Volume 4 Chapter 12 The Villainous Guildmaster, Tempting a Youngster from the Countryside IV
The new member joined the Act Guild [Gem of Heavenly Gift].
His name is Yaboy.
He is a boy who left the countryside dreaming of rising up.
Yaboy is now considered a disciple of Act.
"Let's go. First, to the Town Mayor."
"Yes-ssu!"
Act and the others leave the guild and walk along the main street.
Since it's daytime on a weekday, many people come and go.
"Mr. Act! Hello there!"
When the street vendor sees Act, he bows deeply.
"Ah, how's it going?"
"Super good! Oh, and here, try this! It's a new product!"
The vendor was selling fried bread soaked in oil.
Inside a wrapping paper of oil, lots of bread pieces are packed.
"How much?"
"You can't get any money from Mr. Act!"
"I see. I'll happily accept it then."
Seeing this exchange, Yaboy feels VERY impressed.
(Wow! Mr. Act is getting such delicious food for FREE from the merchant! As expected of a big villain, everyone knows you get into trouble if you cross him!)
"Hey, Yaboy. You take it."
"U-ssu! Very helpful-ssu!"
He hasn't done anything yet, but he's already impressed himself.
That's only natural, since Yaboy thinks Act is a SUPER evil villain.
Certainly, Act is known as the Villainous Guildmaster in the town.
But...
"Mr. Act! Hello there!"
"Nice weather today, huh?"
"Please come visit us at our place!"
Everyone passing by greets Act with a smile.
Even Yaboy starts to feel something's odd.
(W-what's going on...? Mr. Act is a big villain. Why is everyone talking to him so CASUALLY...?)
Even though they're being threatened, everyone smiles and acts friendly.
Still, all of them respect Act.
"I see... Is that how it is, Mr. Act?"
Yaboy's hands are full of food and stuff given by the people who called out to him.
"What's up, so sudden?"
"No! You don't need to say anything else! I believe a man speaks with his back, not words!"
Yaboy turns his SPARKLING eyes to Act.
"I totally got it, what you mean, Mr. Act...!"
Yaboy nods to himself, looking impressed.
(The real big bad guy gets LIKED by normal people. If regular folks don't like you, it's hard to do bad things. I see... this is a good lesson!)
"Hehehe... I feel like I'm one step closer to my dream, Mr. Act!"
Yaboy makes a HUGE misunderstanding.
Act says one word without correcting him.
"I see."
He moves on ahead.
"Khuuuuuuu! So COOLLLL! I love it! So cool and stylish, I'm SO inspired!"
"Shut up!"
Yaboy, who just said men speak with their backs, wasn't doing that himself.
After a moment.
They arrive at the Town Mayor's place.
It's an elegant old lady with long hair and round glasses.
In the Town Mayor's mansion, in the reception room.
"Act-Act, it's been a while!"
"It's been too long, Madame. Yaboy, this is Madame Grigio."
Yaboy bends politely at the old lady sitting on the sofa.
"U-ssu! Yaboy-ssu! I'm Mr. Act's underling now! Nice to meet you!"
"Oh my, what a lively boy! Sit down, please."
"Yes-ssu, Madame!"
Yaboy sits down next to Act.
"Since Act-Act has noticed him, this boy must have something shining about him."
"Whoa! Is that true-ssu!? Do I have it-ssu!? A shining evil talent!"
"Yeah."
"YESSSSSSS!"
"Shut up."
Yaboy was on cloud 9 after being recognized by the big bad guy (Act) for having evil talent.
But what Act really meant was just to say that Yaboy had talent.
Sadly, it was clear from Act's point of view that Yaboy had NO talent for evil at all.
"I wonder what talent this kid has?"
"Calculations."
"Calculations?"
"Yeah. He's good at looking at data and coming up with answers. Want me to show you? Hey, Yaboy."
"Whoaaa! The GREAT villain Yaboy is bornnnn!"
"Hey."
"Yes! What's up!"
Act points to the window.
"What do you think the weather will be in the afternoon?"
"Eh, W-what-ssu? Suddenly?"
"Just answer, okay?"
Yaboy tilts his head curiously, then looks outside.
And he says.
"Heavy rain-ssu, huh?"
"Oh... really?"
"Yes-ssu. That's why I think you should bring in the laundry, don't you-ssu?"
The madam tilts her head.
The weather outside looks clear.
No way it's going to rain.
"If it's really going to rain... I'd better bring things in."
"Oh! Then I'll go do it!"
Whoosh...!
Yaboy steps out of the room on her own.
The madam wasn't sure yet... she half doubted if it would really rain.
But...
drip...
"Huh?"
drip drip... RUUUUSH!
Soon after, heavy rain started falling.
"Wow, it's really happening... just like she said..."
"He might not seem smart when he talks or looks, but he can read the situation and find answers. He looked at the sky data and predicted it would rain SOON."
Even though he looks and acts like a fool, he's actually quite clever.
"I see... As expected from Act-Act. You can see the true talent in someone."
"I brought them in! Praise me!"
Act takes a sip of tea, then stands up.
"Sorry for taking so long. I'll be going now."
"Oh, stay a little longer. The rain's heavy outside. You could wait until it stops..."
"No need."
Smoothly, Act takes out a foldable umbrella from her pocket.
The madam opens her eyes wide at this.
Likewise, Act had also figured out the weather conditions for today.
"I'm REALLY looking forward to the future, Yaboy-boy."
Hehe, the Town Mayor smiles.
"I also think that kid will shine brightly if polished."
"Of course. I chose them."
"You're right. Yes, as expected of Act-Act. No one can match your eye for talent."
Act bows and leaves the place.
"Well then, goodbye, Madame!"
Yaboy waves goodbye with a sunny smile.
Honest personality and sharp mind.
"Yaboy-boy seems like they will become AMAZING someday."
The Madame remembers.
The day Act first came here.
At that time, she instantly saw that Act was special.
She felt the same vibe from Yaboy.
"I'm excited for the future~"
