Volume 3 Chapter 19 The Guildmaster and the Useless Dog Maid's Little Trip II
I'm Frederica, and I've been invited to spend my holiday with him.
The carriage we boarded left the hometown and headed east.
"Hehe♡ Hehehehe♡ I get to have Master all to myself♡ Hehehehehe♡"
Frederica and I are sitting on the carriage's luggage rack.
But for some reason, this woman comes and sits right next to me.
"There's an empty seat in the front."
"It's fine. Being next to Master is My position."
Squeeze, Frederica grabs my arm and snuggles up to me.
Normally, I'd push her away because it's too hot, but today, I guess I'll let her be.
"Master, you won't push me away even if it's hot?"

Today is a treat for this dog.

Frederica looks at me with a hopeful gaze.

Frederica lays her head on my lap.
The seat is narrow, so the tall Frederica seems a bit cramped.

Yet, this woman looks blissfully content with her eyes half-closed.
She's a strange one.
Her dog ears pop up excitedly.
"Master, Master."
"What?"
"There's candy in the bag."
"Is that so?"
"Awww♡ Please feed me."

(How predictable.)
I take out a chocolate from the bag and bring it to Frederica's mouth.
"Awww♡ Munch munch... Gulp♡ It's so delicious~♡"
Her dog tail wags energetically, incredibly annoying.
"Just one more bite♡"
"Here you go."
"Hehehe♡ One more!"
"There."
Frederica's cheeks move as she chews, her face lit up with a broad smile.
"What do you think we look like from the side♡"
"A dog and her master."
"People might think we're lovers♡ Oh my, what should we do~♡"
"Listen up."
(Good grief, that mutt is getting way too confident.)
"By the way, Frederica, where is this carriage headed?"
"We're going to a tourist spot called [Evashima] in the Beastman Kingdom to the east."
"Evashima, the famous water city."
Another name for it is the water town.
It's literally built on a huge lake.
It's safe and beautiful, so it's well-known as a tourist spot.
"Master, do you prefer the mountains?"
Frederica says nervously.
"Doesn't matter. Go wherever you want."
"M-Master! Say it one more time! Please say I can go wherever I want!"
"I just said that."
"It's the same meaning, but different words! Make it sound more like lovers! Come on, faster!"

"You can go wherever you want."

I humored the excited Frederica and repeated the same line many times.
I always thought she was odd... and she really is.

After half a day, the carriage arrived at Evashima.
"Look, Master."
"Ah, the town looks nice and neat."
Red brick roads and buildings.
The neatly lined architecture is truly stunning.
The blue lake and red buildings contrast beautifully.
"No, no. You don't need to look at the town."
"Then what should I look at?"
"Of course... today's outfit I'm wearing!"
Frederica isn't in her usual maid outfit, but in casual clothes.
She wears a black frilly dress with a big open back.
And a thin cardigan over it.
"How do I look?"
"Ah."
"Does it suit me?"
"Yeah."
It really suits her silver-blue hair and pale skin.
"Please say I look good."
Frederica leaned in close and said.
Her cheeks puff out as she speaks.
"I told you, didn't I?"
"Hey! Please say it out loud. Alright, repeat after me. Frederica, it suits you."
"...It suits you."
"Hehe♡ Thank you very much♡ I chose it just for Master♡"
Twirling, Frederica turns on the spot.
Her dog ears and tail are hidden, but her skirt flares out.
Her bottom is almost visible, but it's better not to mention it.
"Alright. Let's go."
I try to enter the town of Evashima.
Frederica suddenly grabs my left arm and holds me back.
"What is it?"
"Master♡ Let's hold hands."
She says it in a sweet, pleading tone.
She really takes advantage of my leniency, doing whatever she wants.
"Let's hurry up."
I take Frederica's left hand and start walking.
"Wait for me, Master♡"
Frederica follows me closely.
She presses her shoulder tightly against mine as we walk.
It's hard to walk like this, but I'd usually tell her to back off.
However, if that's what she wants, I'll let it slide.
"Master is even more gentle than usual today♡"
"Just occasionally."
"Please spoil me to your heart's content every day...♡"
"Don't get carried away."
"Look, even dogs need some praise now and then, right?"
(Don't get involved in any trouble today.)

Anyway.
The town of Evashima is bustling with people.
Here and there, stalls cater to tourists.
"Master, they're selling something called gelato."
"Hmph."
We approach one of the stalls.
Inside a container of ice, there's cream.
Apparently, this cold cream on a cone is what they call gelato.
"I'll get 2."
I buy one and hand it to Frederica.
"Here."
"Master... How did you know I was longing for this?"
(I don't mention the dog tail wagging eagerly, looking greedy.)
"Well then."
"Hehehe♡ Master is super gentle today♡"
We sit on a nearby bench and eat the gelato.
I'm vanilla, and Frederica's mint gelato.
"It's cold, sweet, and so tasty."
Frederica licks her gelato with a happy smile.
"Master... I want a bite of your vanilla..."
She looks up at me with watery eyes.
"I'll go buy another one."
"Nooo. I want a bite of yours~."
"But I already ate from it."
"That's exactly why it's good!"
(I really don't get her sometimes.)
"Here."
"Ehehe ♡ Then, excuse me."
Frederica closes her eyes and gently licks my gelato with her tiny tongue.
Lick... lick...
"It was delicious."
"I see."
"Then Master, please have my mint flavor in return."
"...You already licked it."
"That's the best part ♡"
I sigh and take a bite of Frederica's half-eaten gelato.
"Well? How does it taste?"
Frederica's voice bounces with excitement.
"Mint flavor."
"Not that! I mean the taste of an indirect kiss!?"
"No clue. Mint is mint."
"Muu... Master, you don't understand feelings. You're hopeless. Fufufu ♡"
Flap flap, Frederica's ears and tail twitch.
They always pop out when she's emotional, but today they're moving a lot.
"Master. One more bite of your vanilla."
"Then give me your mint in exchange."
"As you wish. Please enjoy the gelato covered in my saliva (DNA) as much as you like ♡"
"STOP SAYING IT LIKE THAT, YOU FREAK."
