Volume 4 Chapter 1 Prologue: Vacation
"Conwell, you're on vacation for a while."
"──Huh?"
After finishing his mission in Proxima from the Eltor Domain, Purge Knight Rai Conwell returned to the Holy Church headquarters in Benetonash, the second-largest city of the Kingdom.
After giving various reports to his superior, Special Agent Priest Curtis, he was told that at the end.
"Huh, a vacation?"
"Isn't your right arm broken?"
The other day, Rai had broken his dominant arm in a battle in Proxima.
When asked, he showed by moving his splinted right arm around.
"I'm fine, I can still fight."
"No, that's not the issue."
The Special Agent Priest pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply in response to Rai's diagonal answer.
"By very general standards, a fracture is considered a serious injury, you know."
"No problem."
"If not, I wouldn't say anything, Conwell."
The Special Agent Priest let out a dry laugh as if he were exasperated while saying this.
During missions, it's normal for Purge Knights to push through and keep fighting even with a fracture.
But this time, the situation was different.
"Right now, there are 3 other Purge Knights available in Benetonash besides you. So, it's necessary to let you rest while we have the chance."
"But Special Agent Priest..."
"If Howell was in the same condition and said the same thing, what would you do?"
"That's──yes, but..."
Having been reprimanded like that, Rai finally acknowledged his own wrongdoing with reluctance.
"Understood. Then, I will humbly take a vacation as ordered."
"Good."
After changing his posture to bow once, Rai turned on his heel to leave the room──but he was called back by the Special Agent Priest.
"Wait, Conwell. By the way, where are you planning to go now?"
Rai turned around when called.
He answered the Special Agent Priest about his plans for afterward as if it were nothing special.
"To the Training Grounds, for voluntary training."
"Rest, Conwell."

Purge Knight, 6th in the order, Rai Conwell.
It has been 3 years since he was appointed at the age of 14, but the truth is he had never taken a complete break during this time.
──In other words, this too young knight did not know *how to take a break*.
