Volume 6 Chapter 86-2 Things Are Progressing Simultaneously in various Places Over There...
Once that's decided, there's nothing left to do but wait.
But waiting like this always makes time feel so long.
Catherine and Leon, under the goddess statue, observed the sunlight coming through the skylight with a pinhole, while Ellie and Lucius, waiting below in the underground space, were fidgeting restlessly.
Only Randy, sitting cross-legged in front of the door with his arms crossed, didn't move at all.
After wasting time in our own ways for a while...
"Isn't it almost time?"
Catherine and Leon came rushing from upstairs, excitedly telling us that the sunlight had already faded more than halfway.
Sure enough, as Catherine and the others said, everything in the ruins was starting to glow even more strongly than when we arrived.
"Should we head over there soon?"
At Randy's words, Liz and Lucius exchanged a glance and nodded almost simultaneously.
"Most likely, the moon's magical power has already filled the place,"
Lucius explained. That meant if the sun had hidden more than half of itself, the magical power flowing in was probably as strong as a total solar eclipse.
"The second prince hasn't shown up, so go ahead before we get interrupted."
Catherine glanced around, and Randy and Liz nodded in agreement.
Though we didn't know why he hadn't shown up yet, it was better that he hadn't.
Randy hurriedly stepped into the coffin, raised his hand to Catherine and the others, and lay down inside.
As soon as Ellie lay down in the coffin, the countless other coffins covering the ground began to glow brightly──

Wrapped in light, Randy and Ellie, after a brief floating sensation, found themselves in a section of the [Tower of Time] they'd visited before.
The familiar, organic-feeling walls and floor, and the same large door as in the ruins.
When they opened that door, the same scene from that day spread out before them.
The floor was made of pure white marble.
A dome-shaped ceiling and walls that seemed to trap the night sky.
In the center, a beautiful crystal coffin sat.
But the difference from that day was that the crystal coffin was glowing much more brightly.
Meanwhile, the dome that trapped the night sky seemed more like the moonlit sky──its stars' light was faint.
As if guided by a shining crystal coffin, Ellie slowly stepped into the center of the room.
With each step Ellie took, the crystal's light grew stronger, as if welcoming her soul.
Slowly, Ellie kept moving forward, each step like a reminder of the struggles to get here.
Her pace was slow but sure, savoring the joy with each step.
By the time Ellie and Randy reached the coffin, it shone like the sun, emitting a blinding light that was almost impossible to look at.
"What do we do now?"
"Don't worry..."
Ellie whispered as she gently touched the coffin... the light was immediately absorbed, and at the same time, the barrier covering the coffin shattered with a sound.
It was an anticlimactic scene, but perhaps this was all thanks to the moon's magical power.
When Randy reached out to touch Ellie inside the coffin, there was no resistance; his hand easily made contact with her body.
"Wow, it's so smooth."
As Randy stroked Ellie's cheek, she frowned and muttered, "You pervert," but to Randy, he was just making sure her body would be okay once it returned.
"Well then, shall we swap souls now?"
Randy tilted his head, and Ellie nodded with a "Yeah, that's right."
"I gotta say, part of me feels a bit sad to go back."
Smiling, Ellie took out her staff from the void and muttered, "Liz, it's your turn."
It seemed like Liz was about to cast a spell, and the Liz that emerged in Ellie's place looked a little nervous.
Still, Liz nodded at Randy's "I leave it to you" and took a deep breath, gripping the staff with both hands.
"'Let the fate-splitting rhythm resound,
May the two souls here now part,
I pray that this vessel guides the sleeper to a new vessel,
Let this name be the path, and my will the gate,
Eleonora Val Serena Aurelia Arnesia,
Before you, Elizabeth von Braubelg opens the gate,
(Dual Soul Separation (Dias Anima))'"
As Liz held the staff, her body began to glow brightly──
At the same time, Ellie's original body was enveloped in light and began to rise into the air.
A beam of light stretches slowly, from shining Liz to shining Ellie...

Meanwhile...
"There you are, you stalker!"
Catherine and the others faced Leonius, who suddenly appeared in the ruins.
Catherine held a cypress stick, Leon held his sword.
Lucius pulled out a staff from nowhere. Leonius raised his hands with a smile, saying "Wait a moment."
"I'm not here to fight. I'm just a spectator, like you all."
Catherine frowned at Leonius, who showed he surrendered by raising both hands, "Liar."
"It's true."
Leonius kept his hands up and smiled, and said he would give them the newest info as proof.
"Newest info?"
Leonius, smiling mysteriously at Catherine and the others who tilted their heads, slowly opened his mouth.
"Braubelg will fall soon. The Empire's strongest general, Lionel Dreyfuss, has attacked Heisenberg."
Catherine clenched her cypress stick tightly, facing the smiling Leonius.
