Volume 6 Chapter 35 Fist of the Dragon, Sieg

Volume 6 Chapter 35 Fist Of The Dragon, Sieg

 I've noticed something about Sieg.

He's a total airhead. Friendly and outgoing, he looks strict but is actually easygoing, and he's kind of out there.

I can tell from his wild behavior, like taking me outside as a prisoner and challenging me to a fight. He does what he wants first and thinks about common sense later.

Watching Sieg, I realized that common sense doesn't seem to matter at all to him.

――As I'm being blown away by Sieg's punches, I couldn't help but think about it.

 "Whoaaa!?"

I can understand getting thrown into a wall and breaking it, but it's crazy that Sieg's punch can destroy the entire room with me in it.

As I fly through the air, I notice Sieg looking at me from below.

 "I see."

I use my magic to gather all the debris around me.

 "This is just the beginning."

Sieg leaps forward. I create a wall using the debris and my crystal sword.

 Destruction.

As expected, the wall I built is no match for Sieg. But if I can make him use a single attack, I'll have achieved my goal.

"Wow, Wade, that's a huge sword."

"Yeah, I don't really know how to use it yet, so I thought I'd make it as big as possible."

Durandal. I put my magic power and the intention to 'enlarge' it into my hand, and the sword grows huge, splitting the castle in 2.

I use gravity magic to assist and swing the sword down at normal speed.

 It's not very impactful.

The sword creates a fine line in the castle and mountains. The feedback was really subtle, like cutting tofu with a knife.

"Wow, this sword is amazing. Sandra called it, Durandal, right? It's incredible."

But of course, Sieg avoided this blow. As we fell freely, he looked at me with surprise.

"That sword is amazing. If I win, lend it to me."

 "Just lending it is okay?"

 "Then give it to me."

 "No way."

 "Can't be helped..."

 Is he giving up?

The long sword shrank to the size of a short sword. It was more than enough in the blink of an eye. The range of this change and the short time it took.

I used gravity magic on Sieg, making him float in the air and then landed.

 "Huh, the ground isn't coming."

"When I used Object Point Shift before, it was countered by the grip strength of my feet. Even if it's Sieg, if you float completely, there's nothing you can do."

 "Is that so?"

"I feel like something's going to break, so I'll do what I want right away."

I slammed Durandal into floating Sieg. But it wasn't just a swing.

I accelerate the sword tip's speed at the starting point using Repulsion.

I reduce its weight with Weight Reduce.

Then, just before impact, I increase the power with Weight Increase.

With this, its destructive power will be maximized at the moment of direct hit.

Gravity magic is a magic that requires an understanding of timing. So, swing a light object with all your might, and make it heavy at the moment of impact.

In that sense, the sword called Durandal was a weapon made for me.

The timing of the initial swing is crucial. The sword shrinks down to the size of a dagger. When it's swung with great force, it expands to its full size, dealing massive impact. And what's being swung down is a giant's greatsword.

Sieg seemed interested in it and didn't try to avoid it. As a result, he was hit directly. With a much greater impact than when he cut the castle, Sieg was blown away somewhere.

And I looked down at Durandal.

My gravity magic, which had increased several times compared to before, was nothing compared to Durandal. The range of instant change is so vast that the limit is not visible.

There, feeling something like a will, I order Durandal to "become heavy." The longsword-sized Durandal became just that. The tip of the sword is placed on the ground. It gouges the ground and sinks.

 "It's an amazing sword, Wade."

Looking back at Sieg, I was at a loss for words. Sieg is bleeding from his arm, which I assume he defended with. It's a minor injury, but it's hope itself.

 "This sword is amazing, Sieg."

 I reply

"It's flexible and heavy. It's an incredible sword. It might even be called a gravity magic sword. If combined with gravity magic, Durandal's power will probably be close to infinite."

Oh, Gold. You said it's ten times stronger than the iron lump sword.

It's not ten times. It's a hundred times, a thousand times stronger.

 I call Sieg's name.

"I will defeat you with this. Durandal can do it."

 "...Hmph."

Sieg quietly laughs. While dripping blood, his sparkling eyes are filled with a fierce glow.

"You'll let me draw it out. You'll make me rise. Wade, you're the best enemy I've met in the past few years. I thought so when I saw your growth in our first match. You can reach me."

 Sieg points at me.

"No, you reached me. You've reached me now, in this moment. You've become my equal. So I'll get serious, Wade. I want to clash with you for real."

I scatter the crystal sword around and raise it. I prepare Durandal.

Sieg just slightly spreads his hands, overflowing with power like a wild beast.

 I say.

 "Let's go, monster."

 Sieg replies.

 "Come, monster."

 I raise Durandal.

Charge in, flash forward, and render distance meaningless in front of the expanding Durandal. I strike Sieg's torso with all my might.

But Sieg arches back to dodge it. I whistle, and Sieg regains his posture.

 "Now, it's my turn."

 Sieg's feet explode.

Sieg's explosive physical strength made distance meaningless. He comes straight at me, fists flying.

Sieg fights like this. He doesn't rely on any strong weapons or special magic, but instead uses his own raw strength to win.

This is the essence of his power ―― the ultimate form of fundamental strength.

If he's faster than anyone else, his attacks will hit and he can dodge his opponent's attacks as well.

If he's got a tougher body than his opponent, their attacks won't land.

And if he's got a stronger punch, he can take down any opponent with one hit.

But I'm the only one who can match him.

"I'm not gonna lose!! Take thissss!"

