Rai screws up his face at the bag bulging with chunks of meat.
Rai makes a living off dealing with Reincarnators, but he doesn't particularly enjoy killing or corpses.
That's why he feels a strong aversion to the grotesqueness within.
"Did you really go out of your way to search for this?"
Thus, Rai can't fathom what value this Reincarnator's meat holds.
Leone herself spent half a day, even offering a reward to the layabouts in the slums, just to find it.
"Surely Ms. Leone doesn't have a *hobby* of collecting such... war spoils?"
Taking a half-step back, Rai mutters with a slightly pale face.
He's quite put off by the hobby he's inferred from this 'souvenir.'
"Wait, no no, don't get the wrong idea!!"
Seeing Rai's reaction, Leone flaps her arms wildly, denying it in a fluster as if suddenly sobered.
"I don't have that kind of hobby either! ──But this will serve as evidence to accurately assess their cheat abilities."
Saying this, Leone turns back to Rai, her gaze serious.
"Rai, you know that Reincarnators' cheat abilities vary, but they do have some commonalities, right?"
"Yeah, more or less."
The cheat abilities that Reincarnators possess.
Although these powers come in a myriad of forms, there are indeed some commonalities──or rather, *rules*.
The first rule: a cheat ability is unique to each soul.
The second: using a cheat ability brings pleasure and dependency.
The third: if something created from nothing loses its form, it vanishes without a trace.
"──Hm?"
Thinking on this, Rai notices something.
"It hasn't vanished?"
The third rule: "If something created from nothing loses its form, it vanishes without a trace."
The meaning of "created from nothing" is actually quite multifaceted.
Let's say there was a cheat ability that could create ice out of thin air.
If that cheat was about creating ice from scratch, even a tiny imperfection would cause the ice to vanish completely, leaving not a trace of water or steam.
But if it was about releasing cold air to cool the moisture in the air and form ice, the ice would remain.
That's because in the first case, the thing disappearing was the cold itself.
Taking that into account, Rai thought.
Quickly mending the severed limbs, it did seem like creating something from nothing.
But the torn pieces of flesh weren't disappearing.
──So, are these pieces the originals?
"No, I have 2 right arms."
Then, one of them must be an arm created with a different cheat ability.
And it doesn't disappear even after being cut off.
"Maybe the Reincarnator's cheat ability isn't just a simple regeneration ability?"
