Volume 2 Chapter 16 Oni Sisters Visit the Rumored Villainous Guildmaster IV
It had been a little while since Kasumi had arrived at Guildmaster Act's lair on that fateful day.
In the depths of a dungeon, a noble's son trembled with dread.
"Damn it... how did it come to this?!"
"W-What should we do, Sir Bacamus...?"
His name was Bacamus.
The son of a baron.
Bacamus had yearned to be an adventurer.
Mistaking his own abilities, he had ventured into the dungeon with a few guards.
As fate would have it, he stumbled into a trap and found himself completely unable to return.
"Damn! This is all your fault! Damn!"
Bacamus lashed out at his guards.
"If we can't get out, it's all on you guys!"
That assumption was terribly misguided.
The guards had tried desperately to keep Bacamus from coming down here in the first place.
It was absurd to think that someone with no adventuring skills could explore a dungeon and come out unscathed.
Yet, he had convinced himself he was capable, only to fall prey to the traps.
He had only himself to blame for this disaster.
"Ugh... what am I going to do? Spending my whole life down here... I don't want that... Papa..."
He whimpered helplessly when suddenly,
"Ah, there it is!"
a voice rang from above──a girl's cheerful tone.
"Hey! Are you okay up there?!"
Bacamus snapped his head up.
But he couldn't see her face; she was too far away.
"W-Who are you?!"
"We're here! We were sent by your father to find you, Sir Bacamus! We're adventurers!"
The voice stirred excitement among the guards.
"Rescue! We're saved!"
"Now we can finally go home!"
"How are you going to help us?!"
Yes, this was a pit trap.
The distance from above to the ground was considerable.
Bacamus and his guards were fortunate that one of them wielded wind magic.
But that spell had drained most of their magical energy, leaving them with little power to escape.
"Don't worry! We'll be right there!"
"What...? That's impossible! From that distance... how can you...?"
Suddenly... the woman leaps into the pit.
With the grace of a seasoned acrobat, she kicks off the dungeon walls and descends into the depths.
Eventually, she lands elegantly right in front of the Bacamus crew.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!"
"W-Whoa! You're amazing! What's your name?"
The green-haired woman bows with a smile.
"I'm Kasumi, an Adventurer of the *Gem of Heavenly Gift*! I've come to assist you all!"
The guards gasp in awe, "Oh wow...!"
"She's from the group that produced Hero Lawrence...!"
"I see, no wonder her movements are so impressive!"
"Thank you, Ms. Kasumi!"
Meanwhile, Bacamus ponders, "...the *Gem of Heavenly Gift*...?"
"Well, whatever. Hey Kasumi, hurry and get me outside!"
"Yes! Right away!"
Even though she was in a position to be rescued, Kasumi didn't let Bacamus's haughty demeanor ruffle her.
She was being considerate of his noble status.
She understood that her actions could reflect on the Guild's reputation.
She didn't want to cause any trouble.
"But Kasumi, how do we escape from here? Do you plan to drop a rope from above?"
"No, I'll search for an exit."
"Don't be ridiculous. There's no exit! We searched high and low ourselves."
Kasumi squinted and listened intently.
Then, she moved to a nearby wall and plunged her knife into it.
CLANG!
The sound echoed, and a hidden exit appeared before them.
"......"
Everyone gaped in disbelief.
She had found the exit in mere seconds, an exit they had been searching for days.
"Alright, let's get out of here!"

"I can't believe it... we can actually get out unscathed..."
Bacamus muttered in disbelief.
After that, Kasumi led the way to the exit.
Her skills as a thief were remarkable.
She detected all the traps and sensed the presence of enemies from afar, quicker than anyone else.
Moreover, she effortlessly uncovered hidden passages, guiding Bacamus and the others without a scratch and in record time to the outside world.
"Thank you, miss! You're absolutely amazing...!"
The guards, all teary-eyed, grasped Kasumi's hand and bowed their heads repeatedly.
"Wow, the *Gem of Heavenly Gift* truly is impressive!"
"I can't believe such a remarkable thief is part of the guild...!"
Hearing their praise made Kasumi beam with joy.
Meanwhile, Bacamus snorted, "HMPH..." and spoke up.
