Volume 2 Chapter 23 The Villainous Guildmaster, Making Money with Chocolate
One day, after I finished breakfast at the mansion, the head chef's daughter came over with a smile.
"Sir Act, here, CHOCOLATE. Lili made it!"
The beastman girl, Lili, smiled and handed me a wrapped chocolate.
"What's this?"
"Today is Valentania Day!"
"Valentania..."
"Yes! It's a special day where you give chocolate to someone you LIKE!"
I guess this time of year is here already.
The whole town was lively — it must be because of this.
"Please take it!"
"...I guess I'll take it."
"YAY! Woohoo! Mom! Sir Act took LILI'S chocolate!"
Lili ran off with a grin to where her mother, the head chef, was.
Just then, the maids came up to me all at once.
"What do you want?"
"Master, we made CHOCOLATE! Please take mine too!"
All the maids thrust boxes of chocolate at me.
"Frederica."
"Yes."
The maid, Frederica, brought over a cart.
"Here, here. I'll take everyone's chocolate. Please put them HERE."
"""YES!"""
The chocolates from the maids were piled up on the cart.
"Everyone, thank you for this."
"""You're welcome!"""
"Go back to work once you're done here."
"""YES!"""
The maids left the dining room happily.
"Sir Act took it! Yay! I hope my feelings got through."
Well, well.
"This time of year came again. I wonder why everyone in this event always participates so DILIGENTLY."
"Tsun."
Frederica somehow turned her head away.
"...What's that about?"
"Nothiiing."
"We're heading out. Put that away in the magic bag."
"Hmph!"

After finishing changing clothes, I showed my face at Guild [Gem of Heavenly Gift].
"The GUILDMASTER is heeere!"
A Guild Member near the entrance raised their voice.
"Guildmaster! Please accept my CHOCOLAAATE!"
Thud thud thud──the Guild Members came rushing in like an avalanche.
"Okay, okay, I'll accept the chocolates. Line up in front of me, pleaaase."
Frederica spread her arms, forming a wall.
"Big sis, move aside!" "I wanna give it DIRECTLY!" "Guildmaster!"
Seriously, every single one of them...
"No can do, everyone. The Guildmaster is troubled, isn't he?"
""MS. KATRINA!""
The head receptionist, Katrina, approached with a faint, wry smile.
"Even if it's not directly, your Guildmaster-love feelings will get across."
"But still~" "I wanna hand it over myself..."
The Guild Members grumbled unhappily.
"The Guildmaster is busy too. Come on, everyone, line up properly in a single file."
"Fiiine..."
I left the rest to Katrina and Frederica and headed to the second floor.
Looking down from the stairs, I saw a huge line forming in front of the two.
"Dammit, I really wanted to give it to the Guildmaster directly this year~"
"Maybe we should wait outside his mansion next time?"
"No no, we can't bother the Guildmaster! That's the rule, right?"
"Oh yeah... DAMMIT..."
I (the Guildmaster) went to the room and looked over the approval documents.
After a while—
"Good morning, Sir Act!"
"Yui. Morning."
My apprentice Yui arrived for work.
"The floor below has a crazy line. All the Guild Members were giving you chocolates, Sir Act. You're seriously popular!"
"They've got too much time on their hands, seriously..."
As I looked over the documents, I noticed Yui still standing there.
"...What is it?"
"No... um... that... Sir Act..."
Yui was blushing and twisting her body nervously.
"Um... you already got a lot from everyone, so I thought it might be a bother... um..."
"Just leave it on that table over there."
"Okay!"

It was during the afternoon work.
"MR. ACT!"
A big man came down, DESTROYING the ceiling and waving his golden hair.
"Lawrence."
"Mr. Act! It's been a while! Yui-kun too!"
"Y-Yes... long time no see..."
Lawrence stood in front of me with a smile.
"Hey, Lawrence! You really should come in through the DOOR! That's just rude!"
When the door opened, the Hero Party, including Ulgar, came in.
"Oh! That's true!"
"Alright, I'll fix it."
The healing magician Luna quickly repaired the broken ceiling.
"What are you all here for?"
"I wanted to tell Mr. Act my feelings!"
Lawrence struck the air with his hand like a knife.
When he stuck his hand into what looked like a rip in space, he pulled out a plate of chocolate snacks.
"Huh, what was that just now!?"
"It's fondant chocolate! Eat it while it's HOT!"
"No, that's not what I mean! Did you just CUT THE SPACE with your hand!?"
"YES! If I store it in another space, I can serve it HOT!"
Ulgar sighed, looking exasperated.
"Seriously, Lawrence. Knowing this Guildmaster, he must've already received enough chocolate, right? Sending something you need to eat right now is just a hassle."
