Volume 4 Chapter 6 ACT.97 Saint and Special Service Priest (II)
"So, Conwell, please keep things calm in my jurisdiction, okay?"
That's when Special Agent Curtis, still crouched down, whispered to himself.
"Oh, what's up?"
Hearing that voice out of nowhere, he let out an inaudible scream and jumped up as if struck by lightning, straightening his posture.
Then, turning towards the voice, he saw the figure of a girl standing at the entrance where he had seen Rai off.
"S-Saint Stella"
Upon the sudden visit of the person he had just been thinking about, his voice calling her name came out a bit shaky.
Saint Stella smiled sweetly and asked him a question.
"Curtis, did my Rai do something wrong?"
Feeling an indescribable pressure in her voice, Special Agent Priest Curtis broke out in a strange sweat from his forehead.
"Conwell got injured on this mission, so he's taking a leave of absence for treatment"
In response to Curtis's explanation, she remained silent.
Feeling anxious at her reaction, he continued to speak.
"W-Well, there are Hooker, Godwin, and Lowe at headquarters now, so we should be able to handle anything that comes up"
After saying that much, she finally opened her mouth.
"I was going to *ask to help*, but that's fine then"
Saint Stella muttered this and let out a small sigh.
"I'm sorry, did I cause you any trouble?"
"No, don't worry about it. If you made that decision, it must be the right one"
──Special Agent Priest Curtis considers himself to be a disposable asset, but there's a bit of a misunderstanding there.
At the very least, Saint Stella has a certain level of trust in his abilities.
Moreover, she knows that he is feared.
That's why she also knows he won't do anything to her disadvantage.
"Considering my Rai, you're giving instructions, so I'm not going to get angry, right?"
"Y-Yes"
After smiling slightly at him, she once again made a serious face and called out the name of Special Agent Priest Curtis.
"Curtis, gather those 3 later. We have a new job──it's bug extermination."
