Volume 4 Chapter 16 ACT.107 Two People’s Meal (I)
A few minutes after leaving the crowd at the Holy Spring.
A strange silence hung between Rai and Saria.
The reason was their hands were still linked, but neither knew when to let go.
Saria felt nervous and shy, her cheeks burning bright.
Rai, while holding her hand, was also watching the people around them.
He noticed that, just as Noah said, a few Holy Knights in casual clothes were nearby.
Regular Holy Knights and Rai's Purge Knights had different jobs, so they rarely worked together.
But Rai knew a few from the Training Grounds.
He had been quietly keeping an eye out, but seeing that there were enough people around made him feel a bit relieved.
"By the way, Saria,"
"Huh?!"
Saria, still flustered, jumped at his sudden question.
Rai found her reaction a bit strange but decided to keep talking.
"Where are we going now?"
"Oh..."
With Rai's simple question, Saria finally snapped back to reality.
She realized she had come this way without thinking.
"Oh, sorry, Rai! I wanted to go have lunch!"
"So, should we go back to the 'Donkey's Mane Inn'?"
"No way! I really don't want to!"
Saria quickly denied Rai's suggestion, surprised by his choice.
"'Donkey's Mane Inn' is the best restaurant in Benetonash, I know that, but still!"
"Hehe."
Watching her flustered but passionate argument made Rai chuckle.
He smiled like a typical boy his age.
"So, shall we try the second or third best restaurant today?"
"Y-Yeah, I think it's around here... Oh, and can we keep talking about second and third things just between us?"
Rai heard this little addition and couldn't help but burst into laughter.
