Volume 5 Chapter 10 ACT.141 Backside (III)
Something hiding above, on the roof, sensed the presence and tried to escape.
But it was too late to think about getting away alive.
After all, they were dealing with a Reincarnator.
"I'm going to drop it now."
──They were monsters wielding supernatural powers and cheats.
The girl in black had a glowing object in her hand, and something shot up at high speed towards the ceiling.
The object pierced through the ceiling, aiming to shoot the spy hiding on the roof.
──But it wasn't just one shot.
With a tremendous roar, countless objects were fired in quick succession, tracing the path of the fleeing spy.
Something much smaller and faster than arrows opened up numerous holes in the roof like a river of stars.
Feeling a hit from one of the shots, the girl opened her mouth.
"Hit!"
"Did you kill them?"
"No, I think I just grazed them."
Hearing her answer, the leader put a hand on his chin, thinking.
"Then let's capture them and interrogate them. I want to know who they work for."
After hearing the leader, Karin nodded and said,
"Then we'll go outside and collect them."
* * *
The spy, pierced in the left leg by a mysterious substance from below, tumbled off the roof.
Luckily, thanks to his training, he managed to roll and ended up with only minor injuries from the fall.
He landed behind an empty house and thought he needed to put more distance between himself and them, trying to stand up along the wall.
But then──.
"Found you!"
──He heard the exact same voice echoing at the exact same moment.
When he looked up at the creepy sound, he saw 2 girls with the *exact same face* peering in from the alley behind the empty house.
He thought one of them looked just like the girl named Karin.
"You were hiding in the gap."
"""Then we need to secure you before you can harm yourself."""
Then 3 more appeared, all with the same face.
Five Karins gathered──no, it was more than 5.
As he tried to escape in the opposite direction from where they were, he turned back.
""""""I won't let you get away!""""""
There were countless Karins peering at him.
The sight was so creepy that he almost screamed.
A swarm of Karins was invading the narrow space behind him.
They moved their arms and legs in perfect unison, like a giant centipede──and he felt a chill run down his spine.
"Eek, ah, ahh!"
He was a trained spy, after all.
He usually didn't let anything disturb his mind.
──Unless it was something truly extraordinary.
"I will hold your arms and legs so you don't harm yourself."
"Then I will make sure you don't bite your tongue off."
"Understood."
He was pinned down by countless hands, and they forced his mouth open, shoving their hands inside──.
──He sensed that his fate was sealed right there.
