In Gardner's territory, the fight was over.
Far away in the royal capital, the sky was clear and blue, but it was a quiet afternoon.

The Church started to move because of the problems that kept bothering the people of the royal capital.
Why the Church? Because of the [Pilgrim of Truth].
Those guys, they got too big for their britches and said mean stuff about the goddess the Church believes in.
The Church didn't care if they were talking about the end of the world or some new religion.
If they just crushed them, people would say the Church was doing bad stuff, so the Church had to be careful.
But they went too far when they insulted the goddess.
They stepped where they shouldn't have, and the Church got mad.
It's not the old, rotten Church. The new Church is full of honest people, like Archbishop Ridley, and they're almost like crazy believers.
For them, the goddess is everything, and to insult her is like spitting at the sky.
The Church was pissed, so they got the Church Knights ready last night and started looking for the [Pilgrim of Truth].
Normally, the Church would be seen as mean, but people liked that the Knights were doing something to help.
Because the [Pilgrim of Truth] was causing most of the trouble in the royal capital.
The Church Knights caught some crazy believers who were trying to do bad stuff.
They made the people who were talking about the end of the world listen to their sermons.
Stories like that started to spread last night, and now the [Pilgrim of Truth] is scared of the Church Knights and hiding.
"So? Now that the Church is doing stuff, are you sure we should help them?"
Randy tilted his head, and Catherine was right in front of him, puffing out her cheeks and saying, "You're so annoying."
"We're not going home now."
Catherine pointed at the ground──or rather, the school courtyard.
Randy, Liz, Catherine, and Leon were all standing in the school courtyard.
According to Catherine, the eclipse was supposed to start early afternoon, so now they were just waiting for the eclipse to begin and for Lucius to show up.
"You gotta crush what they want, right?"
Since the enemy's goal was probably Ellie's body, Catherine pursed her lips and said stopping that was for the Church's sake.
Randy thought it still sounded dangerous, but Catherine just shook her head, saying it was pointless to worry.
Her expression probably gave it away.
"Both Leon and I know it's dangerous, but we're going anyway. I want to see it through."
Meeting Catherine's steady gaze, Randy sighed deeply and nodded, "Got it."
"Then I won't say anything more. Just one thing..."
Randy exchanged looks with Liz, and the two bowed their heads at the same time.
"Take care of her."
"Don't worry, we got this!"
Catherine laughed loudly, but Leon next to her rolled his eyes and said, "If there's a fight, it's probably me, though."
With the final check done, the 4 of them sat down at an empty terrace table, waiting for Lucius who still hadn't shown up.
Normally, the courtyard would be lively after the entrance ceremony, full of blooming trees nearby, but the terrace with only 4 people felt incredibly lonely.
"...When all this is over..."
Liz muttered softly, catching everyone's attention.
"When it's all done, let's have lunch here again."
Liz smiled, and Randy nodded, "Yeah."
"I'll pass on that."
Catherine shrugged and grinned mischievously, "Because,"
"Eating with you 3? The food would get all sickeningly sweet."
Catherine smirked, and Leon chuckled, "True that." Randy and Liz exchanged glances, blushing.
Just as the two shared an embarrassed laugh at being caught off guard, Lucius finally came out from the school building.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Lucius raised his hand, and the 4 of them shook their heads with smiles.
"Okay, let's go now."
Lucius pulled out his staff from nowhere, and everyone nodded at the same time.
It's finally time... Randy took a big, deep breath to calm down his excited heart.
"We're flying──"
Lucius poked the ground with his staff... Light wrapped around the 5 of them, and when it was gone, the 5 of them disappeared from the courtyard.
The spring wind blew, gently shaking the trees... The sun still looked the same.
But the shadows in the sunlight were starting to get a little broken.

Lucius teleported them to the underground of those ruins they hadn't seen in a while.
But it looked different from the last time they were here.
"...Is something glowing?"
Catherine looked around nervously and said that everything was glowing, the walls, the coffins, and the doors.
"The seal is getting weak, huh?"
"Probably the seal on Lady Eleonora's body, yeah."
Lucius explained. Through the information on the door, which pointed to Ellie's body, the seal on the [Tower of Time] was getting weaker and leaking here.
"I think we put Ellie's body's info on the door to make it match with the old king, Hoihhoi, right?"
Randy mumbled, trying to remember. Lucius nodded and said, "That's right."
"So, the magical power from the moon during the eclipse is already going to the other side through that door..."
"Yes. The seal on Lady Eleonora's body should be getting weaker slowly."