I swing my Durantal. It clashes with Sieg's punch. The sword with unlimited power and the punch with unlimited power.

 The result is a tie.

Durantal breaks. Sieg's punch sends blood flying out of his mouth.

"What the heck?! This sword is brand new!"

"My body is brand new too!"

 "What are you talking about?!"

I panic at the broken Durantal, but then I regain my composure and focus my thoughts. Durantal instantly transforms and renews its shape.

Oh, this sword has no meaning as a sword. Blacksmith Gold said so.

 And Sieg speaks up.

"But that's unfair. I'm getting hurt and Wade's sword is getting fixed."

"What are you talking about? You're using magic, of course."

 "That's true."

 Sieg readies himself and says.

"Then, I think I can just use brute force to solve the problem."

"...You're really a scary opponent, Sieg."

 I also ready myself.

First, I'll take the initiative, then Sieg will close in, and next we'll stare each other down.

A stalemate. We both know our limits.

I focus my mental energy, magic, and concentration.

 Sieg focuses his physical body.

If neither of us has anything, we're both unlimited. So, we need to think about how to reduce our opponent's strength.

 "Phew..."

I take a long breath. What do I do? How can I gain the upper hand? I think about winning.

But it's pointless, so I gave up.

 "Sieg."

 I take a step forward.

"It's too late now to ask how to win. The one who has fun wins. That's all."

With a flash, I swing my Durandal to strike Sieg. Sieg breaks it with his fist. The Durandal shatters, and Sieg's blood and fragments scatter.

"What's going on? Were you thinking of doing something like that?"

Sieg approaches. I react. Sieg's movements are familiar, like a sparring match after being captured. I can react accordingly.

He threw a punch. I swing my Durandal. I deflect Sieg's punch, and the Durandal gets a crack. But I fix it.

"I was worried that you might be feeling unwell since you suddenly stopped, so I was concerned."

"Your natural talent is really extreme, isn't it!"

Sieg tries to kick me away. I dodge with one foot, but my other foot gets caught.

I fall. Sieg takes the opportunity to mount me. But I won't lose, come at me.

Sieg starts punching me with a flurry of blows.

The sheer number of punches makes it hard to see. But I use my second eye, Ajna Chakra, to swing my Durandal without hesitation.

The sword and fist clash repeatedly. Iron fragments and Sieg's flesh scatter. I won't let him land a solid hit. From there, I start to lose my rhythm.

 "AAAAAAAA!"

I shout and swing my sword. Each time, I switch between Weight Reduce and Weight Increase to avoid the weight of the swing and the impact. Sieg just needs to swing his fist, but I need to keep switching between magic modes while swinging my sword.

I swing my sword repeatedly. Then, I notice. White things are starting to appear and disappear from Sieg's fist. His expression showed a hint of pain being suppressed.

Ah, Sieg. You're also giving it your all.

 Then, what's there to lose?

Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase. Fist, Weight Reduce, Sword, Impact, Weight Increase.

My head is getting confused. The correct order causes Gestalt breakdown. What do you do when the fist comes? Swing the sword? No. Reduce the weight. Reduce the weight and then swing the sword. Then increase the weight, no.

 "You're late, Wade."

Sieg's fist crushes my skull. I revive at the Anahata chakra, the second heart. Even when I'm dead, I can swing the sword. Trembling. Shake?

Weight Increase is on the verge of impact.

I won't make a mistake. Even if I make a mistake, I'll recover right away. Sieg is laughing ferociously, grinding his teeth slightly. The flesh of his fist is being shaved off, and his bones are being exposed.

I've decided to give him death once.

He miss his aim with his fist. Sieg doesn't react. He must have been too focused on enduring the pain. After my crushed head, Sieg jumped back late.

I quickly stand up. I unleashed a slash to Sieg's body, creating a path of wounds. But it's shallow. Still, if blood flows, he can be defeated if repeated.

 "...Well done, Wade."

"First, it's all about landing a single blow."

I had to cut through Sieg's fist because it felt like he would keep punching me with his bones exposed.

Sieg's fist is already in tatters, dripping with blood and some bones exposed. On the other hand, I've used quite a bit of magical power. I recover using Sahasrara Chakra, my second brain, but I can't let my guard down.

"Have you recovered your magic power now?"

 "You figured it out, huh?"

"I see. There was a strange presence around your head. So that's what it was. It seems I was right to hit you in the head."

If Sieg continues to destroy my brain for a long time, he knows that it will disrupt the amplification of Sahasrara Chakra's spiritual energy.

Sieg not having any long-range attacks is the only way he can defeat me. But the problem is that Sieg can easily reach that point on his own.

I exhale and regain my composure.

Once again, I think. This battle is not going to be easy. While I have to steadily conquer Sieg, all it takes is for him to continuously destroy my brain for a few tens of seconds to win.

But on the other hand, I have an advantage too. I have abundant means of recovery, while Sieg doesn't have any means of recovery.

As long as I can fight in top condition, I should gradually gain the upper hand.

"Heh, hehe, this is fun, Wade. It's been a while since I enjoyed a battle this much."

Sieg, dripping with blood, raises his fighting spirit throughout his body. His expression is defiant. Even while injured, his intensity only increases.

Seeing him like that, I also get excited and end up laughing.

"Yeah, it's damn exciting. You're the best enemy, Sieg."

I ready my Durandal. Sieg readies his battered fist.

 If I had a wish.

I would pray for this battle to last long, so we can enjoy it.
