Volume 4 Chapter 22 ACT.113 Encounter (I)
"I can't stay like this forever."
If I stay out too long, Rai might feel something is off when I return.
I quickly give control back to Rai and head to Saria.
"Wait──"
I call out to Saria as I turn the corner to the terrace, but...
Rai's words get cut off.
──Because she wasn't there.
Instead of her, a man sat in her place.
He was an older man with a strong build and a noticeable scar on his cheek, his dull blonde hair slicked back.
The moment Rai saw him, his spine went cold──no.
It felt like boiling steel was poured into his heart, a wave of intense anger.
The man noticed Rai staring and smiled like they were old friends.
"Long time no see, kid."
Rai recognized the man's face.
He fought to keep his boiling rage in check and slowly walked over.
He knew it was a bad idea to attack in a fit of anger.
He quietly took a seat across from the man.
"It's been 3 years, uncle."
"Oh, by the way, how's Aslan?"
"My master is dead."
"──I see."
The man looked surprised and then sad when he heard about Aslan Aldabaran's death.
But still, there was no opening in the man's demeanor.
Charging in without a plan was too risky.
"Don't look so scary, kid."
"──Which mouth says that?"
"Oh, so scary, so scary."
The man laughed off Rai's angry voice, which would make most people tremble.
"──But, if you *don't take* her first, you won't sit at the table to talk, right?"
"You think I would forgive you after you hurt Saria?"
"You will *forgive* me, you will."
The man, who looked like he might laugh defiantly, was named Dominic Dubois.
Rai's master, Aslan Aldabaran's ally, a former Holy Knight Commander of the Holy Church──and now a top executive of the Chaos Cult.
