"Of course, who exactly do you think I am?"
She says with a confident smile.
"I'm a healer in the Hero Party, raised by the world's greatest Guildmaster. Such a curse is nothing but a Heal to me!"
In an instant,
The Grim Reaper vanishes, and the chains that bound her disappear in a poof.
"Ugh, ah, uooOOOOOOOOO!"
Vivre's form starts to transform before their very eyes.
Her body grows larger and larger, an extraordinary level of magic power overflowing from her.
From her back, pitch-black aura wings sprout, and her eyes turn blood-red.
"A curse to seal an evil god... I see. It seems Vivre's true form is something like a Demon Dragon."
'UooOOOOOOO! I can feel the power surging through me!'
Squirming her colossal body, the Demon Dragon Vivre opens her mouth wide.
Fwoooom...!
The magic converges in her mouth.
"Wait, what are you doing!?"
'HAAAAAA!'
What emerged from Vivre's mouth was a beam of scorching heat.
It easily pierces through the ceiling, extending in a straight line.
And terrifyingly...
"I... can't believe it... the MOON... is missing..."
The shot fired by the Demon Dragon had grazed the moon floating in the sky.
'Mr. Acttt!'
Vivre hangs her head in front of Act.
'Thank you! If it weren't for you, Mr. Act, I wouldn't have realized I had such incredible power. I'm so grateful!'
"Yeah. I'm glad."
'Yes! Gugh... ugh... uwaaaaaaaahn!'
A tremendous amount of tears pour from the Demon Dragon's eyes.
'For doing so much for me... I... really, I'm so glad I met you, Mr. Act...'
"Don't get the wrong idea. Everything I do is for myself."
This gentle young man—Vivre had developed feelings for him.
Clearly and truly, she had fallen in love with him.
'Mr. Act, just say the word! I'll do anything for you!'
Then Act gives a sly... smile.
"You just said you'd do anything, right?"
'Yes!'
"There's no lying in those words, is there?"
'Of course not!'
"Then help the Heroes and assist in defeating the Demon King."
'YES! ...Wait, EHH!? EEEEEEEH!?'
Vivre's eyes bulged as she screamed.
"W-What? Demon King Extermination!? N-No way, no way, NO WAY! Even if I've gotten stronger... There's no way I can defeat a Demon King..."
Then Act pointed at the moon.
"Ugh, the moon is totally wrecked. Heal."
"Huh!? W-What!? Oh my gosh! Th-The moon is healing itself!?"
In an instant, Luna restored the moon, floating high in the sky above them.
'I-I can't believe it... Is she the Goddess of Healing or something?'
"Nope. She's the healer of the Hero Party."
'A healer who can restore the moon in the blink of an eye!? Such an extraordinary being exists!?'
Just then, the rest of the Hero Party burst into the room, drawn by the commotion.
"What's all this racket? Even at night... Wait, what the heck is that monster!?"
Ulgar shouted, staring at Vivre, who had transformed into a monstrous evil dragon.
And then...
'W-Whaaat!? W-What is that monster!?'
Vivre, equally shocked, echoed the same words upon seeing Ulgar.
She had grown stronger, and in doing so, she realized it.
This silver-haired man harbored an extraordinary level of strength.
'Th-This person is the Hero, huh? I see... with him around, we might actually have a chance against the Demon King...'
"Don't be stupid. He's number 2. The real Hero is—"
"Right here!"
At that moment, the Blonde-Haired Hero descended from the sky.
"Hey! Mr. Act! Good to see you! I was training on the moon, and then it suddenly started to crumble!"
"You've been on the moon this whole time?"
"Yep! Since this morning!"
There were several things to question, but Vivre had no time for that.
'HOGEEEEEE!'
The evil dragon suddenly flipped out at the sight of the newly appeared Blonde-Haired Hero, Lawrence.
"W-What is this... He's not human... This guy..."
He was not just a match for the Demon King's Four Generals; he was a creature whose power rivaled the Demon King himself.
Vivre felt that instinctively.
"Whoa! Who are you?"
'E, uh, I'm just a dragon passing through!'
Bad, bad!
An alarm bell was ringing in her heart.
No matter how strong she'd become, compared to the otherworldly monster before her, she was like a kitten.
"If I was discovered as a former Demon King's Four Generals' aide..."
"This is Vivre. She used to be the Demon King's Four Generals' aide, but now she's my subordinate."
'EEEEEH!? D-Did you know all along!?'
"Of course."
Act has the Appraisal Eye [Eye of the Time King] which can see the past and future.
Through Vivre's eyes, he saw that she had been fired from her position as a Four Generals' aide.
'D-Don't kill me!'
"Hmm! I won't kill you!"
'Huh? Why?'
"Because you're Act's subordinate, right? Then I won't kill you!"
Conversely, that means if she wasn't Act's subordinate, she would have been killed right here.
Vivre's back tingled with fear, but Act continued.
"She knows a lot about the Demon King's army and would be useful. Plus, she's a powerful Dragon, and she can even be our mode of transportation. You can use her however you like."
'B-But, that's... like being a pawn, isn't it...?'
"Unhappy? You said you'd do anything, didn't you?"
Vivre finally realized.
'Wait a moment... Did everything, from the beginning, play out exactly as you planned?'
Looking back, it was strange.
Act had the power to see the past.
At that moment, he must have seen Vivre as a member of the Demon King army.
So why did he spare her? Why was she treated so kindly, and even had her seal broken?
It was for the sake of drawing in a highly skilled monster, someone with knowledge of the Demon King's army, into the Hero's side.
'Uu... Everything was under your control all along...'
"So, what about the reply?"
Here, she could answer no... but Vivre wasn't ungrateful.
'All right. I'll help you, Hero!'
