"Let us GIVE it a try too, Mr. Bacamus!"
"Tch, fine, WHATEVER..."
And then it happened.
"...I won't forgive you."
A jolt of electricity coursed through Kanaho's body.
"I WON'T forgive you... for what you did to my SISTER..."
Crackle, crackle!
Blue-white lightning burst forth all around her.
"W-WAIT, this is BAD, isn't it...?!"
Kanaho shouted at the terrified thugs.
"DIEEEEEEEEEEE!"
It was in that instant.
A massive sword of lightning appeared in the sky.
"A-A SWORD?! The Ultra Magic [Divine Thunderbolt Sword]!?"
"NO WAY!? You cast Ultra Magic WITHOUT chanting?! And by a little kid no less?!"
The thugs were completely paralyzed in fear before the overwhelming power pouring out of Kanaho.
"H-HURRY up and do SOMETHING!"
"I-I CAN'T!"
"If we get hit by that Ultra Magic, the ENTIRE TOWN will be blown away...!"
"HIIIIII! RUN for it!"
To protect her sister, Kanaho instinctively tried to unleash an Ultra Magic that she had never been taught...
But...
"Fuh...?"
Kanaho collapsed right there, unconscious.
Unable to control the magic, she released all of her power at once into the air.
As a result, the spell fizzled out.
"W-WE'RE SAVED...?!"
Bacamus fell down with a thud beside her.
He ended up wetting himself in fright.
Oh no...!
Bacamus shouted, his face flushed with embarrassment.
"Y-YOU guys... KILL HER! That LITTLE BRAT who made me LOOK FOOLISH!"
"Y-YES, sir...!"
The thugs pulled out their knives and moved toward Kanaho, who lay on the ground.
"P-please, STOP..."
Staggering to her feet, Kasumi positioned herself in front of Kanaho.
"Get out of the way, you COW...!"
A thug raised his knife menacingly.
"DIEEEEE!"
And then, it happened.
"Gah...!"
The thug was sent flying backward with incredible force.
"What are you making such a racket about, you FOOLS?"
"G-GUILDMASTER...!"
The Guildmaster of the Adventurers Guild, Act Age, was right there.
He glanced at Kanaho, who had collapsed, and at the battered Kasumi.
"W-WHAT the heck are YOU!?"
"How DARE you lay a hand on my precious subordinate!"
The quiet rage radiating from Act made the thugs shrink back in fear.
"W-WHY are you so SCARED of that guy?! TAKE HIM DOWN!"
"Who do you THINK you're ordering around?"
THUD!
All the thugs dropped to the ground in an instant.
"W-WOAH... he's AMAZING... it was like... he disappeared!"
Act had used his Unique Time Acceleration ability to move at incredible speed and take out the thugs in one fell swoop.
"Is that IT?"
"H-HIIIII! D-DO YOU even KNOW who I AM?! I'm BACAMUS, the ELDEST SON of the Baron family!"
Act approached the trembling Bacamus, looking down at him with an intimidating gaze.
Bacamus shook in fear, his body quaking as he met Act's piercing golden eyes.
"It DOESN'T MATTER who you are. I will NEVER FORGIVE YOU for hurting my subordinate."
"Y-YOU... just you WAIT!"
With tears streaming down his face, Bacamus ran off in a ridiculous hurry.
Act turned around and rushed over to Kasumi.
"Are you alright?"
"Ugh... Guildmaster..."
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have let you get hurt. We need to get back to the Guild right away. Can you stand?"
Kasumi nodded weakly.
But then, she suddenly plopped back down with a thud.
"I relaxed and... lost my strength..."
"...Just STAY still."
With that, Act scooped Kasumi up and carried her on his back.
"Hey, KID. Can you get up? Come on."
"U-ugh... WAIT! Sis!"
Kanaho had only temporarily fainted from running out of magic.
As soon as she recovered her magic, her eyes fluttered open and she hurried toward her sister.
"Are you okay?!"
"Yeah... I'm fine."
"That's GREAT... Guildmaster, THANK YOU!"
Snorting softly, Act continued on with Kasumi on his back, making his way toward the Guild.
Following closely behind them was Kanaho.
"Guildmaster... I'm so sorry... It's my fault... causing you trouble."
"Don't TALK. It'll HURT your mouth, right?"
"I'm sorry... I'm really sorry..."
Because of me, I ended up opposing the nobles.
I caused trouble for the Guild.
And yet, that man, Act Age, never laid the blame on me.
On the contrary, he was more worried about my well-being.
"Guildmaster... thank you..."
"Just STOP talking. Get some rest."
I clung tightly to his back... and whispered softly.
"............I LOVE YOU."
