Volume 5 Chapter 7 I Said It Twice, But...
Kyunei and Aina seemed really sorry about what they did. Near the end, they both had tears in their eyes. Maybe that's because Mikage was so intense, and their knees hurt from sitting in seiza, a traditional way of sitting on the floor. When I saw them like that, I started to feel a little better.
I was still embarrassed about being spied on, but Kyunei was the one who pushed me to go for it in the first place. We're all friends, and Mikage wasn't mad for long. By the next morning, she was fine.
After that, we all went out together to explore the city.
Mikage and I talked and decided to plan our date for another day.
"I'd love to spend time alone with Yukina-sama, but I also really enjoy being with the three of us together. It’s important to me."
Mikage said with a smile.
'The amazing thing about you are that they all get along so well, partner. Usually, there's some tension or friction in a group like this, but not with them.'
That's also one of their charms.
Now that it's settled, let's enjoy a date with them to the fullest today. There are still many places we haven't seen in Eubarest. The vacation has just begun. The fun is yet to come.
"Oh, leader! Those are the ones we talked to yesterday!"

With a disappointed sigh at Gram's words, I turned around with Kyunei and the others.
As expected, there were two guys that Kyunei and Aina had talked to yesterday, and I had excitedly approached them.
For some reason, two men pointing towards me had bruises all over their faces.
If my memory is not terribly wrong, I didn't hit their faces when I threw them back. Besides, they were already unconscious from the throw, so there was no need for any further blows.
As I tilted my head, a man appeared from behind the two with several other men.
He had a strikingly handsome face at first glance, but he had a wild aura that made him seem far from gentle.
He was wearing light armor, likely made from monster materials. He carried a sword at his waist, and had long, bright orange hair. But what stood out the most was the eyepatch over his left eye. The open right eye seemed to exude a fierce, beast-like intensity.
He was probably the person that those two men referred to as the "leader". Perhaps he had come to thank me for yesterday's visit.
'More like they just happened to see you by chance.'
Trouble came knocking right away. Just when I thought I had learned my lesson yesterday, it seemed it was already too late. I sighed and put my hand on my face.
But things didn't go the way I expected.
The guy with the eyepatch looked grumpy as he glanced at us.
"These idiots!"
""Ahh!!""
The first thing he did was punch the two guys who called himself leaders.
"Umm..."
I was left behind by the sudden turn of events. Kyunei and Aina were speechless too.
"..."
Only Mikage remained calm, but she had a sharp gaze fixed on the guy with the eyepatch. Before I could say anything, the guy with the eyepatch shouted angrily.
"Don't cause trouble for the decent people like I told you yesterday! And you should pay for your own mistakes! Why do I have to clean up after your boring attempts at flirting? If you keep talking trash, I'll knock you out!"
"Well, you're already hitting me."
With a crisp retort, I couldn't help but make a tsukkomi.
'I must say, his quick wit matches yours, partner.'
Ignoring the lingering tsukkomi in my head, I looked at the situation.
After scoffing at the two men groaning on the ground, the man with the eyepatch scratched his head and then turned back to face me.
"Sorry about that. Seems like my buddies caused some trouble. I'll make sure to straighten them out, so please forgive us."
"Oh, yeah, sure. No problem."
The guys who was hitting on Kyunei and the others must have been in big trouble. From what the eyepatch guy said, those guys were probably in trouble because of him. It's like they're getting what they deserve.
Then, the eyepatch guy looked at Mikage and raised an eyebrow, saying,
"Hmm? Is that 'Silver Flash' over there?"
Mikage, being called by her mercenary nickname, sighed resignedly and reluctantly responded to the eyepatch guy's words.
"Long time no see. I never wanted to see you again if I could help it."
"Oh, so it was really Silver Flash! I didn't recognize you at all because you're so different from last time! You're still sharp as ever, haha!"
The eyepatch guy laughed loudly.
"Huh, what's up? Do you know Mikage?"
"We're just acquaintances. We've only worked together once before."
Mikage gave the eyepatch guy a cold stare.
"Hey, don't talk like that, Silver Flash. Aren't we friends?"
"I made a mistake by getting involved with someone like you, it's a big failure in my life."
It's been a while since I saw Mikage openly showing hostility or contempt. It reminds me of when we first met.
"Um... Mikage-san. I feel a bit left out, could you please tell me who that person is?"
When Aina asked, Mikage hesitated, then sighed softly and spoke.
"This person is 'Reed.' I hate to admit it, but he is a 2nd rank mercenary."
"2nd rank, like you, Mikage-san?"
"Really, I'm extremely reluctant, but he is skilled. Extremely reluctant."
She said 'reluctantly' twice. Mikage, how much do you dislike that guy?
