Volume 2 Chapter 40 The Villainous Guildmaster, Requesting the Hero Party
One day, at my guild [Gem of Heavenly Gift].
I called them over.
"Mr. Act! We're here!"
The big man with golden hair, Hero Lawrence, arrived in Guildmaster's Room.
"Sorry for calling you out of nowhere."
"No worries, Mr. Act! If it's your request, I'D RUSH EVEN FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STARS!"
Just then, a group teleported in.
"Hey, Lawrence. Don't just run off without us, we're your teammates!"
The spearman Ulgar, with long silver hair, sighed in exasperation.
Lawrence's Hero Party, including Ulgar.
"...Seriously, to teleport as a group like that is just wild."
The Hero Party from the far east, Higami and the others, arrived at my room.
"So, Guildmaster. Why did you call us? We're busy and don't have time for requests. Well, I might consider it if it's REALLY important."
"Wow... this guy seems REALLY excited!"
"She's not being honest at all."
Vivre and Luna stated, looking unimpressed.
"The reason I called isn't simple. I want to request something from you."

I glanced at Frederica.
She handed out maps to Lawrence and the others.
"Do you know about the [Ancient Hero]?"
"Isn't that... the AMAZING Hero who defeated the strongest Demon King, Venomzhard, long ago?"
"Yeah. We recently found out where the treasure left by that Hero is resting. I'd like you all to recover it."
Lawrence nodded firmly.
"GOT IT! LET'S GO!"
"Hold on, Lawrence. We're currently attacking the Demon King's country! We CAN'T just waste time treasure hunting!"
Ulgar's point made a lot of sense.
"But! The Guildmaster says we HAVE to. There must be some DEEP plan!"
Everyone nods in agreement.
"The treasure is in the Dungeon shown on that map. Your job is to get me there SAFELY."
"""!!"""
Everyone's eyes opened wide.
"Mr. Act, will you come with us too?"
"Yeah. The route to the treasure vault is complicated. I might be needed... What's up?"
"""YAY!"""
Lawrence and the others raised their hands and smiled.
"WE CAN PARTY WITH MR. ACT!"
"I'M SO HAPPY!"
"IT'S LIKE A DREAM TO ADVENTURE WITH THE GUILDMASTER!"
"Hey, hey, hey, DON'T ACT LIKE KIDS! You're all acting like kids!"
"But YOU'RE acting like a kid too, you know."
They teased each other.
"While Lawrence and the others go to the Hero's treasure vault, Higami, I leave the North Wall to you."
Higami, the Hero from the Far East, looked at me with worried eyes.
"Are you sure? I have to say, compared to Lawrence and the others, I'M WEAK. What if enemies attack while the Hero is gone...?"
This woman seemed to have lost some of her arrogance compared to before.
Seeing the strength of Lawrence and the others, she seemed to have lost confidence.
Overconfidence is bad, but losing too much confidence is also a problem.
"Oh well. This is UNEXPECTED."
"Wha, what do you mean, UNEXPECTED?"
"If it were the you from before, you'd say protecting the town from demons was NO BIG DEAL. But it seems you've LOST your spirit after losing to Lawrence."

Higami leaned forward to speak.
"THE NORTH WALL IS THE FRONT LINE OF THE DEMON KING EXTERMINATION UNIT. YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE IT TO SOME ADVENTURERS!"
"Ah, you lack confidence, don't you? Don't worry. Rozelia and the others are strong. At least STRONGER THAN YOU."
Higami gritted her teeth.
"I-I GOT IT! I'LL DO IT! I'LL SHOW YOU!"
Higami crossed her arms and leaned back, speaking proudly.
"WHILE LAWRENCE AND THE OTHERS ARE HAVING A NICE OUTING, I, HIGAMI, AND THE FAR EAST HERO PARTY WILL GUARD THE NORTH WALL!"
"I see. I'm counting on you."
"HMPH! HERE WE GO, YOU GUYS!"
Higami led the rest of the Far East Heroes out of the room.
"I'll contact you with details later. You all, be ready."
"""YES!"""
Lawrence and the others teleported back to the North Wall.
Only Frederica and I were left in the room.
"Impressive, Master."
Frederica, who had been watching quietly, smiled and placed a coffee cup in front of me.
"Lawrence and Higami. To train TWO HERO PARTIES with one plan is quite CLEVER."
I held the cup and sipped the coffee.
"Among the Hero's treasures, there are LEGENDARY WEAPONS they once used. They will help Lawrence defeat the Demon King. That's why you asked them for help, right?"
"Don't get me wrong. I just want the Hero's treasure."
"Higami has been getting stronger lately, but she seems DOUBTFUL of my power. So, you want to boost her confidence with this plan, right?"
"Don't misunderstand. I simply don't have enough people to spare."
"Oh, so you CLEARED THE SCHEDULE for Rozelia and the S-Rank party for this?"
Frederica giggles.
...What a sharp woman.
"Come on, Master. Don't you have something to say to me?"
She looked excited.
Her dog ears and tail wagged happily.
This dog, really.
"You silly dog. Protect this town and Kanaho."
Frederica looked at me seriously, staring into my eyes.
Then she knelt in front of me.
"I understand, Master. So, I can think of it like that, right?"
"Yeah, that's the thing."
"Got it. I, FREDERICA, WILL COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST PERFECTLY!"
She stood up, like a dog wagging its tail happily.
"THIS VIBE BETWEEN US IS JUST AMAZING, ISN'T IT?"
"What are you saying?"
"I'm the only one who understands you, master... heh, I quite like this position."
"Stop saying silly things. Just get out when you're done."
"Alright. I'll contact the Town Mayor and plan the town's security."
