Volume 2 Chapter 35 The Villainous Guildmaster, Reuniting with the Transcendent
I was going to collect Frederica, the runaway dog, from the depths where Transcendent lives.
"Wow... There's a FANCY mansion inside this dungeon. That's amazing!"
Vivre, who is now in human form, follows behind me.
She can't come here in her true form.
I need her legs.
"Why is sunlight coming through the windows even though we are underground?"
"It seems this mansion is in another realm."
"I see, so the owner is a DANGEROUS person, huh?"
Vivre speaks nervously.
She probably wants to go back quickly.
"How do you know such a scary person, Mr. Act?"
"They trained me before I started the guild. And I got the dog from them."
"That's good! If you know them, it should be SAFE!"
She sighs in relief.
"What are you worried about?"
"Well, I mean, what if they suddenly ATTACK us? Like, they won't just let us go!"
"Who knows?"
"Don't say scary things like that!"
After a bit,
we reached the door of the owner after going through a long hallway.
"I'll wait here!"
"Well, you might get attacked by guards while you wait."
"I'm coming with you!"
I opened the door and stepped into the room.
"Whaaat!? What is this!? MAGMAAA!?"
Inside was transformed into another realm.
It looked like a lava zone deep underground.
"Oh no! It's a TRAP! They don't plan to let intruders go! Aaaah!"
"Shut up!"
I smack Vivre on the head.
"Grrr!!!"
"Aah! A 3-headed MONSTER appeared! This must be the hellhound!"
The 3-headed dog stood in the lava zone.
Vivre trembled in fear at its imposing figure.
"I can't stay here! I'm going home! Fly away! Hmph!"
But even with all that spirit, Vivre couldn't turn into the Demon Dragon.
"Why!? Why can't I change!?"
Ignoring this guy who was crying, I headed towards the monster dog.
It's definitely a big dog.
It looks pretty strong too.
If it can scare the Demon Dragon, it must be even stronger.
"Mr. Act is gonna get EATEEENNN!"
The dog's 3 heads came right up to my face.
"Aaaah, that's so DANGEROUS!"
But the dog knelt in front of me.
"Huh!?"
I started to pet under the dog's neck.
Then the 3-headed guard dog closed its eyes happily and started to snort.
"W-whoa... You tamed the HELLHOUND without being scared, Mr. Act!"
"What a good dog. I'd like to take it home instead of my useless dog."
That's when it happened.
'No, that won't work. That one is our guard dog. Sorry, but you'll have to stick with your own dog.'
A voice echoed from somewhere.
It sounded like a young boy... or maybe a girl, such a strange voice.
"Stop with the SILLY illusions and show yourself already."
"Huh, illusions? But it's super hot here!"
"It's a high-level illusion. Not just looks, but even the heat feels real, making you think it is."
"Wow, to see through that... You're IMPRESSIVE!"
I pointed to a corner of the room.
"Vivre, that's the core. Destroy it."
The magician Vivre broke the magic tool that was the core of the illusion.
Then the illusion disappeared, and we returned to the original room.
"Not only did you see through it, but you destroyed the core too. You've gotten stronger, haven't you, Act?"
In the back of the room, there was a pile of books.
Lying lazily on top of it was someone... Transcendent.
"Long time no see, it's been about ten years, right?"
"Yeah, it's been a while, Amou."
Transcendent Amou smiled happily and looked at me.
