Volume 4 Chapter 24 Siddhi (ṛDdhi)
Sandra headed to the shower to wash off the sweat. After quickly wiping off the dirty parts with a cloth, she went out to the garden and found Mudi standing there.
"Hey, it looks like Sandra's 'Samyama' is complete."
"...Were you watching?"
"Huh? I wouldn't bother with that. Yogis naturally understand these things. Whether the constructed chakra is there or not, you know."
"True."
It seems Mudi was just confirming that Sandra had completed her 'Samyama' in the garden. "But," Mudi said,
"You've constructed a pretty unique form of chakra. Did you practice tantric techniques? You seem quite energetic for that."
"What's tantric techniques? I feel like I've heard of it before."
"It's when you absorb your partner's energy and convert it into chakra. But having a chakra like a baby's is quite rare... Normally, tantric techniques form the shape of a womb."
"...Well, I don't think it's tantric techniques."
We haven't done that. I won't say what we did, though.
"Well, if 'Samyama' is complete, it's time for activation training. Let's get back to it."
Seemingly not very interested, Mudi urged me on by kicking my butt. "You don't have to kick me," I said, getting ready.
"'Brahma'"
I focused on my heart. I could feel the heartbeat and movement of my heart as if it were in my hands. In sync, the second heart started beating. The Anahata Chakra was activated.
Release. Mudi questioned with surprise,
"...5 seconds. Weren't you taking 5 minutes until this morning?"
"I wonder why. Maybe I was inspired by Sandra."
"I never thought we'd be rivals, but there seems to be a synergistic effect here. Wade, cut it under 1 second three times in a row. At this pace, you'll get it soon. Once you do, it's Siddhi training."
"Got it."
Finally, Siddhi, I thought. It felt both long and short. Magic in yoga. Supernatural abilities. I suppressed my excitement, got ready, and muttered,
"'Brahma'."
Activation. "0.5 seconds," Mudi said. Release.
"'Brahma'."
Activation. "0.4 seconds," Mudi said. Release.
"'Brahma'."
Activation. "0.2 seconds," Mudi said. Release.
"One success. Seems like I'm getting used to it."
"I see. Let's start Siddhi training then."
Following instructions, I stood where Mudi indicated, about 10 meters away. I wished Mudi would praise me a bit more. Am I not that impressive?
"Now, before we start the training, let me explain what Siddhi is specifically."
"Okay."
I nodded.
"It's a supernatural phenomenon that is constantly active when the chakras are activated. If you activate the throat chakra, you can talk to animals, and if you activate the brain chakra, you can understand the universe."
"I don't get what understanding the universe means..."
"So, Wade, who activated the heart chakra, Anahata Chakra, can exert control over his internal organs and his body derived from them."
"What do you mean by control over my body? Like what you did when you neutralized attacks on yourself when I was helped?"
"That's a different kind of mastery over everything."
Mastery over everything, huh.
Shaking my head, I wondered what it could be. Is it transforming a body, perhaps? Oh, but maybe I could protect the magic seal on my right hand and resist Eiosnight's magic destruction with that.
As I pondered, I was told to activate for now.
"'Brahma'."
Voices overlapped. Why is Mudi activating too? I looked at him with a puzzled expression.
Mudi said,
"Alright, let's go straight into combat mode. This is where your determination will show."
Immediately after that, my right arm was completely gone.
"...Huh?"
"Of course, your reflexes aren't that sharp yet. That's Swadisthana Chakra, Sandra's territory."
Mudi said, holding my arm. What happened? I couldn't react. I couldn't even perceive it.
With a delay, blood overflowed from the cross-section of my arm. A burning pain surged simultaneously. I couldn't even scream, and I collapsed on the spot.
"Wha...! Wha...!!?"
"Hey, what are you slacking off for? Your focus is slipping!"
Mudi stood before me. His raised foot pierced through my heart. My lungs collapsed, and I gasped for air.
