Volume 2 Chapter 23-2 The Villainous Guildmaster, Making Money with Chocolate
"Hmm! Indeed... I apologize, Act!"
I try to return to the space.
"I never said NOBODY would eat it."
"Really?! I'm so happy!"
I receive a plate from Lawrence.
"Frederica, the forks. And tea for everyone."
"Hmph."
Frederica turns her face away and moves away from me.
Good grief.
"Guildmaster, I worked hard on this! I would be happy if you could accept it!"
The members of the Hero Party, including the magician Eli, place homemade chocolates on my table.
After a while.
The Hero Party, sitting on the sofa, is chatting while drinking tea.
"You guys are really foolish. You fell for the event planner's tricks so easily."

Ulgar proudly explains to Eli.
"This event called 'Valentania' didn't exist originally. Someone decided it was [an important day to give chocolate to your loved ones] and made it popular. As a result, chocolate sales go up. Merchants are RAKING IT IN. The one who planned the event is also making a HUGE profit."

"Do you guys even have time to come here?"

The Demon Dragon, which has taken on a Human form, droops its head sadly.
"No, Lawrence, you always come here by yourself without anyone's help."
"You can run faster than the Demon Dragon... Amazing, Mr. Lawrence!"
"No, it's already strange that you're running in the sky anyway."
Glancing sideways, Ulgar says this while looking at me.
"What's going on with you lately?"
"It's nothing... really!"
Then Teamer's Mida finds it on purpose.
"Ulgar, isn't that thing in your pocket supposed to be handed over?"
"Ugh, don't say that, IDIOT!"
Ulgar stands up and comes over to me.
"Well, um, I'm not some fool who just goes along with the event planner's schemes... but, well, I'm not ungrateful enough to forget everyday kindness either."
"What are you trying to say, you?"
Looking away, Ulgar takes out a box from his pocket.
"You should feel HONORED. I plan to skewer the Demon King's heart and become the CENTER OF ATTENTION from girls all around the world, and you get the HONOR of receiving chocolate from this ULGAR OF VALENTINA!"
The party members listening in the back say with a wry smile.
"You're totally being played too, you know."
"One way or another, you really like the Guildmaster, Mr. Ulgar. You're not honest, you know~"
"As expected of Mr. Act! You're so POPULAR!"
"Ugh, you guys are so NOISY!"
I sigh as I take the chocolate from Ulgar.
"Thank you."
"Hmph! This doesn't have any special meaning, so don't get the wrong idea, okay?"
Ulgar says, his face turning red.
"Mr. Ulgar, you're so tsundere-ssu."
"Wha!? Vivre, you're a bit sharp!"
"Hmph. It's because of your bad habit of always using me like a horse carriage."
"No way, Ulgar! You mustn't forget training, even when you go somewhere! Run through the sky! Or teleport if you can't!"
"That's something only YOU can do, AAAHHH!"

That night.
I return to the mansion and sit on my private room's bed.
"Frederica"
"Hmph."
I call out to the maid standing in the corner of the room, looking grumpy.
"How much chocolate did I get?"
"Hmph."
Frederica is looking away.
I sigh.
"Hand over the chocolate already."
"Hand it over?"
"...I haven't gotten any chocolate from YOU yet."
"One more push"
"...Can I have your chocolate, too?"
"Aww, okay then~♡"
The dog ears and tail she was hiding peek out.
Her tail and ears wag, pat pat pat, like she's in a good mood.
"It's chocolate I made with all my heart, for MASTER♡"
She handed me a wrapped box she'd been hiding in her bosom.
"Thanks. Always sorry to bother you."
"No, no~♡ I love Master so much~♡ But to say you wanted it yourself... Did you want Frederica's chocolate that much~♡"
If I don't do this every time, she gets in a bad mood.
That's why I say I want it myself.
"Frederica. The magic bag."
"Yes, yes."
It looks like a leather bag about the size of your palm.
When she turns it upside down on the cart, a WHOLE BUNCH of wrapped chocolate boxes pile up.
"This is just a small part. Chocolates are being sent to the Guildmaster one after another from all over."
"Seriously, it's TOO popular."
I sigh and lie down on the bed.
I pick one up and put it in my mouth.
"Didn't you start this yourself?"
Frederica puts away the chocolates piled on the cart.
"As expected of you, Master. You made Valentinia popular and contributed to chocolate sales."
Not long after I was kicked out of the Guild, I started this event as part of a way to get money.
"You made a lot of money again this year. As expected of the VILLAINOUS GUILDMASTER. ...But, I think every year, isn't it unnecessary to eat ALL of them?"
I finished eating the first one, so I pick up the second one and eat it.
"No, it was a stupid question. Master is a kind person who would never trample on the feelings of the person who gave them to you."
"Don't get the wrong idea. I just rationally decided that it would be a waste of the cost of the ingredients if I threw them away."
