"Getting lost in the FOREST, of all things! I guess I really can't do anything without Mr. Act!"
'Come on, getting lost and then WIPING out the forest is just plain weird, Mr. Lawrence...'
Iliga felt a sense of discomfort at the Evil Dragon's words.
"Hey, WAIT... Don't tell me you... with the HERO..."
'Yup, I SWITCHED sides to the Hero.'
"Have you NO pride as a demon?!"
'Nah, hey EVERYONE!'
With a wave, Vivre called out, "Yo!"
From above, several men and women appeared.
Soaring through the sky was a HANDSOME young man with silver hair, wielding a spear.
The rest of the ladies seemed to have flown over using some sort of magical flight magic.
"Mr. Lawrence, that's AMAZING! Wiping out the Nether Forest like that! As expected of YOU!"
"You're FORBIDDEN from going off somewhere alone anymore... Every time you do, everything gets DESTROYED... You're such a monster."
"Indeed. Oh, I'll restore the forest with [Heal]."
"But sister, you're quite the monster yourself..."
Iliga went pale and slumped to the ground.
"What... WHAT is this... You PEOPLE..."
Hero Lawrence, who had SHATTERED the Northern Wall.
Luna, the healer who RESTORED the vanished Nether Forest.
The Hero Party that DECIMATED the Northern Wall army...
"To think they'd be SO strong... The reports from before didn't say anything about this..."
Iliga, surrounded by the Hero Party, TREMBLED like a puppy.
"It's all thanks to our benefactor who raised us!"
"Benefactor...?"
It seems the Great Hero has a mentor.
To put it bluntly, there exists a monster that can counter this inhumane demonic army.
"Ah, hya... ahyahyahyahyahyaahhhhh!"
'Hey, did he break down?'
"I GET how he feels. I'd probably end up like this too if I was told to go up against these guys."
With a sigh, Ulgar thought, "This is a mess."
"We're in DEEP trouble now!"
"Everyone, BE CAREFUL! He's unleashing ALL his magic power! He's going to SELF-DESTRUCT!"
The magician Eli was already prepared to counter their opponent's attack.
"CAST a defensive magic!"
"There's NO need for that! Everyone, BEHIND ME!"
Vivre transformed back into a human form and, along with Ulgar, circled around Lawrence's back.
"Demon Kinggg! LOOK! To protect you, I, a loyal vassal, sacrifice my LIFE...!"
"It's likely a POWERFUL ice magic that will cause the surrounding area to become PERMAFROST by overflowing with magic. An ice that won't MELT until it consumes a life."
"You can tell THAT much!? Eli, you're amazing! Wait, if I get hit by that, I'll die! Oh, jeez!"
But, everyone except Ulgar remained calm.
"Why are you all so calm!? You'll be FROZEN solid forever if you get hit by that!"
"Don't WORRY! It's fine!" "Yeah, NO problem!" "Mr. Lawrence has GOT THIS!"
Their composure stemmed from the Great Hero standing before them.
"Ugh... You're RIGHT. It's frustrating, but... I'll leave it to YOU, Leader."
"Mr. Ulgar seems to acknowledge Hero-sama's strength, after all."
At Vivre's words, Ulgar let out a sigh and said,
"Honestly, even the GUILDMASTER, who can see the future, has given his APPROVAL. Our VICTORY is a foregone conclusion. Come on, Lawrence. Finish this quickly."
"Understood! GOT IT!"
The self-destructing spell reached completion and activated.
A monstrous COLD WAVE spread outwards in a burst of wind.
"I'll PROTECT everyone, Mr. Act! That's my DUTY!"
From Lawrence's body, a blinding LIGHT erupted.
It resembled a golden sun... An overwhelmingly POWERFUL holy magic.
"Ugh!"
In an instant, Lawrence DOVE into Iliga's grasp.
Focusing his magic into his greatsword, he swung from a LOW stance in a diagonal upward arc.
"[SUNLIGHT SAINT STRIKE]!"
In that instant, a BLINDING LIGHT erupted around them.
It was a light so GENTLE yet POWERFUL, it felt like the sunrise.
But in reality, it was a FIERCE slash that concentrated the energy of the sun.
The SACRED LIGHT blows Iliga far ABOVE him.
The GOLDEN PILLAR extends into the sky.
It was a BRILLIANT LIGHT, so intense it split the night's DARKNESS, temporarily bringing morning to our midst.
"Hey, wasn't it just the DEAD of night a minute ago? It's turned into morning... We're pretty resilient, aren't we?"
"Mr. Lawrence's LIGHT... It's gentle and comforting. I suppose it must be harmless to the HUMAN body."
"I see... It's DEADLY POISON to demons, then."
We would later learn that the DEMON clinging to the north wall had been completely obliterated by this sacred light.
Clang... Lawrence sheathed his sword.
"That TAKES CARE of that, doesn't it?"
Upon witnessing the scene, Vivre spoke through chattering teeth.
"Geez... SERIOUSLY geez... I'm GLAD you're on OUR side, man..."
Likely thanks to Lawrence's CONTROL, Vivre had been fine even after being bathed in the LIGHT that killed the demon.
"Really, I'm SO GLAD he's NOT an enemy..."
Ulgar murmured in agreement.