"Focus! Concentrate! If it's too much, use 'Brahma'! Shout!"
"'Brahma'!"
Forcing the scattered focus back to my heart, the Anahata Chakra pulsated. What does it mean that it pulsated?
Blood gushed out like a waterfall, spreading a pool of blood in the yard. The thumping heartbeat continued to overflow my body with blood. I'm going to die. At this rate, I will die.
"Oraa!"
Mudi dealt another blow to me. His fist pierced through my torso, pulling out my organs, making a hole. A hole opened in my body, and my organs were ripped out completely.
"Ah, ...ah..."
"Focus! How many times do I have to tell you, you trash! Concentrate, concentrate, concentrate! Keep the Chakra activation going!"
"Ah, ah, ahhhh!"
"Don't panic, you trash! If it's too much, shout! What do you say, huh?"
"'Brahma'!"
I'm going to die. But even facing death, the routine did not allow despair to take over me. The focus was on my heart. The Anahata Chakra continued to pulse.
"Let's go again!"
Mudi threw me up, levitated me, and delivered a powerful kick. I flew while my whole body crumpled.
Bang! The tremendous impact tore my limbs apart. My torso split in two from the hole Mudi had opened, leaving only my chest and head. My body was no more.
"Ah... ah..."
But Mudi approached me. In fear, I instinctively shouted.
"B-Bra... Brahma! Brahma! Brahma!"
"...That's right. That's good. Shout as many times as you need if your focus is about to break. That routine is there for that purpose."
Mudi looked down at me. I looked up at Mudi, trembling with fear. It was terrifying. I thought I was going to be killed. I didn't want to die. And every time my focus was about to break, I shouted 'Brahma.'
Each shout forcibly brought my consciousness back to my heart. Each time, my consciousness scattered again. I thought I was going to die. I was on the verge of madness from fear. I shouted. Mudi didn't miss a beat, always looking down at me.
Meanwhile, minutes passed. I could hear everyone's screams in the distance. Ice, Sandra, Alex. I could tell they were calling my name, searching for me.
And then, I suddenly realized.
"...Hey, Mudi."
"What is it, Wade?"
Mudi answered me as if it were the most normal thing.
"...Why am I not dead? My body was split in two, blood was flowing..."
"..."
Mudi smiled and slowly squatted down. He tapped my chest, pointing to my heart.
"Isn't it obvious? ―――It's because the Anahata Chakra is activated. As long as this heart beats, you won't die, Wade."
"..."
I just trembled. Was it fear, or was it awe, or perhaps... joy?
"Next is regeneration. Imagine yourself whole. Focus on returning. Every organ, limb, and drop of blood that was spilled is under the control of the Anahata Chakra."
"...Understood."
I closed my eyes. I forgot my lost body. And I focused on returning. I had a lower body below my waist. I had organs in my abdomen. I had my right arm, my right arm with a magic seal, intact.
I opened my eyes. Without shedding a drop of blood, I lay there whole.
I got up. I looked at Mudi. Mudi smiled and applauded.
"You passed. It took one day to build, two and a half days to activate, and 15 minutes for Siddhi (ṛddhi). ...To think you didn't even use up the weekdays within a week."
"Wade!"
Suddenly, Sandra barged in. She hugged me tightly and glared at Mudi.
"...Mudi, what happened? There were scattered blood and flesh that seemed to belong to Wade. Just when I thought that, you suddenly disappeared... What's going on?"
"We were conducting the final test for the Anahata Chakra license transmission. Oh, Sandra, don't worry, your test will be a bit easier."
Chuckling, Mudi reassured Sandra, causing her to flinch, and I let out a deep breath.
After that, I called out to Mudi.
"Mudi."
"What is it?"
"Let me punch you once."
"Do as you please."
I punched Mudi. It felt strangely as if there was no impact from the beginning. Mudi chuckled and said, "If you want to give me a hard time, you'll have to master other chakras too."
