Volume 4 Chapter 20 ACT.111 Confession of a Special Duty Priest (I)
The sun was right above when Special Agent Priest Curtis stretched after sitting at his desk for a long time.
He raised his arms high, and his back and shoulders cracked satisfyingly.
Hearing that, he felt a small sense of achievement.
"Well, I'm not done yet."
That small feeling of success was short-lived.
His thoughts quickly returned to reality.
He rested his chin on his hand and stroked his freshly shaved face, deep in thought.
There were 2 urgent tasks he needed to do.
The first was about a report from Noah Lowe.
"The Reincarnator bought a lot of livestock through Lord Eltor?"
The report was based on what they learned from the former Lord Eltor during a recent mission.
The content was very strange.
The Reincarnator, who had that possession ability, offered a deal: buy and transport livestock.
In return, they wanted treatment for their daughter.
"It's hard to refuse this."
He murmured, feeling deep sympathy for Lord Eltor.
For Eltor, the risk seemed small compared to the chance to save his beloved daughter.
If the deal involved something worse, like mass murder or cover-ups, Eltor might have refused.
Thinking this way, he had to admit the other side was clever.
"And it's strange they didn't slaughter *the livestock* before sending them."
Slaughtering and processing them right away is much easier and cheaper.
Why didn't they do that?
Did they have another purpose for the livestock besides food?
He would need to track what happened to them after the purchase.
Just as he thought this, Special Agent Curtis let out a light sigh.
It was a sigh of relief.
"But, both the old man and his daughter are safe, thanks to Conwell being there."
Rai Conwell.
The youngest and most excellent Holy Knight──and also the most merciless knight.
If someone gets in the way of his Reincarnator hunt, he won't hesitate to take them out.
And if someone teams up with a Reincarnator, he's the type to deal with them first as if they're the same.
That those 2 were safe with him around was a surprise to Agent Curtis.
──Somehow, he felt like he saw a hint of kindness or humanity in him.
"Maybe, there's a side to the young knight I don't know about."
