Volume 2 Chapter 44 The Four Heavenly Kings of the East VS the Strongest Hero Party II
Meanwhile, one of the Demon King's Four Heavenly Kings, Jacky of the East Wall, was on a mission.
Ordered by the Demon King, he came to reclaim the stolen North Wall.
"Well, this will be easy."
From high above, Jacky looked down at the North Wall.
Once a fortress city of demons, now humans lived there normally.
"Those carefree monkeys have no idea. Soon, it will become a hellish pit."
A grin spread across his face.
No guilt at all about killing or hurting people.
In fact, he took joy in watching them suffer and die.
That was Jacky.
"Hehe... Now, let's get this show started."
With a swift motion, he spread his arms wide.
At that moment, a magic circle appeared beneath him.
Suddenly, dark clouds formed.
...No.
Looking closer, they were countless black insects.
Swarms of black bugs scattered into the air.
The pitch-black insects spiraled in the sky.
It reminded one of a whirlpool in the ocean.
"Let's begin... the delightful slaughter show!"
The moment Jacky focused his mind, the wave of black bugs surged toward the town where humans lived.
After the wave passed, nothing remained.
Each bug was small, but their biting power surpassed that of carnivorous beasts.
The sound of wings rubbing together, the ground being torn apart.
And most of all, the sight of countless tiny bugs rushing in filled people with primal fear.
"HAHA! TREMBLE IN FEAR! BEFORE THE MIGHT OF JACKY!"
The swarm of insects easily swallowed the North Wall and the people living there.
The sounds of crunching and gnawing echoed.
"You all were just unlucky...! Who would have thought the Great Hero, the hope of humanity, would be absent?!"
Jacky was gathering information through the bugs.
He attacked, taking advantage of the absence of the greatest obstacle, Lawrence.
Though he looked down on humans, he was wary of Lawrence, who had defeated Iliga and commanded Vivre.
"Hehe... Now, it's about the right time."
A snap echoed as Jacky clicked his fingers.
Instantly, all the insects that had been there vanished without a trace.
"AHAHA! THAT WAS AN EASY ENDING! Well, with the Great Hero not here, this is to be expected... Wait, what!?"
Shock filled Jacky as he took in the sight before him.
"No, this can't be!? Why is the North Wall... untouched!?"
Right there stood the North Wall, completely unharmed, along with the town.
The ground around it was torn apart, yet the town remained unchanged.
"What's happening... what on earth occurred!?"
Just then, a voice spoke up.
"Let me answer that."
Dark clouds suddenly gathered overhead.
A massive water dragon appeared with a roar of thunder.
On the dragon's head stood a knight, armed with a sword.
"Who are you!?"
"I am Suigetsu, the magic knight of the Lawrence Hero Party."
"Lawrence...? That's impossible, they should be absent!"
"Someone predicted this turn of events and placed me here."
"Impossible... someone saw through my plan...? Who is that?"
Even though it was the absent black-haired Guildmaster's strategy, Suigetsu owed him no explanation.
"Well, it doesn't matter who the opponent is. DIE HERE!"
At Jacky's command, countless insects surged toward Suigetsu.
A dark wave attacked the dainty girl.
Yet Suigetsu stood firm, thrusting her sword forward.
"[Water Dragon]!"
In that instant, moisture in the air concentrated and transformed into a giant dragon.
The water dragon opened its jaws wide and swallowed the insects whole.
"[Ice Dragon]!"
As Suigetsu commanded, the dragon instantly changed into a form of ice.
It shattered the insects completely.
"N-NO WAY... THIS CAN'T BE! MY INSECTS WERE TAKEN DOWN SO EASILY!?"
A powerful army of insects, the size of mountains, fell to a single attack from a young girl.
Unable to process this reality, Jacky shook his head.
"T-THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE! Come forth, [Vajra Beetle]!"
Jacky placed his hand on the ground.
At that moment, a giant beetle appeared, towering over everything.
Its shell was literally made of diamond.
A huge, pitch-black bug stood there, and Jacky grinned wickedly.
"This diamond shell is an armor of absolute defense! No matter how amazing your water dragon is, it can't break it!"
"I see... but alone, it's impossible for me──indeed."
"SHUT UP! GO!"
The beetle roared and charged forward.
"Water dragon, defensive formation!"
Suigetsu jumped off the water dragon she was riding.
The dragon coiled in the air, ready to face the beetle head-on.
"Now, to the Ice Dragon!"
Just like before, the beetle froze instantly.
"Ha ha! Useless! What does freezing it even mean?"
"I'll leave the rest to you... Higami!"
With Suigetsu's signal, a fierce gust of hot wind blew from behind.
It was a massive firebird wrapped in crimson flames.
"Wha...?! What is this!?"
Flames wrapped around the frozen beetle.
A pillar of fierce fire rose up, reaching for the sky.
"Amazing, Higami!"
Standing next to Suigetsu was the red-haired swordswoman, Higami.
With a complex expression, she watched the chaos she had caused.
"I feel like I'm turning into a monster myself..."
Even with help from her friends, she had burned away such a massive bug.
She never could have done that before.
"Thanks to Lord Act!"
"Well, yes, but... I can't be happy about it..."
Jacky gritted his teeth.
"WHY... do I have to be pushed back by a weakling like this!?"
"Hmph. Don't underestimate the weak. We're heroes too!"
Higami remembered.
The face of the one who told her to come here.
Act hates pointless things.
He would never let anything meaningless happen.
So, her presence here must mean something.
"Let's go, Suigetsu. You all too."
Before she knew it, swordsmen had gathered behind her.
The Hero Party from the Far East was all together now.
"Let's show the Demon King's Four Heavenly Kings that Lawrence isn't the only hero!"
Suigetsu nods, looking at the leader Higami.
Confidence seems to return to her.
"Yes! Let's do this, everyone!"
Once, the Hero Party fell apart.
Thanks to Act Age, they gathered the members and came together again.
"DON'T GET COCKY! YOU'RE JUST A HUMAN!"
From Jacky's angry face, a swarm of bugs bursts out.
But Higami doesn't flinch or run away.
"You demon scum, don't think you're so great!"
The heroes, shining again thanks to Act, are ready to rise once more.
