Chapter 50 Returning Home To Overflowing Affection
After completing the dungeon conquest, I decided to stop by my hometown, Dead End Village, before returning to the capital city.
Beyond Abyss Wood lies a grassland.
The endless countryside scenery fills me with nostalgia.
As I take a deep breath, the pure, fresh air tickles my nostrils.

"Is this my Lord's hometown?"
Tai-chan, the Behemoth, stands beside me and asks.
"Yeah. Well, I don't know my true birthplace, but this is where I feel I belong."
I don't know my real parents.
I was abandoned, and Asclepius, my master, found and took care of me.
"Don't you want to meet your real parents?"

I replied immediately. It was a heartfelt response, so I didn't even need to think about it.
"I love this village because I love the elder people who raised me here. Real parents don't really matter to me anymore."

My buddy Mercury-san said with a sigh.
"Let's go show our faces quickly. The old men and grannies will surely be happy."
Mercury-san is the granddaughter of the village witch, Granny Merlin.
Even though she wasn't born here, she grew up in Dead End Village for a while.
As we approached the village, Tai-chan's tail suddenly puffed up like a broom.
"What's wrong, Tai-chan?"
"I, I, something..."
With a thud, Tai-chan collapses on the spot.
"What!? What's happening!?"
"Ah... going... dizzy..."
Mercury rushes over to Tai-chan in a panic, using her Appraisal Eye to assess his condition.
"It's a spell that induces panic in monsters. It's a very advanced curse."
"Oh no! Is someone attacking?"
"Maybe it's people from the village? They're probably defending themselves since Leaf-kun's charm protection is gone, right?"

Even though I was surrounded by everyone in a mess, I was happy because everyone was healthy!
Granny Merlin told me not to worry, but I always had everyone's faces in my mind.
I was worried about not being able to manage my health once the medicine ran out.

"Granny Merlin!"
I hugged Granny Merlin, who had taken care of me.
She patted my head and said,
"The medicine is fine because I have connections."

Everyone nodded with smiles. Just seeing their happy faces made me feel better.
Meanwhile, Tai-chan looked scared as she... or rather, as she looked at the elderly people.

I rush to her side and give her some medicine.
