Volume 4 Chapter 31 ACT.122 Assault (II)
Rai looks at Dominic but checks Saria out of the corner of his eye.
She is blindfolded and gagged, tied up behind her back, but there are no visible injuries.
Since she doesn't react to Dominic's angry voice so close to her, it's likely she has been drugged and knocked out.
Rai grits his teeth and asks with a growl.
"She's just a normal person. She can't handle drugs like us. What will you do if she has side effects?"
"At that time, I will sincerely apologize──now!"
Dominic suddenly throws something at Rai from his pocket.
Rai, with his sharp reflexes, sees it's a paper package the size of a fist and dodges instead of blocking.
There's nothing scarier than *something unknown* being thrown at you.
Using the shift in his weight from dodging, Rai starts to run smoothly across the ground.
Dominic hesitates, unsure how to respond to Rai's movement, and takes a step back.
"Boss!"
In that moment, one of Dominic's confused subordinates shouts and throws a long, large package to him.
Without even glancing at it, Dominic catches it with his outstretched right hand and swings it up toward Rai.
There's nothing scarier than something unknown inside a package.
Just in time, Rai rolls to avoid the attack──and ends up *behind* Dominic.
"──Oh no!"
Rai quickly stands up from his defensive position.
The swift sword strike goes not toward Dominic but toward his subordinate──the one who threw the package.
The blade cuts upward diagonally, slicing through his arm.
Before the pain reaches his brain, Rai steps in deeper.
The blade that rose for the first strike now comes down for a second.
This time, it slashes diagonally from the shoulder, a fatal blow that reaches the heart.
"Ah, hey!"
Meaningless words escape the man's mouth, becoming his last words.
"──Now, 2 left."
