The Guildmaster Act protected Kanaho, who is related to the Demon King.
She was walking in the town with Hero Lawrence by the north wall.

Act sends not only money but also people to help this town.
He was the one who told Lawrence to make this town his base.

Lawrence noticed a grandma crouching by the roadside.
"Are you OKAY, grandma?"
Lawrence approached and squatted down to ask.

It didn't seem like she was injured or sick.

The grandma's eyes went wide, and she shook her head.

Surprised, but obedient, the grandma climbed onto Lawrence's back.
With Kanaho on his shoulders and the grandma on his back, he also carried her bags.
Despite the weight, Lawrence's body didn't wobble at all.

Soon, he delivered the grandma safely home.
"I'm so SORRY!"

Waving goodbye to the grandma, Lawrence smiled and left.
Back on the main street, another person called out to him.
"Sir Lawrence, THANK YOU for mowing the grass the other day!"
"Yusha! THANKS for helping me find my cat the other day!"
The townsfolk all appreciated the Hero.
But it wasn't just for driving away monsters or demons.
They thanked him for carrying things and finding lost items, all small tasks.
Kanaho tilted her head, pondering over the Hero's actions.

Lawrence and the others arrived at the dining hall.
"YUM! DELICIOUS! Fried rice! So GOOD!"
The two at the table eat a huge amount of rice, gobbling it down.
Kanaho stares at Lawrence intently.
"HMM! What's WRONG, Kanaho?"
"Why do you help people, Lawrence?"
Lawrence tilts his head, thinking about Kanaho's question.
"Help? Did I do something?"
"Yeah. When you see someone in trouble, you help them. Even without being asked."
After that, he helped carry the goods of a merchant whose cart broke and returned a lost child to their mother.
But all of this was done by Lawrence without anyone asking him.
Kanaho found it strange.
Why does he help without being asked?
"That's because, [HELPING OTHERS HELPS YOU TOO]!"
"What does that MEAN?"
"It's a saying I learned from Mr. Act."
"Helping others doesn't help you?"
Lawrence shakes his head with a smile.
"I used to ask Mr. Act the same question as you, Kanaho. But it's different."
The hero squints his eyes, reminiscing about the past.
"Helping others isn't just about making someone happy. It also brings happiness back to you."
"Hmm... that's hard..."
Lawrence chuckles and pats Kanaho's head.
"Act told me that my power was given to help many people. This power is not just mine. So, I should use it for others, not for myself."
He breaks it down simply, passing on his teacher's lessons to the next generation.
"Kanaho, you also have great power. It's the power to PROTECT many SMILES. So, use it for others, not just for yourself!"
She remembers.
Lawrence always helped anyone in trouble, smiling as he did.
As a result, everyone talks to Lawrence with smiles.
For Kanaho, who grew up being called a man-eating monster by humans, it was... something to envy.
"If I do that, can I be like Lawrence?"

Kanaho's eyes sparkled at Lawrence's smile.

"HAHAHA! You're making me BLUSH!"
"I will also become a Hero!"
