. In reality, I was able to find it that way.

But I couldn't find it. Geas is binding itself strongly, and within that, it's building up its power, so it should stand out clearly.

 I opened my right eye.

 "Wade-kun?"

"Just now, I tried to search for 'Oath', but I couldn't find him. Maybe 'Oath' is completely immune to direct magic attacks."

"...This is surprising. Yes, that's correct. Magic doesn't work on him. ———Did you just confirm that directly?"

"Ah, so that's how it is. But it's not magic, though."

"...It's from Platinum torch, 'Handless' inheritance, Chakra, right?"

"Did you hear that from Alex?"

I shrugged my shoulders and then let out a breath.

"I see, so it's finally clear. It's a bit unsettling, though. Even if I'm on the same level as Sieg, it feels like I'm dealing with someone like that."

"But your lips is smiling, you know."

"Yeah, I guess so. The stronger the enemy, the more fun it is, after all."

I chuckled and looked back at Roman. "It seems like a solid plan," Roman said with a wry smile.

"Then, let's try it out lightly once and think about it again. From what I've heard, it seems like Sieg's ability to not let the enemy escape is low. I think reconnaissance will get through."

"Not letting the enemy escape is the Commander-in-chief's specialty, so compared to that, this method might work too."

I nodded. For now, this plan is good enough. We still don't have enough information. We haven't even made contact with the enemy yet. It's not good to get too caught up in thinking about it.

I let out a long "Phew" and relaxed a bit. Then, I changed the subject and asked Roman,

"So, what's the gift Alex gave to Moruru?"

"Ah, that thing... I'll tell you in a low voice, so don't get too surprised and loud."

 "Huh? Uh, yeah..."

I leaned in to listen to Roman. Roman whispered in my ear.

"The king has summoned 'Echidna, the oldest ancient dragon' as Moruru-chan's educator. Moruru-chan is going to master the ancient dragon's magic and become Wade-kun's power."

 "Huh?"

I pulled away and looked at Roman's face. His expression was dead serious.

 "Is that for real?"

 "Yes."

"I, uh, I never thought I'd meet a mythical existence in my life..."

"They do exist, though. And unlike gods, Typhon and Hydra, who are treated as equals, aren't they being summoned by your friends?"

 "Yeah, that's true..."

 We're whispering to each other.

To be honest, when you say "Typhon Hydra", it's exactly that. But I never thought I'd actually meet an ancient dragon from the mythological era in person.

You could say, what can I say, Typhon and Hydra are like strong mascots that were summoned. I had a part of me that treated myths as separate entities, but now I realize that.

 "Living ancient dragon, huh..."

Anyway, it's clear that this journey won't be a half-hearted one, just for Moruru to get stronger, and that's just one act.
