"But, why didn't I notice this at the church? It's clearly shown on the status board."
Michio adjusted the icon to [Unlimited magic power].

- Type: Passive Skill
- Effect: Constantly absorbs magic energy from the surroundings.
Important Notes:
- If you don't have [Mana Control], the absorption won't stop and your body will overflow with magic—very dangerous!
- The skill is currently inactive until you learn [Mana Control].

"What the hell... all I can do is sigh. The Earth Mother Goddess Gaia should've had some authority back on Earth. I want to use Earth magic soon, and I gotta learn [Mana Control] right away. But... how the heck do I learn it?"
"Then there's the blessing. She said she'd give me some bonuses."
This time, he adjusted the icon to [Goddess Gardea's Blessing (Minor)].

- +20% power for Earth magic and healing magic
- -10% MP cost for Earth magic and healing magic
- Small resistance to status ailments
- Otherworld Language Understanding (bonus)).

"Whoa, this is pretty good. The [skills] are weak, so this looks even better. [Minor] resistance to status ailments is great. Does this mean I won't catch colds?"
"What's this last one, [Otherworld Language Understanding]? I can already talk, right? Maybe... I can now read the writing here."
Michio hadn't studied the language of this world yet, so he couldn't read it.
"I've gotta study magic too, so this might be just what I needed. Thank you, Lady Gardea, for the 'bonus.'"
Michio looked up at the ceiling and said thanks.
Maybe the [skill] was a little disappointing, but thinking about how he could actually use magic made his excitement explode.
While Michio was grinning, imagining what was ahead, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," he said, inviting them in.
"Excuse me,"
said Randolph, the house steward, as he walked in.
"Master is calling you in the guest room,"
Randolph said with a gentle smile.
"Alright, I'll be right there."
Michio closed his status board by thinking "status close," then headed to the guest room.
When Michio stopped in front of the guest room door, Randolph asked Luke for permission to enter.
"Master, young master Cain is here," he said.
"Hmm, let him in."
In the guest room, Luke and Lydia were sitting on the sofa drinking tea.
Michio sat on the sofa facing them, and a maid brought tea for Cain.
Lydia smiled at Cain.
They both stayed quiet for a while.
Lydia then gave Luke a look and said "You.".
"O-oh, Cain, congratulations on your 'baptism ritual' today. Getting 3 [skills] isn't common even for the Sanroze family. Don't get down!"
"You!" Lydia glared at Luke.
Michio looked confused, then Luke started talking.
"The [Earth magic] you got today, even if the level goes up, it doesn't have any attack magic that works. And the other one, [Magic circle magic], wasn't even in the Sanroze family's skill guide. It might be a rare [skill]. Plus, since you have [healing magic] inherited from Linore, don't be too bummed out."
Luke was clearly disappointed.
"Why should I be the one to get bummed out?"
Michio asked, puzzled.
